That’s awesome! Next year is my first year teaching middle school wood and metal shop. My students won’t be allowed to use the table saw per district policy but can use the band saw. They like segmented bowls but that many cuts for over 100 students is crazy. Plus the whole goal is the students doing the work. Love your channel.

Oh wow! What a task. I’m sure it will be a blast. Well, if you find student that enjoy segmenting, send them my way! I’ll help anyway I can! Good luck teach!

All of the schools in my area use Sawstop table saws. Not a problem.

Thanks for the prompt response. Do you see moving the T track closest to the blade in an additional inch or two as an advantage or disadvantage? Seems to me like it would be helpful by allowing the blade guide to come down closer to the work offering blade support and guidance, but I could be missing something. Perhaps it would make it harder to place your hands where you want them.

I think I get what you are saying, and I don't think moving the track would rally make all that much of a difference.

Thanks a million for sharing the build specs for the table saw wedgie sled. I am thinking about adapting them to a small 10” Craftsman band saw. When you build your band saw sled did you reduce the size of the fences as compared to the 2” wide you used for the table saw - seems like maybe I should go a little smaller than 2”. I would like to say I will report back to you, but when I get these ideas it may be months before I follow through. Normally I eventually get there.

Sure thing! Yes. The fences are smaller. Down to 1” to 1 1/2” thick. I should do a video on the specs of the band saw sled. That’s a great idea.

Could you cut 2 or 3” thick wedges with this sled?

yeah, probably. If your bandsaw has the power. I think you would have to sand the edges after as well, due to blade drift. But I don't see why It wouldn't work

I want to buy a bandsaw just so I could buy this wedgie sled!
