So glad I found this tutorial! I just did the first few steps. I’m about to take the door off, tape it up, and go for it! You might have said, but I missed it, but how long did you let the rust reformer dry? I’ll probably have figured that out by time you see this and can reply, but maybe others are curious, too. Thx again for the tutorial!
You might have said, but how long did you let the rust reformer dry before hitting it the first time with the appliance epoxy? I just did the first few steps. I’m about to tape off the door, and go for it! Thx for taking the time to put this tutorial together. Super helpful.
@@RefreshLiving so I have a frig just like this! Rust and all. Lol. But how did you get the doors off?? The long handles on the frig too, I don't see a way to remove them
@@RefreshLiving Thanks! I used baking powder and then sprayed vinegar and the rust cleaned up and a black spot was left. I cleaned it, let it dry and sprayed with appliance epoxy, the color didn’t have to match because it is not gonna live inside the house anyway. It worked. The paint is taking a while to dry as its humid here. I am happy to have watched your video bc it gave ideas :)
If anyone is watching this now I used Lysol lime and rust clinging gel (for toilets) and put plastic food wrap over it I let it rest for a gooooood while (1 hour lol) And the rust was gone.
frog tape. or just make sure its really clean so the adhesive sticks better. I have heard of pros using Vaseline instead of tape. paint wont stick or dry out on Vaseline, then you just wipe it off when the paint is dry.
Ours rusted after my wife cleaned it with a clorox product. That was about 2 years ago and it's getting worse. It really bothers her. It's a Roper also. Coincidence I'm sure.

Can you paint over the black Reformer with white Epoxy?
@@RefreshLiving, thank you. I just figured out I'm probably going to need something like Bondo All-Purpose Putty & Cream Hardener.
Did you replace the gaskets as well ?
Thanks!

Hi, is it possible to paint it with white? (our fridge is white) Or the only option is black since the rust primer is black? thank you so much.
@@RefreshLiving Thank you so much!!!
Hey! It’s been a year, any rust develop?
Hi there. Great job. How many cans of rust spray and epoxy spray did you use?
@@RefreshLiving Thank you for the Information!
How many can did it take to do fridge?
1 rust reformer and 3 epoxy spray
Painters tape won't stick to the gaskets. Any suggestions.

I think mine rusted from cleaning it with disinfectant wipes.
@@RefreshLiving i used the rustoleum and it worked pretty good
no it is garbage Chinese steel/metal used to make these appliances.

So funny I have the exact same fridge and it is rusting in the same areas. It was stored outside for several years.
How is it holding up ?
How long did you wind up leaving it outside to dry before bringing it back in?
@@RefreshLiving do you have to reapply paint? has it chipped? or cracked? I am seriously thinking about doing this...thanks
I love u… Thank You 🙏🏽
I have the same one
Did yours rust horribly too??
Nice job. Can't see rust on black paint 😉😄.
Better to use vinyl wrap. Comes in all colors
Great idea 💡 where can I find it?
I don't have a sand machine... So I'm asumming it'll take me forever to manually sand down my entire refrigerator.

Looks good, but I think it costed you $40 or more.
One needs to get a good job so he/she can buy a new one. A man isn't a man unless he makes $1,000 a day!
Gosh, I love active girls especially when they don't wait for me to go home and so it
How not to paint your fridge, basically. If you do this DIY do it with proper tools, spray cans are not the way to go im afraid.
