Hey Aaron, Your passion for this pedal is clear for all to see. I purchased this pedal with the expression pedal around two months ago to run with my saxes and love it. I haven't explored the many effects yet but it has totally transformed my playing and what I have to offer to the audience. Thank you for your help with understanding what you can do with the pedal.
Hi Aaron, I was looking into the Zoom A1 Four pedal and came across your review. You convinced me!!! As a performer I use the Boss VE-2 voice enhancer and Trio+ band creator for looping and drum rythm sequencing. The Zoom A1 is the last gem to complete my gig-board. Instead of using my amp to create reverb and chorus I will have a bucket load of cool effects at the tap of a foot so my guitar will really stand out. Thanks for the effort in putting together this review.
I was watching your ir comparison video and this video too, anyway I decided to go with the zoom A1 four based on your review. And as usual, your reviews are always spot on and honest . I just got my zoom today and I'm super glad of my purchase. With a little learning curve, I was able to get super nice results and sounds. Thank you so much 😎
I ordered the A1x four but don't have it yet. I've watched a few videos and downloaded the manuals to be as familiar with the pedal as possible when I get it. I enjoyed your video and subscribed. What's cool about multiple videos is the person emphasizes what is most important to them. One guy addressed how setting up the presets allowed him to use multiple guitars and have presets already configured. Great job. Thank you.
I just got mine and I am very pleased. I think this is an amazing value for the money. I attended this primarily for use with my harmonica when I play either acoustic or electric gigs. But it’s great to sing through also. The stock sound bank is excellent, there are extra slots to record your own presets, and you can modify the stock ones. I already have a Zoom 24 track digital recorder and the built-in delays and reverbs and choruses and distortions are all great. On this pedal, I especially love the rotary effect, the chorus effect, and an effect called Sax My Lady, that sounds like a stacked harmony.
ZOOM is one of the most honest companies ou there, they not overpricing his products cause in the past they got a pretty entry level equip company, and now they're punching the great ones in the face with top class products for a bargain.
Hey Aaron, great review, I have learned a few new things to try. I use this pedal in my solo shows to back vocals. I am primarily a vocalist and use guitar for accompaniment. Despite the comments about the different AG simulators being all the same - and it may well be the case - and the real effect coming from EQ - what I find is that if I want to do a calypso or latin number, I can select nylon and it gives a subtle suggestion of a nylon sound that works fine, if I want to do a blues number, I can select Blues, same for Country and the Jumbo and Vintage are great for a bit of folk. Some of the pre-sets do not work at all for me and this is where I will go into the app and try some adjustments. Overall, for me, I can get many different sounds out of the same guitar for backing vocals to get variety just by selecting the different AG presets. This is great for a solo vocalist guitar player. I also use a Boss VE-500 which provides harmonies and between the 2 pedals, I have most of what I need.
THANK YOU for a REAL world review with a REAL guitar with a REAL pick up. I am running a boss looper, a boss super octave and a delay. This could do all this, in one foot print? I used a zoom choir years ago and swear the chorus was the best ever. I bet that is in there too. I love, like me, that because you have all these things, you tell me I don't have to use them or to use them sparingly! I think that comes with experience. Just because it's got 11, does not mean you have to play at 11, even though it is 1 more!
Hi Aaron, wonderful review, but something of interest maybe to others not mentioned is the SAD LOOPER and no way of removing a bad overdub and also if you wish to loop with drum machine, it only plays back the guitar but not the drums...The effects are great for acoustics but they dropped the ball with the looper..I ended up using a separate looper on the output of Zoom and I can loop with drums and effects...Works nice overall.
Hey thanks for watching. Yes the looper isn’t amazing but I have to say that this is an EXTREMELY affordable multi effects pedal so I wouldn’t expect it to have a looper that is as good as a dedicated one. I feel it’s mainly for sound checks and practise. Technology is improving all the time so who knows what the next one will be like!
I love pedals as much as the next guy. I have piles of them. But when it comes to acoustic the only thing I'm interested in is the very best raw acoustic tone I can produce. And the ability to share sonically what I'm hearing from my guitar without feedback.
I would have thought most people would be interested in different reverb styles or delays, not to mention EQ for mixing in with other band members? I have owned and gigged with a couple of previous generations of these pedals and still have the A2. They are a lovely box of useful tricks and the thing I like most about this A1 Four is ease of use on the edits, plus the 3 band graphic always available. Zoom are doing good work here. Thanks for the review Aaron!
LizardKing0851 Have you achieved that? and how, if i may ask? In a live setting I have been striving for a raw authentic pure acoustic tone for a long, LONG time and still not totally happy with my results, so far the combo that seems to closely recreate the guitars sound I've found is the K&K pure mini and TC Helicon Body Rez (which i was really reluctant to use but) other than an external mic of course but still not quite there. The venues I play are way too noisy for a mic and I've tried many other pickups as well. I was at a local open mic one night and a guy from Philly walked in with a Martin D45 and just plugged right in (no pedals) into a one tower Bose L1 i think it was but it just about knocked me off my seat! Perfect acoustic tone and articulation and from what I could see it had no on board tone/volume. After he finished I asked what pickup he was using and he just said "its a trade secret" and he left! lol
Best video I've seen on this thing. I definitely feel sold on this. I have been recording a lot of music this past year. Mostly on a multitrack recorder because I am so distracted while doing DAW recording. This would serve great as extra effects as opposed to my pedalboard haha. Take care!
Surprised there is so much praise for this pedal. I firstly always listen to units with no effects or modules to start with to see how it compares with with the natural sound of my pick ups & see if there is any 'tone suck'. For me there clearly is with the A1 Four. What do I expect for £100 you may ask & that's a valid argument but the video here makes it sound amazing & for me it really isn't. If your instrument sounds worse with it plugged in before you start adding effects then you're in a losing battle from the start IMO. My guitar has a hexaphonic piezoelectric pickup & a built in condenser mic so it sounds really good. I was hoping this unit would add a bit of reverb, delay, compression & maybe some modulation as well as the built in floor tuner. But it's all useless to me if my guitar sounds worse plugged into it than not & I think It's a pointless exercise trying to retrieve loss of tone through eq. Mine's going back to the shop. I did like the tuner though, it was accurate & the whole thing being super light & small was really appealing. Great video, you sold it to me well.
Yeah. I think this is marketed and intended for the people aren't going for that hi def sound that you and I are after. None of this unit is analog unfortunately. I agree though that sound and tonal clarity is absolutely a first, and everything else is a distant second.
@@aaronshortmusic It's weird when you compare the list of effects of the ZD2 generation of pedals with the older ZDL ones, there's quite a few chorus and reverb options they dropped in the newer pedals (as compared to something like the MS-70 CDR).
I bought this for my 5 string fiddle. I like the reverb and delay. Many other settings make sounds endless. I play with u-tube music from speaker. Violin sounds like synthesizer. Im still finagling with this bloody thing.😜
Just found this video and purchased the product…and subscribed! I’m a singer/loop act and this is still a great option I think. I was looking for something to give me a stereo option and something I can use for busking. This is perfect for me.
Thx for this great review! You encouraged me to buy this lil box! Im a full analog harmonica player and have been looking for something interesting... Playing with this multi is pure fun! After an hour I could loop and jam with it! Im gonna try it at a live gig but first I gotta figure out the functions much better!
Sorry to say I am going to send it back. It sounds cool but the Software is crap. I can not connect it to my pc. I tryed everything what I have found in forums. Did not help! I reinstalled the Zoom Lab three times, changed USB cables, chaneged the ports, made factory default... I am sad and disappointed! Such a pity :(
@@aaronshortmusic yes I did! I sent them an email but nobody answered. I am lucky because I bought it from the biggest music store in the EU! They will help me with the warranty and if it can not be repaired I would get my money back. But I really like it and I hope they could fix it. I have read that a lot of people are struggling out there with that same software problem...
Thank for posting this Aaron. Definitely a great pedal. I think this is really the first “bargain” acoustic effects pedal I’ve come across. Seems like every other multi effect pedal, modeler, etc for acoustic is about twice the price of this one. Also, you didn’t mention that it does also work with your typical 9v adapter. Not perfect by any means, the cabinet is plastic, but it does a great job.
Great review. I have been on the hunt for a new multi-effects pedal and you helped seal my decision. I have been using a very old Zoom 504 which has been good but very clunky to program an the unit is getting noisy and the switches are getting glitchy as well. You very thoughtful and well put together video helped me. Thanks!!
The short comings of small buttons, for the looper etc was the same issue on the previous pedal the zoom G1ON. It can be fairly easily overcome, by removing the bottom plate and soldering wires on the the pads on the circuit board at the button positions, feed them to a multi-way connector and then make an external foot switch box.
Excellent tutorial. And thank you for all the talking. How else could you learn without the human voice and some experience when you have none? Good teaching. I bought one and looking forward to receiving it.
@@aaronshortmusic I have some experience with zoom G9,G5. So i have an idea what I'm getting. New function in the lab of changing settings while in a loop is a new feature. I like the way you do your vids. Keep em coming.
Hi Aaron, thanks for the review! A couple of questions, if I may, do you find the Xpression pedal useful? Also, if you were to. compare this vs NUX Optima Air, which one would you go for an acoustic guitar? Thanks in advance!
Hi! I personally do not use an expression pedal much these days. There is also a version of this with a built in expression pedal if you need it. It’s not really fair to compare this to the Optima Air as they are very different. If you need all of the effects then get the Zoom, if you want to create your own IR then get the Optima Air or get both of them.
@@aaronshortmusic thanks a lot! Yeah, I’ve just ordered NUX Optima Air, will see if I can tell the difference between the sound through it and the A1X. If I decide to keep Zoom, I’ll prob change to the smaller version without the pedal to keep it more portable
Hello-- Aaron. Good detailed review. I'm a woodwind player. And love that it has a looper. Can I record a chord progression with drum and save it be used later as a back track for my oboe...?
Hey Aaron, great review, thanks! I owned a Boss Ve-8, but it is not fully utilised. I find it too complicating. Would you recommend that I try this Zoom G1 Four out?
Great intro. I play a bunch of condenser-miked instruments so this is very interesting esp. at this price point. And I was literally thinking of the JBL to power this… You sold me on the looping sound check thingy. Was just thinking this the other day.
You asked for feedback from owners of this effects processor so here goes. But first, thanks for posting this. It's the best review of this processor on TH-cam, IMO. But when you said you didn't even scratch the surface, you weren't exaggerating because you didn't even sample any of the pre-loaded patches (you call them blocks) except the AG patch to (supposedly) simulate a Martin D-28. The fun really starts when you get past the AG patches or, even better, build your own. There are 39 other pre-loaded patches - 30 beyond the AG patches. You really should do a follow-up video demonstrating the other pre-loaded patches. I think I may have been the very first person to buy one of these when they were released for sale. My order went through early on the morning that they were first released. I posted the very first Amazon review. I have the A1X-Four and I also have since bought the G1X-Four. But I have complaints about these processors. First, the AG patches not only don't simulate the guitars they are supposed to but the equalizer EFFECT in each of the AG patches does absolutely nothing but you can adjust it different than the equalizer in the other AG patches. It's the other effects in the AG patches that make the difference. Don't believe me? Just turn off all the the effects except the equalizer effect in all the AG patches and compare them. They are all the same so why waste the space with 28 AG equalizer EFFECTS that are all the same? They take up a lot of space that could be used to load more effects with they processor's limited memory. So it seems like a good idea to delete them all and just replace them with another of the many equalizers that are available and there are much better equalizers available. (Keep in mind, I'm talking about the AG effects, NOT the patches. It's the effects that take up space.) I pointed this out to Zoom and got the run-around. After going back and forth with them, it was clear that they weren't even reading my emails. They then asked me to send sound samples which I did. I included all the AG patches but with all the effects turned off except the equalizer to compare just the AG equalizers. They were all absolutely identical. Zoom's response was extremely poor. I also have a Zoom H6 digital recorder which I love and I do really like the Zoom effects processors but I'm extremely disappointed with Zoom's customer support. It was terrible. So terrible in fact that I changed my rating to 1 star from 5 stars. That's really not fair, though, because other than than, I do like the effects processors but that's how pissed off I was after Zoom's responses. When I asked a question about the H6 recorder, I never even received a response. \ Mmemory (or rather storage) is my second complaint. It would have been so easy to build these processors with more memory so you could load ALL the effects available. Memory is dirt cheap. User's may become frustrated when they want to download more effects only to find they have to delete existing effects to make space. The amp and cabinet simulators don't simulate those amps and cabinets when you play through an amp so don't expect your 5 watt amp with a 6" speaker to sound like a Fender Bassman with 4 -12" speakers. That should be obvious. Sure, they'll change the sound a bit but they only simulate what they are supposed to simulate when you run them directly into your DAW program or with earphones when bypassing an amp. Or at least, they're supposed to. I don't know because I haven't tried it. So if you only play through an amp, you may want to delete them to make room for more effects. You can reinstall them anytime so don't worry when you uninstall an effect. As for the looper, I added a separate looper that is capable of 10 minute loops and also can upload and download loops via USB from a computer, smartphone, etc., but only in WAV form. This means, for example, that I can load an entire song up as the main loop and play along with it, etc. That said, thank you for very much for mentioning using the looper at the beginning of the effects chain. I remember seeing that in the owner's manual but I never gave it any thought. You really made an excellent point about it's advantages and I'm anxious to try that out. In fact, if I'm thinking correctly, I can just put my stand-alone looper in the front of the signal chain too. Thanks again for this excellent review.
Hey thanks and you raise excellent points. Zoom really make incredible and unique products for not much money but I do wish it could be easier to discuss product ideas with them.
Hey I'm going to use this with an electric violin woww I love it! does it also work as an audio interface for recording? if not can I send its audio to a Scarlett to finally record into my DAW ?
@@aaronshortmusic Does it have also heavey dstorsion for something like metal even if this is an acoustic tool? I'll buy it as soon as I can, I love its sounds and paramethers.
Hi Aaron, nice demo, no mention of the XLR input with the phantom power though, were you using your onboard guitar pickup or a Condenser mic which is what i am personaly interested in this pedal for. But you did address a lot of other points though so thanks.
Hi Aaron. The very nice review got me really interested in buying this. I was looking at the manual online and if I understand the diagram correctly you can directly plug earphones as output, instead of plug the earphone to an amp. Is this possible?
Hi Aaron, great review. One person found the sound quality as he said was (“sh**) and no anti feedback !… nice to know whats your impression..I’m nearly sold on the product ! Cheers…
Hi Aaron I purchased the Zoom A1 Four Multi Effects processor after watching your video. Thanks for your great review. May I ask does this effect processor aIso acts as a DI box? If not, then, i still need to run this processor to a DI box for an acoustic instrument?
I guess it doesn't allow you to change an effect on the fly, like you have say chorus and reverb and you want to add delay in a song part. So be able to turn delay on and off?
Hi there. This is the second time I stop by here. You have those K&K preamp and piezo guys installed. Your views are pretty solid rock, and if you are saying the A1 Four is good, man I trust you. I have the Graphtech loaded piezo floyd bridge installed. However I do not have their preamp - the K&K's pop up way much better results than Graphtech's. Are you using the Zoom pedal with or without a preamp? Cheers (Now I know it means "thanks"). PS: that pedal modelling is huge.
Hi there. Thanks for stopping by again! The Zoom pedal is unbeatable for the price. It should not require an additional preamp. I have not tried it with a piezo in an electric guitar yet but I will do.
@@aaronshortmusic You must be right about zoom not requiring additional preamp - even though it is not clearly pointed out in their manual. By the way, are you using K&K's preamp? But the A3 input impedance is low for piezo signals - around 470kohms. But maybe it is not low, it is a matter of testing. Higher Impedance is not a problem itself - in fact it always must be higher than the source's output - but manufacturers have set some standards (and you must know them) because way too much impedance comes along with other compromises in the circuit: 1kohm up to 10kohms for mics and pedals/line output; and 1 to 10 Mohms for magnetic/piezo sources. So 470kohms is exaxtly the opposite in the 'higher input impedance' fashion. But I am no engineer and anyone can give zoom a shot :D. Thanks again.
@H P It’s fine. It essentially is a preamp and even has a setting to change it for a passive magnetic pickup I think. It certainly worked with every pickup I tried with it.
Great review! It's an amazing pedal. I have only one question about FX. I am mainly playing acoustic and nylon guitars, however I also own one electric and a bass and I like experimenting with different FX. Is it possible to upload FX that are available in Zoom B1 four or G1 four pedals? Can I use it to play the bass or electric guitar?
The A1 does have one electric amp simulation so you could use that. If you want to get more adventurous that it’s worth getting the G1Four as well as it’s more tailored to electric guitar.
QUESTION: I have two adjacent patches, one with much reverb/delay and one with little or no reverb/delay. I alternate between two within songs and even in the middle of a chord. Can I change patches in the middle of a chord with no "click", no "pop", no silent gap, and with the reverb & delay "tails" continuing into the next patch? [I realize that to have continuing "tails" I must set "tail on" in the reverb & delay parameters.] Please answer only if you've actually tried this. Thanks!
Thanks for the review. Question: Does it have both 3.5mm headphone jack and 1/4 out? both active same time so that I can use headphone as personal monitor and the 1/4 can go to a mixer? Images doesn't show 3.5mm jack
Nice review, thank you. In case someone feels like commenting on the overdubbing would be great specially if you can loop different sound effects ´couse by now I cnnot seem to achieve that. Thank you!
I've got to watch this again, but did you try out any of the distortion/drive effects at all? If so, what were your thoughts? I like the idea of something like the Fender Smolder, but this is about the same price with way more features.
I know it's not meant for it, but how does it sound with an electric guitar? Would the drive effects be sufficient for practicing or entertaining a couple of guests?
I've just bought one after seeing this review, thanks! Wondering though if there's a way to toggle (or bypass) between the effect sound and a clean sound whilst performing a song.
QUESTION: Zoom claims that the Output jack can be used for both "line out" and headphones. I cannot find a "headphones" setting in the manual that would allow the unit to know which output level I want. Does this unit properly support headphones with a correct volume level [as opposed to simply claiming that you can just plug a headphone into a "line out"], and if so how does it know that headphones are connected? Please answer only if you've tried this. Thanks!
Great review. Convinced me to try one out. I see the input impedance is 480kOhm. I use a K&K Pure Mini pickup on my acoustic. Typically I think K&K suggests something like a 10MOhm input impedance with their systems. Any guesses on how the Zoom will do with the K&K if I don't use a DI or something else with the higher input impedance?
Hi Nate. K&K suggest 1MegOhm. 480k is half of that. It will result in less bass which may be a good thing if you are using a dreadnought. If you have a smaller guitar then you may lack some bass but you can probably just make up for it with EQ. You should be fine!
@@aaronshortmusic Thanks Aaron! It will arrive today and I'm excited to try it out. I'll also be trying it out on my banjo and mandolin as well. The idea of having different patches with different EQ settings for each of the instruments I play on stage is super enticing. No more fiddling with the EQ knobs on my PZ-Pre every time I change instruments. I'm hoping the impedance mismatch is only minimal and this becomes my main stage box. Thanks again!
@@aaronshortmusic The input on the Zoom really was not well suited for running any of my K&K equipped instruments directly into it. I tried my guitar, my banjo and my mandolin and each suffered a bit. However, running the zoom on the effects loop on my LR Baggs Venue worked great! Happy to have this in my bag now. Thanks again!
I am a violinist, Will this connect straight into the mixing desk? Will I need any preamp of DI or will this be enough? Also if I want to have it connected to the mixing desk PA and listen on headphones, do I need a splitter? Thanks
Hi Aaron, can I connect the line out from this pedal to my interface's instrument line in and record this in logic pro x? Or is it only compatible with the zoom software?
I bought A1x and am really happy but the only thing I don’t understand is the aux in. How can I plug my headphones and hear the sound? Because I plugged the zoom into my amp and then plugged the headphones and nothing happened. Maybe I don’t understand how it works. Could you please explain?
Can you rate the acoustic sim while using an electric guitar? I have an electric and was looking for the best way to make it sound acoustic so I don't have to buy another guitar. Maybe a DAW plug in?
QUESTION: Zoom advertises this unit as being designed for acoustic instruments. Do these same effects work equally well with an electric guitar (i.e. a guitar with magnetic pickups)? Please answer only if you've tried this. Thanks!
The reverbs, delays, chorus etc will work with electric but the electric version of this pedal also has more amp sims and is more suitable for electric guitar.
Hello! I have a question about the loop one, how many loops can it make? is it just like one straight loop? then to make another one you have to delete it?
This is a great view Aaron👍🏽. I do write my own songs, can use vocals here? If not, what do you recommend? And in the same price range? I hope you can help me on this, thanks much🙏🏽
That would be interesting but usually the Anthem mic just gets muddy when run with an IR. A Blend control can help with this but the Zoom does not have one unfortunately.
Hey I just ordered this pedal and am excited to try it out. Does anyone know if there's a way I could a plug in my harmonica and guitar cable to this at the same time since the mic and guitar are on two different channels in the amp?
seems like overkill to me , I'd be spending all my time tweaking stuff no one in the audience is even going to care about or recognize lol and there is no preamp, DI or notch for acoustic feedback. great demo tho i learned a lot, Peace !
@@icarocosta4302 I have not tried it. We usually say that a microphone with mic emulation will not be good but you have to try it. I know the Lyric sounds good out of the box so you could just use the EQ to improve it.

I personally don’t use a balanced DI box. I feel like they are only necessary on large stages and most of those have DI boxes available. It does work as a preamp, it just has a 1/4” out instead of an XLR. I don’t think they could fit a balanced output into this box anyway, especially for the price.
@@aaronshortmusic You have a point. I just got the NUX stageman floor from your review of it. I really wanted a multi-fx pedal with a DI and headphone out since I mainly 1) do small outdoor performances/weddings that seem to never have DI boxes around, and 2) bedroom jamming. I used to lug around my AER Compact 60, but it got kind of exhausting. But this fx pedal + a cheap active DI might be a better deal for me. Definitely something I'll have to think about!

Aaron, your videos are a huge help to me. Much gratitude for all you are doing!
Thanks for watching!
I love pedals as much as the next guy. I have piles of them. But when it comes to acoustic the only thing I'm interested in is the very best raw acoustic tone I can produce. And the ability to share sonically what I'm hearing from my guitar without feedback.
I don’t use many effects either. Even if you just use this pedal as a tuner, EQ and anti feedback then it’s a great deal in my opinion!
LizardKing0851
Have you achieved that? and how, if i may ask? After he finished I asked what pickup he was using and he just said "its a trade secret" and he left! lol
Just got mine I love it and I have a pedal board full of pedals.
I just bought it, my first acoustic processor, it is a great tool, indeed ! ♥️😽🙏
Congratulations!
@@aaronshortmusic thank you, be blessed! ♥️🙏
Best video I've seen on this thing. I definitely feel sold on this. I have been recording a lot of music this past year. Mostly on a multitrack recorder because I am so distracted while doing DAW recording. This would serve great as extra effects as opposed to my pedalboard haha. Take care!
You can’t beat this for the price!

Thank you so much for sharing this very well explained and demonstrated demo/review. The best one I've seen for these pedals.
Thank you!
Great review! So Is the output true stereo? Can I split the signal and have it playing through 2 amps in stereo?
Just found this video and purchased the product…and subscribed! I’m a singer/loop act and this is still a great option I think. I was looking for something to give me a stereo option and something I can use for busking. This is perfect for me.
It’s a great pedal. Congrats!

I know. It’s pretty unbelievable actually. Zoom are making some awesome products lately!
Thx for this great review! You encouraged me to buy this lil box! Im a full analog harmonica player and have been looking for something interesting... Playing with this multi is pure fun!
Ah yes. Battery, 9v adapter or USB. So versatile! I like that it is plastic as it makes it incredibly light.
Great review. I have been on the hunt for a new multi-effects pedal and you helped seal my decision. I have been using a very old Zoom 504 which has been good but very clunky to program an the unit is getting noisy and the switches are getting glitchy as well. You very thoughtful and well put together video helped me. Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
I don’t find the footswitches to be a problem.
Excellent tutorial. And thank you for all the talking. How else could you learn without the human voice and some experience when you have none? Good teaching. I bought one and looking forward to receiving it.
I try to get the balance right James! It’s an amazing unit for the price. Let me know how you like it!

Hi, that's a great overview! Thank you!

The Boss is a great unit if you sing as well. You cannot go wrong with the Zoom for the price. I definitely recommend it.
Erik Seymour The G1 Four is for electric guitars.
Great intro. I play a bunch of condenser-miked instruments so this is very interesting esp. at this price point. And I was literally thinking of the JBL to power this… You sold me on the looping sound check thingy. Was just thinking this the other day.
You’re welcome Ed. It’s an incredible pedal for the price!
\
Mmemory (or rather storage) is my second complaint.
Great testing! Would you recommend it for small live performances?

Hi Aaron, nice demo, no mention of the XLR input with the phantom power though, were you using your onboard guitar pickup or a Condenser mic which is what i am personaly interested in this pedal for. But you did address a lot of other points though so thanks.

Hi Aaron. The very nice review got me really interested in buying this. I was looking at the manual online and if I understand the diagram correctly you can directly plug earphones as output, instead of plug the earphone to an amp. Is this possible?
Yes you can use headphones with it. I forgot to mention that!
Hi Aaron, great review. One person found the sound quality as he said was (“sh**) and no anti feedback !… nice to know whats your impression..I’m nearly sold on the product ! Cheers…
This is a very good pedal, especially for the price.
Hi Aaron I purchased the Zoom A1 Four Multi Effects processor after watching your video. Thanks for your great review. May I ask does this effect processor aIso acts as a DI box? If not, then, i still need to run this processor to a DI box for an acoustic instrument?
It will work as a DI.
I guess it doesn't allow you to change an effect on the fly, like you have say chorus and reverb and you want to add delay in a song part. So be able to turn delay on and off?
You can turn individual effects on and off within a preset using the two footswitches.
thanks for the video. very tempted. does it have an overdrive or disortion effect?
Just one IIRC.
@@aaronshortmusic cheers Aaron, youve been of great help. All the best.
I’m not sure. I would check the user guide.
Hey Josh. I didn’t try the drive yet. I’ve been happy with the Smolder but that is a great idea.
@@aaronshortmusic Thanks for letting me know! Your videos are great, very informative and fun to watch.

I know it's not meant for it, but how does it sound with an electric guitar? Would the drive effects be sufficient for practicing or entertaining a couple of guests?
It would work. They have a single amp and drive pedal. There is also a G1 Four available for electric guitars.
I've just bought one after seeing this review, thanks! Wondering though if there's a way to toggle (or bypass) between the effect sound and a clean sound whilst performing a song.
You could use presets to do that.

The desktop software ‘Guitar Lab’ is here: zoomcorp.com/en/us/multi-effects/acoustic/A1-FOUR-A1X-FOUR/a1-four-a1x-four-support/ If it does not include the firmware then contact Zoom support.
@@aaronshortmusic thanks
How did you plug it into pc and hear playing guitar?
I plugged the line out into my audio interface.
Como se reinicia a los valores de fábrica???
Hold down mem/stomp/edit button while turning on and it will allow you to initialize the device.
If this had a DI out it would have been perfect!
RyanChenMusic Or this and the NU-X!
