    Lots of weird haters in this comment section. If you think you can build something more perfectly organic and/or cheaper, please show us. I'm sure David and all of us would truly love to see your designs. I thought the pool a beautiful design, one of the most aesthetically pleasing pools you've posted. The lily area was very well done. I'd love to see follow-ups on all these designs, unlike a regular pool, I imagine these only grow in beauty as the pools are further finished and the garden grown. Thanks for posting!

    This is an amazing looking pool, great work all! I would have appreciated a bit more commentary on the video and the design process, and why the big black tank was used?

      That is for waterproofing, geotextiles, it might save the pool for seepage/leaks.

    • @caracaes
      @caracaes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Just plastering all over with water resistant cement will work, but depending on local prices and labor time, it might be more expensive, and if you dont get an expert to do it, there's no way to be sure it wont leak. Pool leaks are no joke, you might end up condemning your entire house and a few neighbors too.

    I was under the impression that a main focus of 'organic pools' was to drive down costs, but lately it seems that they are either as complicated and costly or more complicated and costly than a normal pool build.
    In my mind, 'savings over multiple years of time' is not really savings. Especially if the cost to build is similar to the 'normal' option.
    What's going on? Am I not seeing something I should be seeing?

    • @adamwilkinson1472
      @adamwilkinson1472 6 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      the main advantage is the water is not full of poisonous chemicals so doesnt soak thru yr skin as you swim, doesnt polute when you change yr water every year, and smells sweet and clean (you can drink it too)!

    • @igounfazed
      @igounfazed 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Adam Wilkinson: I don't see that as a 'main' advantage, as it is reported to take a lot of swimming (daily even) to run those mentioned risks, especially at high exposure numbers. If it indeed is the 'main reason' to create an organic pool, I'm going to have to rethink getting / making one, as they are financially equal to (or more expensive than) an organic pool, and are very costly as far as land area usage is concerned.
      The land area use alone is a huge consideration for me. The land area *plus* an equal construction cost for a similar sized swimming area would make it... Not a smart thing to pursue.

      igounfazed cool, whatever works for you mate, personally whenever I see a pool full of chlorine it just looks like poison and doesn’t make me wanna get in, seeing a natural pool ‘makes my heart soar’ ! 😜 ...ha, well it kinda does, and I’m drawn to it

    • @MrBonanist
      @MrBonanist 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      In my opnion, organic pools are a way of creating a natural pond, cheap or expensive. If your budget allows for it, why not create the architectural form or build that pleases u most? The concept is that it can apply for both, and again in my opinion, the more chlorine pools with no wildlife function it replaces, the better.

    • @frankielofaro4778
      @frankielofaro4778 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      anything in the right considerations can be deadly to people, these pools have the possibility to harbor pretty harmful pathogens if you don't know what you are doing and even then there is still a risk. Just because something "natural" does not really mean much. Most of these pools that I am seeing don't look to have enough oxygenation and plants. Not saying that chlorine pools are the best thing, I have not really looked to much into that.

      Nie, bo to basen dla ludzi, z roślinną strefą oczyszczającą. Ryby produkują azotany i woda nie była by tak klarowna, potrzebna by była lepsza filtracja. David wpuszczał ryby do mniejszego zbiornika to robiło się sporo glonów.

      What swimming pools have zero plastic, chemical, cement, use electricity????
      Since you were OBVIOUSLY unable to figure it out on your own, I'll tell you. None.
      This one uses the least electricity. Zero chemicals. The least concrete. And minimal plastic. Zero mechanical water pumps....
      It provides homes for countless bugs and frogs. Bathing for birds. Doubles as a water garden.
      I'll bet you live in a cement house or dead trees......
      Some people....
