Hi Claire, I didn't know this. I always thought that inverting the verb and subject was less formal and using Qu'est-ce que, which is longer, was more formal. Btw could you have Que tu penses de ce film? Or does it have to be the full Qu'est-ce que? Thanks.
Hi Jan, inverting the subject and the verb is always the posh option. So you would write Que penses-tu de ce film? But you would say Qu'est-ce que tu penses de ce film? Hope that helps 😊

Btw Tu penses que doesn't work actually. You need the Qu'est-ce que to make it work.
