I'm 80 yrs young and lived in the lace paint era and could take it or leave it, but in this case I love it, that's a pun, I've got a 1922 ice box, old term, and it works has an old bee hive condencer on top and this has inspired me to paint mine, great job, love your talent, Jim las vegas nv
Amazing work. The fridge looks beautiful. Love the color and everything you’ve done. Those old fridges are workhorses. They don’t make ‘em like they used to.
Beautiful. Nice job on the handle. It’s amazing that a 75 year old fridge is still running strong but if you buy a new one you’re lucky to get 7 to 10 years. Something went wrong there. 😎
The reason why the fridge didn't come with a handle is because after they were disposed of, EVERYONE took the handles and latches off after numerous cases where small children crawled inside, closed the door, then couldn't open the door from the inside, and suffocated. You've beautifully restored a device that can repeat that tragedy. That's the reason all fridges today have magnetic latches with soft vinyl seals on the doors (soft vinyl doesn't need to be clamped tightly to form an air-tight seal, so the magnetic latches are sufficiently strong, and can be opened easily from the inside.) I was curious to see if you'd replace the mechanical latch with a magnetic one, but unfortunately you didn't. WHEN you dispose of this fridge, before it leaves the premises, please UNSCREW THE LATCH, remove it from the fridge, and either destroy it, or else throw it in the trash at a separate location, so that it can never be found and re-installed. You guys are all too young to have heard about this, so it's not your fault you weren't aware of it. The engineers that designed the fridge didn't think about it either. Sorry to spoil your day. Enjoy your fridge and your Coronas and retire the fridge responsibly.
@@jfan4revayou think they’re just gonna throw away the fridge because a child can suffocate themselves inside? You know what else can cause a child to suffocate? Literally anything small enough to fit in their mouth or large enough to go over their head. Old cars don’t have airbags, some don’t have seatbelts, and none of them survive well in crashes - you don’t see people “disposing” of classic cars do you?
@@jfan4revadear lord it’ll be okay most kids don’t go around random peoples garages and hiding in their fridges and I can GUARANTEE you they won’t be digging around the junkyards to sleep in one either after they throw it out 😂
The original paint was baked on the reason it lasted half a century. Your paint will make it last maybe 10 years if lucky. I would think it would be awesome to have the outside of the fridge painted fire engine red. 😊
Im an old man and about a hundred years ago I was a service tech for Sears. I have great admiration for those who bring some love to these old boxes. They are a tangible link to a past when household items were built to last. There were some really far out designs from the 30s thru the 50s. If the sweated system is intact , they’ll likely last forever.
Cool lacework! A bit of pinstriping around the edge of the lace would’ve looked ace ,but the fade/fogging is cool too. Good job on the handle .Killer job!👍
I love it !! I wish I had it in my kitchen. The lace pattern is extraordinary and beautiful. Well done !! Cheers from the Finger Lakes of New York, USA. 🍷 🍷
I watch a lot of restoration videos on TH-cam and this popped up in my recommendations, I was so happy to learn it was from a local West Aussie and subscribed as soon as I saw it
Stumbled onto this channel and delighted I have. Ohhhh I love this fridge and filled with my favourite beer❤double winner in my humble opinion👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🏴
I remember that I had one very similar to this. My fancy new fridge lasted 3 years and these are good all these years. My clothes dryer is 1964…best dryer I’ve ever had. I love the color, the handles and the sheen. I’m not sure about the lace pattern. Doesn’t seem to represent the era. But still very striking.
this was amazing! i have an older fridge i think from the same era... i always debate painting it but its in such good condition and has all the original parts. loved the mint color on this one.
Well this very pretty fridge doesn’t have the same features or constraints as newer ones. Not saying I wouldn’t LOVE an oddball fridge from the 30s, but you’re comparing apples to coconuts.
@@codename495 My point is no LG/Samsung Fridge will be around in 20 years. My GE entry level fridge is almost 25 years old and still going strong. LG makes a horrible Linear compressor motor that last 1-3 years. Can not be repaired.
I knew someone who died from a coolant leak. If your getting an older fridge make sure either that’s replaced or modernized. Modern coolant thingy doesn’t have the silent killer attribute, it smells.
I own old fridge made by slovenian manufacturer - Gorenje, based on Danfoss compressor, R134a refrigerant. One thermostat replaced so far. It is close to 20 years old.
@@FilmFactry Interesting… We have a high end (at the time) LG side by side fridge that’s 22 years old that we’ve never had even the smallest problem with.

Wow... just wow. I spent most of the video side-eye squinting thinking why are you doing this?! But holey crap!, what a result. The lace making an almost marble look and with those colours, it came out looking stunning and very retro.

That's quite impressive for a fridge that most folks would've thrown into the garbage bin. Looks incredible.

the paint job is breathtaking! And the custom handle and door liner! Gorgeous.
That is the most beautiful transformation of a tired kitchen appliance I have ever seen. It’s like a facial makeup on a Plain Jane! A head turner!
I was never a fan of this color till you put it on a refrigerator. Great job man!
Thanks Nick! We were in the same boat until that base coat went down
@@bennettscustomsco why the evil on the wall?

Freakin sweet. Id love to turn one of those old fridges into a kegerator
Great job, colour is stunning.
Such great attention to detail...
In the restoration of this quality appliance,
you really showcased your talent...
Truly a labor of love... Wow! 😃
that finish is excellent Jordan, it makes me think my old 1950's Silent Knight needs something more than the patina it currently wears.
Let the ideas flow Greg!
I love content like this, random shop projects. Keep it up! Turned out awesome
Thanks Taylor! Many more to come!
Tis a thing of beauty! Well done.
The quality of the work is undeniable, just kinda wish they’d stayed with the orange color
You guys knocked that one out of the park... So when work on cars slows down, bring in a few vintage fridges and restore em... Very nice work...
Cool new-old fridge. Very cool.

Totally agree! Hope the new brushes show up soon
Yeah! definitely it was fun to watch! Awesome job!!!
I'd pay for an A&W themed fridge and stove honestly! Not that theme, but saw the old sign up there, and the original color... Would be killer!
Looks amazing!! Would much rather have a retro refrigerator that looks like that than what they put out today!
The lace was really a nice touch, Karl would approve.
