- Hi I'm GITARAMAKER, a Luthier from the Philippines. I built this Epoxy Resin Bass from an old termite infested log (Manggo Tree), which fell from my neighbors backyard. Nung lumabas ang CNC, baka di talaga para sa akin ito, hangang nood na lang tayo…
Kaya yan brother kahit walang CNC, mas mabilis pa nga kung Bandsaw or Jigsaw i-cut yung body, at that time medyo naaaliw pa ako sa diy CNC ko kaya palagi kong ginagamit hehe

What is that tool you used right after applying the resin that seems to sand down the surface of the block at 4:34 into the video? You were moving it back and forth on a track made from wood.

Have you made a chambered body wood/resin bass?
I made 2 hollow body (ES Type or thin line) guitar a long time ago, but not yet on a bass. That's a nice idea, I might consider building the chambered resin. Thanks 😊👍
What is the price aproximate of this bass???
Really nice job and a piece of art..out of curiosity do you know how much the bass weighs?
This is really heavy 4.7kilos, this is because the wood has so many holes and the resin filled them up, unlike my other build that weighed only 3.5kilos
I love the execution and ideas and upcycling but all that fuss and effort for another.... Jazz bass.

That's one on my list 😊. My daughter is a Ukelele player, she asked me to make an acoustic guitar and a Ukelele. This could be a nice opportunity to try and make a different Ukelele. 😊

Yes need ng Sanding Sealer, kapag wala iinumin (aabsorb) ng wood yung clearcoat and di magiging pantay yung paint. Dati meron yung RJ na spray can sanding sealer pero wala na ngayon.

It's a generic Alnico V pick-up. With my next build, I'm going to make a resin pick-up for a guitar.
Is iroko wood in the neck?
I used "Acle wood" for the neck, It is a native tree here in the Philippines.

I cleaned it and removed rotten parts including the bark and it is dry when I poured resin.

It LOOKS stunningly beautiful. But it also LOOKS heavy and THICK. All the work that's gone into this project is only the aesthetic appeal. That says NOTHING about the sound of the instrument. Give me a plain ole BRICK and it SOUNDS good? I'll BUY IT and PLAY IT!!! What's this thing SOUND like?
Hello bro, there's a link at the end of the video for the Audio test, I asked my son to do it. Yes, it is really heavy at 4.7kilos, the reason is that the wood has so many holes that the resin filled. My other resin build only weighs like a standard guitar, because it has more wood than resin.

Thanks! I'm really hesitant to put a fretboard inlay, cause it might have too much element, the side dots will do. I normally put fretboard inlays on simple designed body. You can check out my IG (Gitara Maker) for my old builds, I have mother of pearl inlays (hand carved) on some of my build.
