Wanted to thank you for this video. In about an hour of watching this I managed to create my very first semi-completed groove after never having used an Akai device before previously.
@elroylite7209 I love it. I haven't done anything in standalone mode yet. This is replacing my MPC Touch. The pads are the smallest I've had on a MPC but they work fine. The function buttons work well. No need to hit Menu all the time like on my Touch
I think the orignal Mpc is superb and a great drum machine for the money , I now use it most of the time with a TD3 and a Specular tempus, I wonder if the Force has an update?
Is it possible that you make a more in depth video on the programming of the drums : Global, Samples, Env Filter, LFO, Modulation and effects? I need more understanding in it as my beats are not crisp and punchy.
This is great, thanks! One question, about using the DrumSynth plugin - do you need to create separate tracks for each of those sounds (clap, snare etc.) or could they all be on one track, since they're all using the same plugin? I imagine for a melodic synth you don't need a different track for each note, right? Or maybe there some reason you separated them out? Thanks!
Thanks, great video. My band Play with drummachine, is it possible to make one long drumtake with different sounds and then just press play and follow the different drum blocks through the song. And would anyone recommend akai mpc one plus as the "drummer" in a band😊
Well, I sat here mesmerised by this, almost regretting having sold my MPC One at the start of the year. Nine months with it and couldnt get my head around the bloody thing. Sold it for the Maschine Plus, which I DID get almost instantly...but that CPU, man...jesus. End of story: sold that, too, and am sticking to my Deluge.😂
Great video! Although I'm a little confused. In my MPC One research, I see that it only comes with three VSTs, but when you start up, I see eight? Does that mean the MPC One Plus comes with eight? Is that a Plus exclusive? Or does the old MPC One also have eight after updating to the latest firmware?
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to use my mpc live 2 as an external sound module in ableton. Does anyone know how to properly set up the midi so my midi clips can trigger the mpc vst instruments, like Jura? I have the audio routing working, but I can't get midi data from my keyboard controller to trigger the mpc instrument
Select the track with the jura plugin on it, then that litte "eye" icon up left, then in the same row the 4th icon (left of that crown thingy) and there you can tell the plugin which midi input port and channel to listen to. Set the same for the ableton clip and there you go.
Yes, but you'll be limited to MPCs stock plugins. They aren't bad by any means, but you're not getting Ozone level of limiting for your master. Also you're limited to just 4 plugins per instrument/audio track/buss/master. So yes, but it's clearly limited.
@@matthewgaines10Absolutely!!! The fact is that the MPC ONE + has some features that could have been shown in this video… Nevertheless this tutorial is huge because Tefty actually demonstrated how to set up a solid template to make a song! ❤
I haven't had the MPC One+ crash on me. All together I've had maybe 3 crashes in the past 3 years of owning modern MPCs. I've seen lots of bugs in the software from updates, but nothing has stopped me from being able to make beats. I've had WAAAAYYY more crashes with Ableton Live over the years (I love Ableton and use it almost daily 👍)
@@highginx my mpc one crashes frequently enough for me to be looking for alternatives. I am going to try a new memory card first and see if that improves it as it seems to crash when saving especially if I haven't saved a project for an hour an I've added a few samples or recorded audio. Also crashes and sometimes will not shut down if I have a few synths connected via USB. I've come back to it the following day and realised its still not shut down. Ultimately this leads to loss of work which is more than a little annoying. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic tool but has its problems. Good luck.
@basedcarbon4796 Interesting! I've never had it crash on a save before. It does make me think the memory card can have a big impact on it. Also, have you saved a lot of stuff to the internal drive? I've read a lot of reports about people having issues with updates and buggy OS after upgrading if they've used or modified some of the contents of the internal drive. I have no direct experience with this though. It's also possible you have a faulty MPC One. Ben Jordan got an MPC Key 61 and it was legit broken/not functioning properly. So it definitely happens.
@@teftymusictech I do suspect the memory card is part of the problem and yes I have saved additional content to the internal memory. I suppose it would be helpful if I got a new card and factory reset the unit to see if this helps at all. I'll stop being lazy, bet this done a report back. The biggest problem is it not saving when I have hardware connected via USB, maybe the reset will fix this. Time will tell. Its not all bad, as a tool I love it, couldn't work without it to be honest.
Sorry but what you're showing is not "beginner friendly" your video is cut and edited cutting out pieces of your steps, and not broken down enough for a beginner to follow! Great beats and music but definitely not showing beginner friendly content!
Thanks for the feedback! I tried my best to show what was possible with stock sounds from the MPC. It's a catch 22 with the TH-cam algorithm. If we make a vid that's over an hour, the YT tanks it. So we end up cutting portions to cut the length down. Either way, noted for future 'beginner friendly' vids.
Best demo of MPC One+ on TH-cam.
Agreed 💯

Thank you for this! Finally somebody who explains it well.
One of the best youtube mpc one tutorials thanks a lot
Impressive demo, shows your depth of knowledge on this great kit 🙂
Very hands on! Many thanks for posting.
wow...thank you..great demo of the latest MPC
This has been out for a year already?? Wow!! I ordered one yesterday and should have it soon
Mines come tomorrow, how you like it so far

Good video - good idea to use the stock content.

I hear ya on the workflow. It took me a solid year for things to really click on the MPC.

With the update they add more.
Very nice! Request you do something about assembling a song, and then how to record audio for the whole song - if that is even advisable 😂
Thanks! Definitely doable. Needs a whole video to explain it.
nice tutorial!

hi, can I make an entire track with this without needing anything else?

Great vibe! This type of beat can be done on all MPC versions tho ❤
Right because like the man said, he’s using what would be available from stock. He never said anything to the contrary.

This looks like the craziest ti-87 calculator in the world lol. But man, Tefty sure knows how to navigate sound tech!
🤣🤣🤣🙏❤️
Does it crash all the time?
Do they tend to crash often? I just got mine a couple days ago..

That thing is not easy on the eyes.
Сначала было полное говно, но на последних минутах все зазвучало круто. Риспект, докрутил мелодию. Как художник, писал картину маслом. 😂
