    Wow this is beautiful! Question - is that silicone caulk or something you put in the truss rod channel? I've heard of folks adding a few beads of that to help prevent rattling, but this is the first I've seen someone fill the whole channel. So the truss rod can still do it's thing that way? Again, gorgeous build!

    • @ConjuredUndead
      @ConjuredUndead 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, when I saw this I was like surely that’s gonna prevent the TR from doing what it does? But hey….what do I know…

  • @manceanon7139
    @manceanon7139 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Was the truss rod glued in? Wouldn’t that make it useless?

    • @lignumchannel
      @lignumchannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Truss rod is covered in thin layer of wax and pressed into silicon.Wax prevents it from sticking so it can rotate freely and silicon prevents any vibration.

    • @manceanon7139
      @manceanon7139 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lignumchannel that makes sense. I thought it looked like you were sticking it into the cavity, which would have meant it couldn’t move.

      thank you Duke! We are still at the beginning of our guitar building journey and there are still many machines and tools we would like to get, with each guitar we are slowly getting there. For this guitar we used timberguard teak oil as a finish, we actually made this one during the summer and filmed the final scene couple of days ago so we could see how it is holding up. This is a work horse for a customer and he has at least two music gigs a week so we are extremely satisfied with the finish and sure it was a good choice.
