drugstore shades are difficult. there are very few true neutral shades. I was also influenced to buy the loreal age perfect and CG pot cream foundations, and I disliked both too. Also ELF products and shades are awful. everything ive bought from them has been too orange, too yellow, weird smell, and just cheaply made. people who say they love it are selling to us.
Yeah I got an email from City Beauty today, not gonna pay 35 bucks for one lippie to get one free. I love the Lawless products anyway & have far too many lipsticks. No one was buying my excess makeup& larger clothes, battered women's shelters weren't picking them up either so I made my Craigslist ad free & an organization that helps women came out right away, got their phone number, why not give it away to those type of places instead of throwing the stuff away? Bc it's always sunny here, ugh, I use more tined sunscreen than fdtns unless I'm going out at nite. Yes the Born to Glow is still my favorite, have t in two shades! I have the Wet n Wild too, it's very good, I'm light medium. Can't believe I've still never tried the True Match, I've looked at it but maybe there were too many shades to choose from. I never know how to truly match my shade. I lean toward higher ends because there are people available to match for me. Drugstore matches are hit-or-miss.
Try taking a bottle of foundation that matches you to the drugstore, and hold them side-by-side.
I really enjoyed this. My favorite and has been for years is the Neutrogena Healthy Skin. I have tried so many, but always come back to it. I should try the Loreal True Match. Hope you have a great weekend. Connie
You're so lucky to be able to return makeup in the USA, we can't in the UK so we're stuck with it. The only company we can return things to is QVC.
That would be a lot harder. I think once I found something I liked, I wound want to experiment much.
I loved Physician Formula the Healthy Foundation! It was perfect for my combo oily skin and loved the doe foot applicator. Like you, I also like the Ulta Crush and L'Oréal Super Blendable.
For higher end I'm curious about the new Smashbox. I prefer satin finishes
I have the exact opposite skin tone and color. I am very fair and cool and I still agree with you on everything you said about the foundations you tossed. Just goes to show that they probably aren’t good for a lot of people. One that I really like is the Catrice True Skin. Which unfortunately is only online now but worth checking out. The less foundation on older skin the better.
What are some suggestions to keep the foundation off your coat, glasses etc? I dislike wearing foundation daily for these reasons, but I know it would make my skin look better.
It can be the type, also after you apply, pat off excess, I use a dry StansOut sponge, you can use a tissue also, and if you powder, you may want to blot after powdering. And then if it stays a problem, I’ll do a quick spritz with setting spray

You can mix brands to get the finish/color you want.

Come back to FL , I want you to do a makeup application on me! I do not know a great foundation for me, all I use is the DRMTLGY universal tinted moisturizer with spf 46. Prpud of younfor purging .... remember to donate to local thrift stores
I bring my " didn't work for me" to work and leave with a note free take, I have a bad habit of buying and buying. I'm always happy when they are taken, and my son has a lot of "girl" friends so I make them a goody bag every couple months.
Yes....I stocked up on the Healthy Foundation (shade LW2) after learning they were discontinuing it and am currently down to my last two bottles. Nnnoooooo.
Been hunting around the internet to see if I can find any "leftovers" listed on ebay (I know....I loved it that much).
Currently trying to find my next go-to best foundation, and it is a little overwhelming with how many friggin' products exist these days. I have shied away from mineral/powder foundations but am giving the Laura Gellar "baked balance and brighten" mineral foundation a shot. Seems really light but does even out my skin tone. Very very limited amount of shades, unfortunately. I always have issue with finding a light enough shade without it looking too yellow or orange, but without it being TOO light that it washes me out. I haven't tried any of the Loreal foundations in a long time.

I will be 44 on November 20th and have combo skin with some hyperpigmentation from past acne scarring, and a glorious cystic acne friend will still pop up on my face somewhere every month, which is just....SO great. *eyeball roll*

Hi Lisa. I used your code to order BOGO lip gloss and mascara from City Beauty at the beginning of November. I chose in-stock options, but my order showed pending for over 2 weeks. I sent them an email asking for status and they said the products were out of stock and refunded my money. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I have never ordered from this company and was excited to try some higher end product. Just thought you should know.

Have you tried the Elf Satin Finish foundation rated top rated by Good Housekeeping for drugstore I think. Lots of colors and the finish is buildable. I have been playing around with it and think I like it.
