    Glad to see you doing videos on these tractors! I think they were a tremendous step in the right direction for Massey. Unfortunately there is just about no dealer support around here for Agco anymore. Look forward to seeing more, thanks!

    I really enjoy watching all of your videos & like seeing all of the toys you have in that big toy box you said you have. Like others have stated on here I don't believe I have seen a tractor on a lift before having a oil change. Just never know what one will see in Dennis's bag of tricks! LoL Really like your channel a lot! Thanks for sharing take care till the next one.

    Interesting stuff Mr. Dennis ! I thank you for sharing ! I have a hill that I like to check pull speeds at also ! It's strange at some of the habits we pick up in our lifetime ! By the way the fastest I ever topped the hill was on a Massey 451 with a Perkins 4 cylinder. The older Perkins with that long stroke sure did have the torque ! You be safe my friend and God bless you and your family !!!!! Eddy

      Ray Eddy I know someone that has a Massey Ferguson 451 Perkins engine and he uses it to bale hay pulling a 4x5 Massey Ferguson round roller baler, he probably has over 9,000 hrs on it . Plus he mows all his hay with it . He bales about 9 hundred a year round baling. And about 1,500 square bales a year.

    When you were pumping that oil in, I was thinking to myself I hope Dennis didn't do what I did the first time I changed the oil on dad's tractor and forget to put the doggon drain plugs back in it. Was so proud of my self (at 13) right up until I fired it up and the oil light wouldn't go out. Fortunately I cut it off right quick and must not have done much damage, because it lasted us a good few years longer. Heck, the engine on that old thing was about all that was right with it by the time we scrapped it.

  • @4gauge10

    Very interesting video Dennis,I was very concerned about how close you were to maxing out the lift weight-wise,I thought for certain that tractor weight more then 12,000 pounds,but I bet it was very close to the 11,000 pound limit.
    When I changed out my oil,I used Amsoils flush and I let it sit for about a whole day to let it drain,then I installed a Amsoil oil filter and 0W-40 Diesel oil and have been saving about a half-a-gallon of diesel fuel per operating hour at full load,full throttle and WILL NOT VOID YOUR FACTORY WARRANTY(S).

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Must be some good oil!

      DLH Farms I wouldn't use it otherwise,oh yeah!!.
      I've been selling this product since 1999 and I've never had any complaints with the exception of one.It takes longer to warm up the engine in the winter time,because it cuts friction on average of 40%-50% over our nearest competitor.(Mobile-1(one)) Mobile-one is rated number two out of every brand of oil on the market.Amsoil is equivelant to wet ice on wet ice.(slickest surface in the world)

  • @ajkiviaho7212

    According to my quick internet search DEF is suppose to be only 2-3% not 10% ratio to diesel used .... you will need to get that fixed/changed make sure they (the dealer) knows what they are talking about .... Love the videos!!!

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what Agco told him on the phone. I was there. It does seem high.

    • @ajkiviaho7212
      @ajkiviaho7212 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can see it using 10% if it was to ReGen to clean the particulate filter ... but your Massey does not have one... at 10% I could only guess your exhaust would smell to high heaven of Urea all the time ..... my Diesel stinks like that when it does the ReGeneration mode ... other thing is according to Massey own adds it only uses DEF fluid under heavy loads because that is the only time it produces Nox gasses .. that is also why u don’t have need of a particulate filter ... according to their adds on their website... I hope the DEF gauge is messed up and not showing you the right readings and nothing more
      Great videos keep them coming

    My MF 6616 seems to have that "notchy" feeling to the steering as well, it's quite annoying. Sometimes when I'm running my hay grapple, it wont even move the wheels anymore. I'm going to have to look into the hydrostatic unit you mentioned.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They put a new unit on my tractor and it fixed it.

    • @Xealuz
      @Xealuz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before they replaced the part on yours, was it "notchy" all the time, or just when you had a heavy load on the loader? Mine seems to be much more apparent when i've got the grapple on and loaded up with hay.

    • @DLHFarms

    Nice video. Funny that me being a mechanic on heavy equipment for 34 years still enjoyed watching you change oil in your tractor. I have a few questions...my tractor is a Massey Ferguson 4707 I got after seeing your videos. I've had that 'grainy' feel in my steering too. I'll ask the dealer about it. The other comment/question has to do with the radio. It is a factory radio, it doesn't keep the time right. Every time I start the tractor, the time on the radio resets to 1:00 - the memory isn't kept. Is yours that way? I guess you are still pleased with your Massey?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I'm not having any trouble with the radio, sounds like the memory wire to the radio isn't hooked up. The radio has to have two power wires one is turned on and off with the key and one stays on all the time to keep the memory alive. The dealer has to install the radio and I bet they wired it wrong. Yes I'm very happy with this tractor. I seem to run it more than any of the others.

  • @jeffreybegeman9544
    @jeffreybegeman9544 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    On-Highway trucks use 2-4% DEF to Fuel but these are all equipped with EGR and DPFs. The higher the engine out Nox emissions the more DEF that is needed for the SCR to clean it up. The higher the engine out Nox the lower the soot in the exhaust so some manufacturers do this so a DPF is not needed. So you may be trading having no DPF for higher DEF consumption.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your probably right but my NH T5 uses very little DEF and it has the same system as the Massey with no DPF but i know NH is at the top of the food chain when it comes to emissions since even JD is useing some of FPT engines to meet emissions.

    • @jeffreybegeman9544
      @jeffreybegeman9544 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      JD using FPT engines?? Hard emission regs make for strange bed fellows!

      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah! Lol

    • @JROC734
      @JROC734 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I wish my 5075E used a FPT engine if that would keep me from having to use a DPF even though I'm not a fan of Fiat. Even Mahindra doesn't use a DPF, or atleast some of their tractors don't. It's funny people put JD and Kumoda... I mean Kubota on this pedestal, but the two brand that many people consider the best have the worst emissions of any tractor companies on them. I will say that overall I've been extremely happy with my 5075E the 5 months or so I've had it. It's done everything I've asked it to and not given me any issues other than being a little thirsty for diesel and I don't like having to regen.
      Don't the new Zetors ( at least the Zetor Major 80)that sell over here still come with Tier3 motors instead of Tier4? Something to do with not selling enough tractor over here to require having to develop Tier4 motors for this market?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol! Kumoda. I'll have to agree with you on that one.

  • @farmerboy4744

    I have been enjoying your videos on the 4710. I just got a 4709 and I had a question on your front fenders...do they hit the loader frame when you turn? I had them installed on mine and they hit on both sides when I turn...for the drivers it hits kind of in front of the fuel tank. I realize the fenders are spring loaded to allow for movement, but was just curious if yours hit like that. Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like it’s out of adjustment. Mine don’t hit anything when I turn the fenders barley move in towards the hood. It takes some fiddling to get it to work right. Mine has hit the fuel tank guard in certain situations.

  • @sevillianc
    @sevillianc ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey how are you still liking it? I saw a comment about 6 months ago you’re at 1100hrs.
    I wish I had my steering and rear 3 point looked at.. the dealer wasn’t great & stopped at some point even selling MF. The 3 point/draft control drives me crazy depending what I’m using it for.
    Does it still work better since that first update? My 20yr old kioti is 100x’s better..you barely bump the lever, it barely moves it.

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s a good tractor. Sounds like you got your draft control knob turned the wrong way I think you have to turn it all the way to the left away from the plow symbol. It’d that doesn’t fix it , it may need to be calibrated. You should be able to fine control it.

      So your saying the engines out of the AGCO factory are derated and not a true HP rating? I wonder if the dealers would turn them up to full torque & HP before they leave the dealer, kinda like a semi motor or that would void your warranty.
      Also, I would love to see the heat reading of the dpf filter when it’s running full throttle. I would imagine the EGT temps are off the chart. Nice videos as always

    I bought a new 4710 which has 15 hrs on it now, it has a horrible burnt paint smell coming from the heat and a/c, any suggestions?

      Sounds like something is getting hot time to try out your warranty.

    Was at dealer last week and the new 4700 series have new engine manufacturer and it does not have def.

      The 4707 never did have def

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I highly doubt that they would ditch there own in house engine especially when it has been such a good engine for them.

    If you dont know what def is .......RUN! Its just a way that government mandated emmisions to create more problems to need a tec for and spend more money.

    Holy crap computer troubles whatever happened to the good old days of no computers?

    • @DLHFarms
      @DLHFarms  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It didn't have computer trouble, the dealer was updating the computer in the tractor as part of a service bulletin and his computer failed and caused the computer in the tractor to erase. They fixed it the next day after he bought a new laptop and came back.

    Nice video! Have you ever heard of, or done business with a company called Auto Express? (they are in Rich Creek) I am looking at a dump truck there, and just trying to find out info about the reputation of the company before I buy.

      Actually it's doing really good compared to other tractors I've bought. Everything that's been wrong with it has been nit picky stuff that most people wouldn't even notice. It's never left me stranded.

    Screw that emissions crap, on a ford 6.7 it’s totally worth taking off the $9k in emission components and replacing it with a straight pipe from the turbo back, especially if your out of warranty and your state and local authorities don’t care. Save a ton of money not buying DEF

  • @vickipoe3925

    Should have changed the filter. Like taking a shower and putting on dirty clothes.

    • @DLHFarms

      I did change the filter. There was like 5 minutes of the video of me taking the old one off and putting the new one back on. I even showed the part number and everything. You must have fallen asleep.
