    Hi everybody it's been pointed out to me and quite correctly so that in this video, I referred to the serene stabiliser as a clamp, not a weight. That is my mistake.

    Shane, thank you for your wrap up. Spot on! Very similar effects of the mat on my humble Rega P6 I can hear and fully enjoy.🎉

      @danthe9869 awesome Dan 👌 I'm not sure if you have the combination, but the two components make the matt look like it's on steroids. I'm glad you're getting the effect as I'm hearing here.🎧👍🙂

      @shanestephenson8423 Still thinking about the stabiliser as it would add the additional weight (mat +clamp = c. 263g). Not sure if my Rega's motor can easily spin this additional weight.

    Great breakdown Shane. While I don’t have as highly resolved turntable like yourself, I did experience a similar outcome with the serene stabilizer on my Rega P10 turntable. What I really like about the serene stabilizer is that it’s light mass, which does not put strain on the motor. I came into this as a skeptic walked away as a believer.

    Room treatments, isolators, all have a positive impact on the total audio experience.
    Would be interesting to have you test the lifters that are being sold that suspended the loudspeaker cables above the floor at some distance.

    Hi Shane, what's interesting with products like these, especially on such a hi end and technically right turntable like your Kuzma , is you don't notice any noise as such and so are not aware of it until it is removed by these products . I love that the clamp is lightweight unlike some others out there, as it will work on all turntables, whereas if they are too heavy sprung turntables often can't use them. Nice products mate 👍

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes, that's quite correct Stacey most people think they've heard the best thing they've ever heard until they hear something better. So the right thing to say is that it's the best I've heard so far as a reviewer. It's really quite simple. We just get used to something until we hear an improvement on it.😁🎧👍

    Shane another great review, including the shorts & listening a lot of work. You mirror my findings when you speak of the Serene mat decoupling the record from the plater on 4 dimples similar in concept to record stabiliser the 9 PTFE points of contact of my Hydraulic Reference turn table. You make it clear the positive effect of both the Serene mat & record stabiliser working together, in my case it would seem the Serene record stabiliser compliments the effect of my plater weights/points of contact as it does with the Serene mat.

    I have had the Serene mat for a week now. It replaced a felt style mat on my Reed 1C turntable. I’m happy with the outcome. Slightly wider soundstage and instrument separation but the biggest difference is it’s taken some harsh edges away and it’s calm down my rig. So basically more musical. I’m not using the record weight as I dropped one once on an expensive record and damaged it😅

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  27 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Oh no, Kieron, I never like hearing those stories. But it's definitely worth trying the stabilizer clamp because the combination of the two components far outweighs any influence either one will have on your playback, I think.👌🎧👍

    Brilliant summary, Shane. I listened to this maybe 3 times as I was multitasking at work. Lol. Never got old.
    So is it fair to suggest your finding a synergy between the two SA products that is not realized when using only one of the SA products? If so, then SA should offer a new product package kit for market comprising the Serene record clamp and the Serene platter mat. I’m a US patent attorney who sees value in IP. Lol
    I’d like to point out that the Hex Mat Eclipse platter mat has a similar array of raised dimples but on both surfaces, suggesting it as an inspiration to Theo of Stack Audio. I toyed with the idea of combining two SA Serene mats back-to-back on my LP12 deck to mimic the Hex Mat Ellipse mat. I declined to do so after realizing the LP12 deck spindle can’t accommodate 2 Serene mats, a record, and a clamp. If your Kuzma deck spindle is tall enough, that might be an interesting test Shane.

      Hi Dan, Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the review, and I'm glad you got through it three times without getting sick of looking at my face😂
      I have suggested to the boys that they should create a serene package as you suggest with a little bit of a discount if people buy the two components they did like the idea.
      The potential problem with running two mats is the relief on the platter side of the mat needs to be on a flat surface so that the dimple on the top side of the mat can work as it's designed to like suspension in a car.
      The animation makes more visual sense of what I'm trying to describe in the review video. The other potential issue is that you may be having too much of a good thing and possibly over damping the record surface with two mats.
      But certainly, experimentation is to be encouraged in this area.
      👌🙂👍🎧

    Morning everyone from tropical Scotland 😁 I hope everyone is safe and well 😁 I have a question about the mat ? I have a rega p10 apheta 3 cartridge combo and was wondering if the thickness of the mat will change the VTA ? Rega turntables don't have VTA adjustment and are set at the factory. Yes, you can get shims but to be honest, I don't wanna start messing with how the arm is seated. Just a quick update on my trip to glasgow on Saturday, really nicely done, and it's all nicely lit up. The German outdoor markets selling all sorts of Xmas things and george square is stunning mind you maybe going on the Saturday wasn't the best idea especially as Friday is the start of the weekend and you have to be careful where you step due to the disguarded half eaten kebabs and the pavement pizza's everywhere some of which still had the person who delivered it still attached face down laying in it and people screaming at anyone walking by to shut up ( being polite with the real response ) and turn the light out, benches have that effect 🤣🤣🤣🤣 anyway please stay safe everyone and again from my family to yours have a merry Christmas and a happy new year when it arrives 🌲🎅🎄🤶

    hello Shane
    Thanks for your review. Just received serene record stabilizer clamp, and I have one problem. The device won’t sick on record label. It looks like a spindle is too high. I also have Kuzma stabi R turntable like you.
    Did you experience problems like this and do you have any recommendation what to do sincerely Nikola

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Nikola, Yes, I had the same problem. You'll need to put a mat on your platter. I have a couple of different ones that I tried to lift the record up slightly on the platter. Around 2 to 3 mm is what you need it's not a lot, but it is required with any screw-down clamp spindle. When the Serene mat arrived, the problems was solved, and ideally, that is the way you will get the maximum benefit from the Serene stabiliser.👍🙂🎧

      thank you for your answer. Unfortunately, I didn’t plan to buy any mats, Because I have built in some kind of mat on my turntable’s platter. I think that this is it for me with this product and I will return it to stack audio.
      There are otherwise great company with great products but I think they should inform the potential buyers about this issue. And I think it should be noted on their website/ manual of this product. Also, I think they should write some kind of PDF manual for the product.
      Thank You once again.
      Sincerely,
      Nikola

    • @shanestephenson8423
      @shanestephenson8423  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @nbulj Hi, I agree with you in part. I think that people not buying the package, which is the mat and the stabiliser as most will should have some knowledge that with a screw-down spindle, there will be an issue with the depth in the stabiliser
      As for a PDF, really, it's not warranted, I think. You simply place the mat on the platter, put your record on the on the mat, and then place the stabiliser on top of the record over the spindle, and you are in business.
      But I definitely take your point in there being a warning about just using the stabiliser and the potential issue with spindle depth.
      But again, I think the boys were assuming people would be purchasing both items, and then this is not a problem. I mentioned it to them when I was reviewing the stabiliser before I had the mat, but I had other mats I could use to solve this problem. I'm surprised you're current mat is not taking up the two or three millimetres you would need to engage the stabiliser correctly. I should have made mention of it in my review of the stabiliser. There was some talk about increasing the depth of the cavity in the stabiliser so that it could accommodate all spindle heights so I wouldn't give up your quest to have this just yet. But in saying that, the package really does get you the ultimate in isolation and dampening of the playing surface.
      Keep me posted, I'd be interested to see if you could do something with a mat to be able to take up the depth you need to engage the stabiliser. It really is worth trying to work something out it's a great product.
      🎧👍🙂

      @@shanestephenson8423 Same issue here. I can’t find any language on their website noting the need for a mat to make the stabilizer work. it would have been nice if they had given us a heads up on this. I have an acrylic platter on my turntable, I wonder if I buy an acrylic mat 3 mm thick if that will solve my issue. If not, to be honest, I will probably send the stabilizer back.
