    thank you for making this it seems like perfect timing for me
    im trying to research how to build a grow chamber this weekend but this seems like a simple alternative to try before i commit fully
    i really do only grow one or two blocks at a time so hoping it works out

      I do also have a video on my main fruiting chamber build if you haven't seen it yet. Might give you some ideas:

    There are small battery powered inexpensive ultrasonic misters that could be set in a sideways tub with a the lid propped open a little for air exchange.

      Sounds like it would work just fine 👍

    I did something very similar to this but made the mistake of enclosing the tote entirely, putting in a computer fan, and running it with an Inkbird. Too much for a little space, it got too wet and then dried out too fast. The best luck I've ever had was with an open top tub I just sprayed 4 times a day. Always gotta remember to stick with the simpliest thing that works.

    • @RenegadeMushrooms
      @RenegadeMushrooms  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes spraying works well, it's just that I'm working all day so the humidifier does the job while I'm away. I agree simple is better.

    As seems to be the new norm, I end up having questions after watching every one of your videos 🫣
    Today, I need to ask….. I need to make or buy a fruiting tent, box, cave or something to help with my shoeboxes & bags fruiting stage. I’m a very mechanically minded person with I’d say strong intermediate carpentry skills. Do you have any advice or plans or videos on building your own? Or, what would you recommend I buy if I end up needing to go in that direction?
    Thanx again & keep up the good work educating me & a gazzilion others ✌️

    Hey brother could I ask you a question? Is it possible for you to make a video on learning to grow mushrooms in an all in one bag? Using a spore syringe. I’ve been seeing videos about it but people always take out the soil and place it in a monotub. I’ve been wanting to learn how to grow some mushrooms inside the bag and harvest them in the bag. I’m using the tub set up with the fish water heater you showed us how to make with two tubs because my temps are freezing during this time of year. Any suggestions or feedback is appreciated I’m still new to all this.

      I might make a vid on that sooner or later but North Spore has great step-by-step instructions on their website for their Shroomtek all-in-one grow bags. I think you'll find everything you need there.

    Regarding the Betazooer humidifier .... You give a link for the one with 2 hoses. Is that so you can do 2 containers at one time (with a splitter) or just to have an extra hose? Have you tried doing two tubs at once with this humidifier? Also, in your opinion, is it better to use a cycle timer or a controller? If timer, what would be a good setting? (turns out the AC Infinity model I originally bought only goes up to 85% Rh without causing problems, so I'm returning it).... I apologize for all these newbie questions 🙄 I really do appreciate you and look forward to your next video!!!

      @@zumbapatty4988 The splitter works great and yes you can run two tubs at once with one humidifier. I've used repeat cycle timers and the inkbird humidity controller. They both have their uses but for controlling humidity I much prefer the controller (Inkbird IHC200)

    Hey Mr. Mushroom Dungeon! I just bought an AC Infinity (T3 model) humidifier. Really nice. It comes with a sensor but no timer. Their controller (purchased separately) seems like overkill since it controls all kinds of things not related to mushroom growing. The highest humidity you can set it at is 85%. As long as it comes with the sensor and I can set it to 85%, do I really need a timer/controller? Am I missing something?

    • @RenegadeMushrooms
      @RenegadeMushrooms  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It would be nice if it went to 90% but 85% should be fine. If it will cycle on and off and hold your chamber at 85%, I don't see any reason why you would need a timer.

    • @zumbapatty4988
      @zumbapatty4988 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RenegadeMushrooms Thank you! I think you can set it higher than 85 but the rep I spoke with at AC Infinity said it's not advisable. Love your videos - I've seen others but keep coming back here for more! :)

      I like to pin at more like 90% but once the pins establish I usually back it off to around 85%. Good luck 👊

    Well, I think I've figured out from Paul Stamet's book what might be wrong. Mycellium is not growing (after a week and a half) and grain is very dry. I Pc'd my pint jars for 75 mins. Is there anything I can do to fix this besides start over? Just shook the jars and I'll give it a few more days but not too hopeful. I'll switch to quart jars and supplement with bran (on rye), and do 90 minutes in the PC....What amount of bran for a quart jar? I figure I either PC'd too long or I used too much bran (or both). Determined to get this right! 😞

    • @RenegadeMushrooms
      @RenegadeMushrooms  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@zumbapatty4988 75 minutes at 15 psi is plenty of PC time for pint jars. If you have no growth at all it could be three things. Bad culture, grain inoculated too hot (not allowed to cool to room temp), or grain waaaaay too dry. One of those would be my guess.

    • @zumbapatty4988
      @zumbapatty4988 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@RenegadeMushrooms I'm doing pink oysters and lions mane, so not much chance of both being bad cultures. I definitely allowed my grain to cool overnight in the PC so should have been cool enough. So I'm thinking it must be that my grain was too dry. If I'm doing 3 quarts jars (that's all my little PC will hold) how much dry grain and how much wheat bran should I use? Maybe 2 lbs 3 oz. dry rye? How much bran? I'm thinking I may have used too much bran.

    • @RenegadeMushrooms
      @RenegadeMushrooms  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@zumbapatty4988 It depends on your grain. I don't use rye but quart jars usually hold around a pound of hydrated grain. You have to figure out the hydration ratio for the grain you're using. Start it in a pot of the hottest tap water you can get, cover it, and let it soak over night. Next day, lay it out on a towel and let it air dry for a couple hours then pack into jars. Maybe you should simplify and skip the bran this time. I wouldn't give up on those jars though until they sit for a few weeks. Also what are your temps.

    • @zumbapatty4988
      @zumbapatty4988 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The lowest I've seen the temp is 64 and highest 75. 68 right now. Are you saying that your formula of 40% increase in weight when hydrated could be different for rye? Makes sense I guess. When I make a new batch, I'll make note of the increase. Hanging in there with fingers crossed on those jars. Thanks for your encouraging words!

    • @RenegadeMushrooms
      @RenegadeMushrooms  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @zumbapatty4988 Every grain is different. There are even differences with different types of wheat. Just put enough hot water in the pot to cover your grain plus a few inches and let soak overnight. That should hydrate it well. I usually strain mine off the next day then lay it out on a clean towel and let air dry for 2 to 3 hours stirring it around with my hands a few times. Then into jars, should work for you.
