I wish that we could get more guns in the magnum variants of these auto cartridges. 10mm Mag & .45 Win Mag are insanely good when you read the data on them.
I agree that would be cool, but highly unlikely just due to the fact that they’re trying to market these to the masses and the average person has never even shot one of those caliber
I worked on a similar project, different action, but the concept was designed for three different weapons platforms, same cartridge and magazine, i am a fan of 10mm, always have been since colt delta elite came on the scene, but personally i like the 357 sig over the 10mm in comparison when switched between barrel lengths (hand gun, carbine and rifle) this ruger has many of the same design purposes, and glad to see this type of design becoming succesfull, regards
Yes, a pistol version with a 6-9-inch barrel and folding brace would be excellent! I submitted a comment about this to Ruger. I’m not much of a PCC person as most are the size and weight of a Mk-18, and I’d much prefer the 5.56. Now, to have a slim, light pistol PCC in 10mm would be a home run!
Being a fan of the best mm, and of Ruger, I will likely have one before the end of the month.👊 I bet they do release a pistol LC Charger version, they did that with the PC Carbine in 9mm, released the PC Charger a little later. Depending on the barrel length if they do, I might get it as well. But I already have an 8" CMMG Banshee in 10mm, so I would like to see a 5 or 6 inch version.
Been waiting on Ruger to do this since last year. Ive been holding off on getting the Stribog 10mm because they dont offer it with Glock mags. Not sure why some companies who manufacture dont default all of their PCCs with easy to get, reliable Glock magazines.
135gr underwood goes out of a 16 inch barrel at 2050 fps about 1250 foot pounds. Little more powerful than a 223. 7 pounds blow back should handle the weight better
I had to stop when you said, "The 5.56mm- something that's going to go through several walls." Pistol caliber rounds tend to penetrate deeper in both tissue AND structural materials than most 5.56 rounds. Deciding to use a PCC for home defense because it's not as loud might be a reasonable choice, but don't make that choice because you don't understand terminal ballistics.
@@Baebae1947I don't know. I've heard the same uninformed nonsense since there has been a gun community on the internet. The facts are simple, and easy to find, or just discover for yourself with a very moderate amount of effort, but so many people just keep repeating the same tired drivel. To sum it up (again), the cartridges able to quickly stop an aggressor in your house with the least chance of over penetration of person or structure are #4 buckshot and very light 5.56x45mm. ALL effective defensive handgun rounds penetrate more in bodies and houses.
10mm is a rabbit hole for ammo like 9mm. Continuously over compensating or under expanding trying to keep up with good ol' .45ACP Fudd Metal Jacket. One .45 bullet weighs twice what a 9mm weighs. Think of the .45ACP as an 11.5mm round. Do the math. Better yet, do the finances on same .45 ammo vs same 10mm ammo.
10mm is for penetration, 45acp lots of stopping power not lots of penetration, that’s why bear defense guns are 10mm not 45acp for most part. 45 was made to stop humans without body armor.
I was looking at the LC 9mm carbine and passed for some of your complaints on the 10mm. Bear Creek Arsenal has some lightweight inexpensive reliable and accurate pistol caliber carbines. The 10 inch barrel version of the 45acp and 9mm which I own is about 5 and a half pounds no mag. Glock 25 and 33 rd mags. They have 10mm versions too
You do not ever want to shoot a short barrel 5.56 in the house suppressed or unsupressed. So many dudes do not run drills. In the house you could set something on fire via the confusive blast errating a massive fireball. If this new ruger shoots 10mm loaded like back in the 80s…. You get massive recoil, with huge muzzle rise 😂 nowadays 10mm is a slap to the face. Anemic rounds at best.
Off topic but we should all OPEN carry our side arms on a regular basis so we can strengthen our 2A rights and help eliminate the stigma of open carry. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I would tend to agree with you. Ever since I first saw the PCC concept I thought the 10mm would be the ideal cartridge in about a 10-12 inch barreled semi-auto compact firearm. Lose the blowback action and come up with something that locks and is lighter. Just my opinion.
So many cool firearms. So little money 😢.
Wait till u get a mortgage
Heavy because the LC uses a blowback action. Bolt is a large heavy mass because of this. I have the 45ACP carbine, will be picking this in 10mm, too.
How is the 45? Both that and 10mm will be in my safe. 😊
It is a bit heavy but 10mm needs the beef !
I agree with you on the 10 inch barrel version. That would be perfection!
Have one, love it, buy one , very good gun, fit many possibilities.
It's a fun way to get into 10mm. Stay safe. Holiday sales are not too far away.

Thanks
The barrel placement of this lineup gives you a shorter appearing barrel. A pistol version would not sell. (imho)
I think they’re already doing a pistol version of the 5.7

Carbine 15 only weighing 3.9 pounds full length ar15 style

The question mark of the equation is the *SGM* 30rd mags. Unless there has been a very recent update to them.
