BARN FIND 1969 Z/28 Camaro sitting since 1979!

  • This 1969 Z/28 Camaro has sat in three different barns since it was taken off the road in roughly 1979. The engine was pulled for a rebuild and the car has sat ever since.
    I was there to document the car before the restoration was to begin in 2020. No updates as of yet!

    Oldsmobile Trofeo. Tro-feoooo. Tro-feoooo. Day light come and me want a new Olds. Sorry I just had to. That add program in the 90’s was everywhere. Keep up the good work.

    My parents had one growing up it was blue with black stripes but theirs had the rs package on top of being a z28 so it had hideaways too...man I loved that car

    Great find. 69 is my favorite body style of the Camaro. Wonder what it's worth just like it is now?

    That car sure was a screamer with those side pipes!! With that engine revving up to 7,000 RPM, that raises your hair. i hope he keeps those side pipes on the car

      True header side pipes like those are almost non-existent now. I've been hunting for a pair for years. Apparently all the SCCA racers hoarded what was left of them. They are making them for Corvette's again, but they are pricey.

    Somewhat misplaced priorities - pulling a trailer with that ??Also-that looked like a scattershield on that 302- was it raced ??

    I've seen rust panels for floors, trunks, and various exterior areas, but is one made for that windshield / dash area?

    It would be Sweet to find a car like that to restore. What a Beautiful Car.
    I dont think anyone cares much about the Monza.

    Engine has a lot of wrong parts on it :intake,bell housing and more grill has been painted or replaced (should be silver and body color)love the trailer hitch .Great car i own one

    Awesome... whatta find...i.m sure you know... and did check... the engine.. is really gonna make this find special... because ... it will be the large journel crankshaft...302...if original... 1967 z.s were small journal... 1968 was the change over ... it just add.s to the rarity... manual..steering... was, common.. on performance..option.s ...at the time.. it was considered ...the manly thing... to do... this one is worth a special...job.... have a nice day...

    I'd like to find something like that from some old school non internet guy who paid like $800 for it back in 1976 and agreed to sell it for $250 since the engine is out. It could happen.

    Ryan. Please ask owner if the white Trofeo is for sale. I had my dad's 1988 Trofeo until 2006 when a damn giant buck ran in front of it at 65 mph. It is at least 91 model as 88 through 90 were different. Great video BTW.

      No 1969 camaro left the factory with 2 carbs.

      @@Boobtube. : The cross ram aluminum intake, carbs & air cleaner were shipped to the dealer in the trunk for the dealer to install if the cross ram option was ordered. No cross rams were installed on the assembly line.

    I've always said that these cars are out there somewhere in hiding, yes the numbers are very low, but they are out there! I found some interesting stuff recently myself, I just don't have millions of dollars to go up and ask how much!

    FYI - all Z/28s came with manual steering and power disc brakes

      Wrong you could get power steering on 1969 Z28s

      @@muscleonly1 Apologies, should have said came standard with. Power steering could be special ordered, as could 4 wheel disc brakes.

      @@srbeckable You could order rear disc brakes on any '69 Camaro, I believe, not just Z/28's; ironically, only a few (of the many Camaros built that year) Camaros built in '69 had rear (factory) disc brakes. To find a Camaro with rear disc brakes would be a very rare thing, for sure... lol

      Yep. They were cars at one time. Superbirds, hemi cars, 454 Chevelles, etc. towed boats, campers etc. wasn’t even remarkable then.

    That is a cool find, it is, but... pessimism abound!
    With the 91k miles, the rust and the wasted driver's seat, amongst other wear and tear, makes one take a second look at a claim to a car that was driven for only ten years and parked inside barns under roofs all of its stored life. Those plates could be a red herring. Just sayin'!

    Another scrap iron pile member that everybody wants to act like a little kid over. Spend an infinite amount of time and cash into this junk and it still an old beat up car and fall way short in price if tried to sell.
