This is the philosophy that draws me to motorcycling, a spirit of freedom, agency, simplicity, adventure and honoring the past that connects riders to the world.
I just had a flashback of when I lived in northern Indiana. Riding a motorcycle up there is a constant challenge of playing pothole slalom😜 But at least it's easier than dodging those potholes with four wheels.
I’ve been watching all your videos for about a year now even though I’ve never ridden a bike. I want to buy one of yours eventually but just can’t justify it yet. Maybe by spring.. Videos like this make the wait a little easier though 👍 FortNine makes some great content too
Imagine how nice it would be without all of those potholes🤔 I will be getting one of those bikes and riding it down here in Paradise. The beautiful Ozarks. Almost no potholes and maybe fifth of that traffic.
I've got tinnitus in both ears. I got it from, that's right, motorcycles. I've ridden dirt bikes since I was three and my father didn't use muffler packing. It was excruciatingly painful for me and I had surgery on my ears when I was nine but it didn't help. I would love to have a Janus Motorcycle. They are rolling sculpture but, for me, I wish the mufflers were far quieter. Sure I could wear earplugs but that's not fun. And no, I wouldn't want an electric motorcycle. A quiet, internal combustion engine will do. One feature I've always thought would be great to build in a motorcycle would be a gyroscope. This way, the bike could never fall over... and yes, I broke a lot of bones too. 🤣
@@kevincraig8257 I understand. Still, why can’t there be an ICE for those of us with tinnitus? Loud sounds are painful. Earplugs are only part of the answer. A quiet engine is another.
A brilliant script that covers decades of motorcycle development, for better or worse. Well done.

This is the best bike ad ever! Won't sell a single unit, but I appreciate it greatly....

Is that a state or county road? They should be ashamed for all that patching instead of repaving.
Cool bike. Being a Hoosier I recognize that road has got to be in Indiana. I’ve got a 1993 Sportster. I’m considering a Janus. Good video.
Nice purr to that engine... would be so relaxing. I need to have mine looked at. I have to hold on with a death grip with the hesitation.
This is a superbly thoughtful and articulate essay on the ethos of riding. Well done.
One of the best Janus videos. Awesome riding
Great motorcycle philosophy here !!!!

Love this motorcycle
Are these motorcycles hardtails or have some kind of rear suspension other than a seat with springs ?
The greatest ride I ever experienced was on a late sixties Honda 250 through Catalonia Spain .
Curious where this ride was. Near one of Michigan's many lakes, it appears?
Yes! Northern Michigan

Incredibly well said Richard!
Thank you!
Is this ride with the 250 or the 450 ?
This is a group of 250s - 2 Halcyons and a Gryffin
You had me at hello, whether you know or not, you are the Simon
Curious about the grip extensions. What is their purpose?
Reduces handlebar vibration
But nothing will help you when you hit the smallest of bumps.
Amen brother. Well said.
My motorcycle is my only form of transportation & I live in the USA. 😁
Right on!
Yeah that’s great, but I’m really just here for the Charlie videos.
Go make some fenders or something!

I would never want an electric motorcycle. If a machine is moving me, I want to hear and feel how.

Ah, but is it reliable, Richard? For the price, it really should be.
Justin, have you gotten our vm?
😎👍
Dommage qu on ne puisse pas en profiter en France. Ce n est pas étonnant, on a les pires mafieux qui existent....
Well said!
