I enjoyed seeing Stranger Live more then any other concert I've ever been to. I seen them at least 30 times. I would stand in front of Ronnie and just be in amazement. They always sounded perfect. Every show. Greg still has his voice and sounds perfect today. I saw him in Delray Beach. FL a few years ago at noon. He had his trademark shots of whiskey and lit the place up at noon!
I worked at Summers on the Beach on the Ft Lauderdale strip. These guys always BROUGHT IT.... 100%. Brought the party, brought the crowd, and brought us a great night, in tips. Still love the music. Great times ❣️
These dudes became friends of mine in the eighties when I was running The Other Place. They were our top draw for a long time. Ronnie was one of the best guitarist I ever saw!
First Time I saw them was at Marty's in Leesburg, FL. I became a friend. I still have one of Ronnie's "Signed" dark blue Fender guitar picks. He bites them as his signature 😜🤣🤣
Best days of my life , We all loved Stranger !!! GGB played their last show one year ago. I saw Greg and Bobby riss at Quaker Steak last weekend . Holy shit !!! Greg still got strong vocals . RIP Ronnie , John . You made me a better man !!!
I saw this band in Columbus Ga. while staioned at Fort Benning about 1982. I have never forgotten the style that Ronnie Garvin possessed and the presence...killer guitar player
If that was the one when they opened for Molly Hatchett, I was there too! Drove over from almost Macon to see Molly but had Stranger cassettes. When we got to the auditorium and saw the sign that Stranger was the special guest, I think we were more excited to see Stranger than Molly!!
I heard that they were offered to go big time but they chose instead to stay in Florida heard this on radio They were Royalty in The Florida music scene well respected for many years REST IN PEACE Ronnie Garvin........
I miss the band and the day. Saw these guys so many times I lost count. Cried the day I heard Ronnie passed away. Truly a hellva nice guy. RIP Ronnie John and Randy
These guys weren't just a phenomenal band . Just incredible people who cared about there surroundings and people who lived in it . Example little mikey
moved to FL. in 1980 went to pinellas park high school, Stranger wasThunder(Tampa) Bay!! Ronnie Garvin is still the best guitarist, my inspiration, and Friend!! R.I.P.!!!
These guys, then known as Romeo, opened Orlando's hottest club Fern Park Station in 1980 where I was General Manager. They packed the joint every time. Great friends. This world lost two amazing people when Jon and Ronnie crossed to the next dimension.
Saw them many times as Romeo in Sarasota/Bradenton Florida they got screwed by a bad contract stayed in California for a few years until they got paid came back to Florida as The Stranger Band. Long 2 years for sure the rocking Crown Lounge in Bradenton Florida is now a pawn shop sad to see saw them open for the Original Joe Perry Project there in 83 or so small club
I had a thirteen years old kid , with a poetic background tell me and introduced me to this band who happen to be my most favorite band of all time thank you .
I was in a little no-name rock band while I was in college in Gainesville, Fl. After practice we had a habit of going to Dubs and having a pitcher of beer to wind down and watch whatever band they had playing that week. Stranger was a regular at Dubs and they never left us wanting. Great band with great guys and super fun music to party to. This brought back some old memories and made me smile. So sad to hear Ronnie has passed though. Dude could play that guitar!
@@casualcarolinafishing5835 lol My band just won WIND FM battle of the bands. Opening for a Queen tribute band at the Reilly arts center July 20. Sold out concert 800 +
Met my ex-wife because of Greg’s brother-in-law, still owe him for that but had a lot of fun in the 90’s watching these guys! Really got to know Ronnie when the band hired my next door neighbor Donnie to replace Greg. Saddened to hear of his passing. RIP Ronnie..... still play wrong side of the tracks all the time.

Man these guys were cool, rocked, I still remember them I still think of their presence on stage, the bassist looked super cool to me, inspired me to play bass. Its sad a couple of them are no longer with us, great band!!!!!!

Saw Stranger 3 times pre keyboard sax. This was the best sound imho Everyone was good. Ronnie was of course a good guitar player but his stage presence was phenomenal !
I had an unusual band at the time. We were to metal for alternative and too alternative for metal. Not a lot of other musicians were very friendly to us on the scene. Not Ronnie. He treated me like a peer.
Amazing!!!! Thank you SO much for posting. Gave me chill bumps. I've been hoping more Stranger vids would pop up. Is there anywhere to get this & the Paragon thing on DVD or VHS?

Saw them in 82 at the Marker 34 in Titusville every other weekend. They were amazing. But they used to be named Romeo in late 70s. They played covers around Orlando and Tampa. WDIZ, an Orlando radio station, held a battle of the bands, which they won walking away. Part of the grand prize was a record deal with Epic. Apparently, Epic didn’t like the name Romeo - that I can’t confirm. What I do know is that they had a radio contest to rename the band. Maybe it was a combination of the story told at the beginning of this video and the contest that gave them the name Stranger. Who knows? I don’t care. I suppose it’s partly nostalgia but they were one of the best bands I have ever seen live. I’m including any band of that time period, any band. Ronnie Garvin was the best guitarist live that I saw up to that point and to this day only SRV and EVH were better. No exaggeration. They played the Florida thing up too much for a national audience, imo. When they broke out of the Southeast circuit, people associated Florida with Skynyrd and Moly Hatchet, 38 special etc. Great bands in their own right, obviously. Stranger was not southern rock. They were more musically like Rat or Aerosmith. They also made poor production and song choices. I don’t know who was responsible for the musical direction but it wasn’t them. Too bad for Rock and Roll but for those of us who saw them in their heyday, loud and dead on, will never forget it
"One More Night", first is "Hit and Run"! On 1989 release "No Rules" with Fan Favorites "Wrong Side of the Tracks" and "Swamp Woman"! Also, two of my personal Favorites! The Awesome Rock Ballad "We Were Wrong" and what should have been a Radio Smash "3-D"!

With the right two songs, they were bound for stardom. These weren't those two songs. Just my opinion as a fan from day one.

can anyone please tell me the name of the second song. I'm having a major brain fart.

They should have played Dirty & Mean, Wrong Side, and Shake Down instead of trying to sound like Journey.
No. I’ve never heard anything to the contrary
