    Thank you! I made two of them in less than 15 minutes from materials I already had. Both work great after a little adjusting of the "eye trigger" bend angle to adjust trigger sensitivity. Tip - take the paint off the hanger on the trigger point for smoother action.

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've never adjusted the sensitivity of it. When I use it, it's with shiners but they rarely set it off. It's usually a strike that sets it off

  • @sctsct100
    @sctsct100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You can make the set up even more sensitive by applying Vaseline to the under side of the wire where the line guide hooks to it.

  • @scottjkern
    @scottjkern 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That is a really really cool idea cheap and in expensive but what I’m wondering is the size of your minnow could set it off. Any answers

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had very few false sets with this. I've used small and medium shiners. If you use something really large that keeps setting it off, you can bend the part that goes through the top eye to make it less sensitive... I think.

    have you tried it? i think if you made the pvc so that the rod is closer to 90 the hookset would be more agressive

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I have used it quite a bit and I've had a lot of hookups with it. I did change the angle and the length of the PVC rod holder a little bit so that the real is not sitting on the wood. By doing that I do have a more aggressive snap when the hook is set

    Do you remember how long the fishing rod was? Your measurements are great but I would guess some ajusting would be need with a different rod length.

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rod is only 24 inches. If you have a longer rod, you'll need a longer board and have to play with the lengths but it is pretty easy to figure out.

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's been a long time and I don't exactly remember how I bent it. I can tell you that the end that the fishing line goes over is the exact shape of the hanger portion that goes into the cardboard tube of a hanger you would get from the dry cleaners.

    How much force does it take to release the rod tip?

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, takes very little pressure. If it's really windy, sometimes that's enough to set it off.

    The hanger the longer the metal hanger the less force is needed to release the rod tip?

    • @FerreraGlen
      @FerreraGlen  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's really the angle that goes through the tip of the rod that the force needs
