    Make sure to set the speed controller to highest speed setting. Most controllers have 3 speeds & the preset is the middle speed. Look for the plug labelled speed setting it should have 3 wires. Usually black in middle with a brown & blue/purple. The blue needs connecting to the black to enable highest speed.

    Nice conversion. Just so everyone knows
    Watts=amps x voltage
    Therefore a 1000 watt motor will need a 48v battery with a 20amp controller minimum to get to the 1000w motor rating. Everyone overlooks this. 99% of bike manufacturers do not tell you what amperage their controllers are rated for. Then you have 2 different controller ratings
    Continuous and peak to confuse you further lol.

    I plan on doing this at some point a few things.Do you need torque arms--I see videos on them--but I do not see how this motor could produce enough torque to bend or break the forks--especially since most ebikes are also for off road use and videos of folks jumping them pretty far?. The other thing--I also plan on throttle only--is it feasible to just cut all the wires from the controller that you are not using to clean it up.

    • @urbangrizzly3709
      @urbangrizzly3709  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@urbangrizzly3709 All good--one thing--I would put some foam in between the controller and battery.My battery actually came inside 2 pieces of foam and I can set the battery in the foam compartment--then bag--then put the controller on top of another piece of foam--that way they are cushioned and seperated and since the controller is on top and I do not plan on riding in the rain if I can help it--I can unzip the bag a little so the controller gets a breeze to stay cool.I am also using spring lever connectors to attach the battery to controller--should check them out--no soledring--just strip the end wires and it plugs and plays. Also the spring connectors can not catch fire--they can melt at 150 plus amps--5 times what these bikes can even produce--but are unable to catch fire--someone blowtorched them also to test them.
