Its not really. I have an i5 12600k which does better then the 5900x but were talking an i5 here. Then its paired with a 4080 which is going to cause some bottlenecking, it wont make anything unplayable but this defiantly not the build for "Maximum Performance" its kind of a dumb build tbh.
Not to mention its still cheaper, and offers integrated graphics. The reason intel will always be king. They dont just slap cores on they perfect their design. Bye bye ryzen.

Crank all the settings to the max you say? It's a shame to use Kingston NV2 in that build. It's the cheapest m.2 SSD on the market. DRAM less, inefficient, very hot and although it claims to be gen4, it actually has gen3 speeds (some high-end gen3 models are even faster). It can be used in a super budget build but for high-end PC not even close
ye, chill, take it easy, pc building isn't stupidly complicated, just take it 1 step at a time and if you get stuck the internet is always there. Otherwise, if you can find a well-priced pre-build as these guys have got, there is always that option too.
Try not going over budget, you'll have time to upgrade. Don't get GPUs like the 1650 or 6400/6500xt, a 6600 or 3050 is a good start, or if you want, a Rx 580 or 1660S. Dont cheap out in your PSU use the cultist tier list. And try getting a motherboad with good VRM heatsinks.
I've got a 4080 and a 5800X3D. You should've gone for one of those over the 5900X as the massive cache in the 3D variant of the CPU by default just makes it a much better gaming CPU
I disagree. While in 1440p, both the 5800x3d and the 5900x perform the same. 5800x3d is only slightly better in 1080p. But if you have a 40 series GPU, of course you'll game in 1440p. The 5900x has more latency, therefore it's recommended to invest a bit more in a faster (low timings) b-die ram memory. However, the 5900x is way easier to cool. A fairly simple 240mm AlO is enough to handle it overclocked. Not the same for the 5800x3d, which demands more cooling investments. So they both have advantages and disadvantages, and happen to land on the same ground when talking about gaming performance and pricing of the whole build. But still, after considering that, the 5900x would be a better pick since it's waaay faster at rendering or other productivity tasks.

As for the temperature, you confirmed what I said. At 80c you are already thermal throttling your CPU.
I have everything that works for the PC in good graphics and still performs good but the graphics card is way out of my budget so I decided to get a 3060 TI and then later on upgrade to 4090 when the prices go down (if it does)
Unless they need the cores for some sort of actual work load 5800x3d would have been a better and cheaper option. More expensive doesnt mean more better for everything.

The Ryzen 9 5900X it’s a really nice CPU but for example, 13900KS can give +20% extra FPS on some games on 1440p and more if you play in 1080p For that 4080 the best CPU it’s 13700K if you want to play at 4K or 7800X3D-13900K for 1440p and 3440x1440p

Hey so I have a build I recently built with almost identical specs besides it’s a Msi 4070 2x and none of my drivers installed when I downloaded windows and I’m worried it won’t let me download the drivers I alr coukdbt download windows for almost a week bc I had a bad mobo previously
RTX 3080 or better (3070ti works but the 3080 should allow for a little more fps than i get) 32GB ram (16 works but i've capped out o. ram with 16 gigs Intel I7 12700k or 13700k Those specs should run max graphics with fairly little issue

This MOBO is as well constructed as some x570’s and is more than enough for high end AMD builds. You wouldn’t have any benefit in performance.
