When the design is under less than 300 food demand, it will overproduce carbon-factory food and thus potentially back up on waste. Has anyone come up with a "priority splitter" design yet? Is there anything exploitable about depot bot behaviour? Perhaps they prefer 1 space hops to 2 space hops, or prioritize taking from trains over other depots?

As far as I can tell, they shouldn’t actually stop, you just can’t place more. But maybe that’s the difference between a river and the ocean? Not sure

Not that I’ve seen. There is some prioritization work pending by the dev
