I haven't buy any Kaido House release so far, just for the fact that they aren't in true 1:64 scale, Jun Imai still carries the wrongs of the Hot Wheels brand with him, I remember that the Lamborghini Sian was delayed because Mini GT wanted to have a nice representation of the carbon fiber on it, if Mini GT manufacture this is obvious Jun Imai didn't care about the scale of the texture.
I do generally like Kaido House their unconventional designs but yes, this carbon pattern is not it. The full carbon also makes the casting look oddly proportioned, whereas the og purple and blue variants are way better
I stopped buying Kaido because I feel that Jun Imai doesn't appreciate the level of detail that should be present in 1:64 scale cars. There are other brands that produce much better 1:64 scale car miniatures. Sometimes, it seems like Jun Imai prioritizes profit over product quality, and that's really disappointing for me as a 1:64 car collector.😔
You can compare all manufacturers, and every collector has their preferences, some like details, others like a cool look and Kaido, in my opinion, simply stands out from all the manufacturers, just the rims, awesome
Hey brother, may i know if the brand called JDM64 is related in any way to Hobby Japan? They are priced cheaper than HJ since they didn't came with acrylic cases, they made EG6 and EK9, cheers from Malaysia
Honestly im done with kaido house. Got them for the hype in the beginning but the more i've had them on display and looked at them the more i realize i dont like them so decided to get rid of them in favor of buying other brands or just regular mini gts lol. They just look kinda goofy and toyish. Also i kind of just sigh whenever they release YET another colour of the same casting for the 50th time, they dont really feel special with so many decos getting pumped out every month or so. Especially the R34, that just looks horrendous in that body kit imo.
I have come to the conclusion that a lot of it transfers over from the hot wheels history. Personally, I would have "grown out" of that phase and started a more accurate representation of the culture but to each their own. However, I'm gonna call it out if I see it lol.
Completely agree with you. I bought the first two versions of the R33 released and then when they announced a third one coming with just a different colour, I've had enough. I barely get any new diecasts nowadays because I am kind of losing the interest in them. But my last few purchases were really rare stuffs in my region so I'm still happy about it.
In the online store I buy my mini gts at, this is the cheapest I can get than the other Kaido R33s.... I'm on a budget so I just bought it. I know the carbon looks so off that you can play chess on it, but it's actually my second kaido. Hey, at least some of my friends that are addicted to kaido and wants to see another kaido in my collection likes it.
I can't understand why people are making such a fuss about Kaido here, these models are beautiful apart from a few little things, the price-performance ratio is absolutely right, here in Germany the prices are under 30 euros, of course there are also rare, expensive models, but those are basic real eye-catchers
I have both of them so far. The Datsun 510 Pro Street and the R33/ There is another version out for pre-order for the R33 in purple Carbon Fibre. Whether or not the scheme is liked, it is still unique!
Another thing i noticed about kaido house is the dullness of their latest box design. Lowkey shocked when they're just snap on pic for the NSX and the new R34 casting (also a few upcoming silverados). I know they maybe want to present the product but I really hope they bring back the x-ray design just like the 240Z, R33 and a few 510s
The carbon weave scaling is way too big for the model. The weave on the front lip; as you pointed out, is way more correct to scale. Also, I agree the fenders on KH models have always appeared funny to me. They look like somebody did and aggressive fender pull instead of an actual over fender or wide body. I think the carbon pattern just exaggerates it even more.
@@modelcarshouston that's pretty much all it is. The only thing Garage Active about it is their logo and the poor attempt at a carbon body. Which, like you said makes no sense because they haven't even done a carbon 33 yet.😂
I like the thick widebody, it’s is acceptably close to the widebody of garage active r33. Problem is the carbon weave. Aaaaaaaaaand they still continue onwards with the upcoming purple carbon version 😕
I'm a big fan of Kaido House, but the R33 and even some R34 castings just aren't very good. Forget about the scale, when you compare against Jun's 510 series, there's a very real gap between that line and the GTR's. Trucks are cool, he's done them right, and I can't speak to the new Civic since I haven't held it in hand. I had the active carbon 510, and while I liked it, I actually sold it (along with many other Kaido's in my collection) mostly because it didn't feel special to me, sort of generic.
It’s just a different type of carbon fibre weave, it does look like a carbon checkerboard, I’ve worked with it at my uni, looks weird but definetly does exist. That’s still doesn’t change my opinion on this Kaido, the R34 is already my least favorite casting by them but the carbon fibre combined with gold rims and a brown interior just put me off.
Personally for me this model is the peg warmer of kaido house, even competing with the 510 variants. Also since the latest pre order release i feel like we can just predict what design they'd make next, like i won't be surprised if there's advan r33 in the next month or two
Carbon fiber looks like Carbon ribbon... I got one because i like how it looks overal. I just pretend is a black/grey pattern (like chess) and not carbon fiber. 😄
When i see kaido house r34 wide bodykit i feel to start collecting them 😅😂❤ yeah i have hot wheels but kaido house and etc arw better i wait realitic pop hood , door
@@modelcarshouston IMO clear money grab, hopefully G. Active did/does say something so it doesnt become a pattern. And no excuses at their price point when a regular Mini-GT car can get the carbon texture correct.
All joking aside and with complete honesty, there is no way this looks OK, presentable, or should be accepted.
The scale of the carbon fibre weave is way out of proportion
💯
The pattern on the lip is how the whole car should be.. just like every other brand does lol
Exactly!!!
This odd carbon fiber pattern/spacing is the main reason I didn’t get these particular Kaido house
Exactly!

oh really ?? @@modelcarshouston
I hope they fix the carbon weave size for the next release..I really want to preorder that purple carbon fiber r33
Doesn't look like it, but I'm rooting for him. Lol

Yes, this is their introductory line for younger collectors.
Yep. Sold all my pre ordered MiniGT x Kaidohouse because of this.
DANG!
Is CCA a good diecast brand? I just started collecting cars from CCA and I'm wondering if it's a reliable brand
Never heard of it.

Unfortunately, not :(

You're not trying to impress other people. The collection is for yourself.
Yeah, I'm a Kaido fan, but this car is really badly made. The best example for a good full carbon model is INNO64 F40
Yep
Is Tarmac Works chasing Kaido House now with the Jon Sibal models? I got the R32 with Advan livery JCCS model and it's way bigger than other 1/64 R32s
Oh man, I certainly hope not. However, I would say that it used a 64 scale base and then wide body it with the JONSIBAL touch?
@@modelcarshouston nope not just the fenders the roof and greenhouse are all bigger too

I love the IG 510s that he did. Those resonate with what I tend to favor. Of course, that is an opinion of mine.
wait so is that real carbon fiber or just paint to look like carbon fiber??

Very predictable.
Really don't get it why they did it like this, but when they did the better style carbon fiber on the Tamiya R34 for an example. 😢
The Hornet R34 even had "proper" carbon fiber on it!
