You know when you a huge fan of someones work and then they go and throw something this good at ya ? This has to be one of her greatest songs ever, the lyrics kill me...she's so so brilliant....few artists that have been around 36 years can treat their fans like she does....her voice has never aged, she looks 20 years younger than she is and she has got to rank amongst the best lyricists of the last 30 years...this track should have been the lead single release off the Stockholm album...
Long ago a friend of mine got me an 'all access' pass to the Warfield in SF to see the 'Boom Town Rats'. A little known band opened for them that night called 'The Pretenders'... I had never heard of them before but got treated to about a 20 minute up close and personal pre - concert sound check of them where I was immediately astounded by the lead singer, Chrissie, and thought...'wow....this chick is the real deal!' I had no idea what I was witnessing at that moment but surely wish that I could transport back in time to that moment again. I've been a fan ever since that night.
This album came our right during the high, and right through the low of a relationship for me, so this song always makes me tear up a little bit. Thank you for the words, Chrissie... and now for the lovely images to go with. Love you.

Why is the bridge edited? My fav part of the song. Dumped some of the lyrics and edited a new voice track that didint match up. Bummer. I'll have to stick with the version from that live radio show... :-(
