Instrumentally, I've always loved the guitar riff at 2:17.

Dangerously thin looking almost, with his iconic flame red shag haircut- but a genius to the day we lost his great talent...She said ' What in the hell do you want to listen to "THAT CRAP " for?" To which I replied with "I seem to remember something about you going to see Elvis at the Miami Beach Convention center to his concert"...."and do you remember what YOuR mother said to you about HIM?" And even though Ziggy wasn't her cup of tea, she told me if I liked it then it must be good! Before she passed away in 2008,she told me how much talent she watched his career grow over the years and how much she liked how his music evolved..and she told me how proud of me she was for seeing the greatness in people- that that was what was important! Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders. - Don’t get me wrong. They are one classy girl band. I enjoyed always listening to their music in the 70’s and they’ve not dated one bit. She’s got what it takes to make a song sound so good. Well Done, Chrissie.
The Pretenders were NOT a girl band. They were a band whose lead singer was a talented writer and singer. All the rest of the members of the band were English men !

Don't get me wrong
If I'm looking kind of dazzled
I see neon lights
Whenever you walk by
Don't get me wrong
If you say hello and I take a ride
Upon a sea where the mystic moon
Is playing havoc with the tide
Don't get me wrong
Don't get me wrong
If I'm acting so distracted
I'm thinking about the fireworks
That go off when you smile
Don't get me wrong
If I split like light refracted
I'm only off to wander
Across a moonlit mile
Once in a while
Two people meet
Seemingly for no reason
They just pass on the street
Suddenly, thunder showers everywhere
Who can explain the thunder and rain
But there's something in the air
Don't get me wrong
If I come and go like fashion
I might be great tomorrow
But hopeless yesterday
Don't get me wrong
If I fall in the mode of fashion
It might be unbelievable
But let's not say so long
It might just be fantastic
Don't get me wrong
Thank you.

One of the best modern day composers❗️🎼🎶🎵
Fabulous, extraordinary Chrissie Hynde, imposing a spectacular style with the play of guitars, keyboards and drums in this characteristic song from the 80's, is one of my favorites, greetings from LIMA PERU.
And I am embarking on the last journey of my life, it won't be long now, I realize I am happy that I always have been. I got more in my life than I could give myself. Good luck
A good tune and a nice video edit of The Avengers
TEMAZO DE LA MEJOR ÉPOCA , CANTANTES QUE INTERPRETABAN CON EL 💖 Y CANCIONES QUE TODAVÍA PERDURAN DESPUÉS DE 40 AÑOS,,,GRACIAS DIOS POR EXISTIR EN ESE TIEMPO,,,TIEMPOS QUE NO VOLVERÁN !!!
JAMASS.¡¡¡¡¡
Always loved Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders. Great live in concert too!
Yes, they were the best! Her voice is so beautiful.
I'm was an 80s teenager. This song makes me happy and also a little sad as I look back into the past.
Chrissie hynde ROCKS!!!
I was teen too. I know what you mean.
@@alfonsomartin6502 me, too!
Because NWO sucks
the most unique and recognizable female voice in rock. love her 🥰
80s. Great music. Original. Like this one. Music that spoke to rhe heart. Thankyou Chrissie this was and still is a nice hit.
Right from the start, it felt like Diana Rigg’s character from The Avengers. To see Steed at the end was perfect. Chrissie and Diana both beat down barriers in their respective careers.
yess! i love the whole theme for this music video. the avengers was great!
Great song!
Better video.
Obviously put together by people who knew, loved & appreciated a fun, wonderful show some of us were fortunate enough to grow up with, thank you so much & god bless Dame Diana!❤
Amo! Nao me canso de ouvir...

I'm seeing neon lights when you walk bye .....,xxxx
I like.
Chrissie Hynde, the best British singer-songwriter that America ever gave us.
Chrissie
Her voice that enters my ears is magical, from my youth I see her singing, she will forever be my muse. Thank you !
Pretenders are one of the greatest and most underappreciated bands from the 80's chrissie hynde is a geni
Después de un montón de años te vuelvo a encontrar, ya sabes un despistado pensando en fuegos artificiales . Rayos, truenos y gotas caen como lágrimas de lluvia al verte. Un cielo.
One of the best songs Publix plays. Stocking groceries and hearing this song and a few others would stop me in my tracks. Songs of melancholia..
I don't know what country you reside in but here in the US of A FEMA can confiscate provisions so..
Another fantastic song. I just love the lyrics! She's great!
I love this song.
Me too.
Roger that 😎
Sou Brasileiro. Tenho 43 anos de idade. Esta musica faz parte da minha infância. Me faz lembrar da Rita Lee na na década de 80, acho até que a Rita copiava o estilo dos Pretenders. Gosto muito. Me sinto bem quando ouço esta musica. Sou apaixonado com The Pretenders. Gosto também daquela deles - I'll Stand By You(th-cam.com/video/bLpmj059JFA/w-d-xo.html)...marcou época na minha vida.
Cadê os Brasileros por aqui?!
I lived in a small town in a Greek island with no radio stations . Me and my friend used to travel to a nearby hotel to watch video clips in their cafeteria. Music has been my best friend, my biggest dream ...
Let only music rule the world friends & let it sound just this good, let's dedicate this gorgeous track those who need to become your supporters from now on, sing along everybody ❤🎉❤
The girl has always rocked a mean hat, great style, great pipes.
Could you imagine a song made for a duet with her and Karen Carpenter? That would have been amazing if those two would have teamed.
Girls got style
You summed her up well, words I couldn't find myself.
@@sherylmac40 You must be a simpleton.
@@jessiemayhew585 Yes she DOES!!!
Chrissie has one of the best voices in music. Period.

Chrissie Hynde brings me back memories from Shropshire when I drove down the Elesmere and listened to her music from CD player.Majestic I can clearly hear all words she sings Love The Pretenders!Peat from West Slovakia ❤
"I'm thinkin' about the fireworks that go off when you smile.." 🎶🎶🥰
Cuántas veces habré escuchado está canción en mi vida. Aún recuerdo el concierto de U2, UB40 y Pretenders en el Bernabéu. Eran conciertos mágicos con más de 100mil personas

Singing no shouting. Every word can be understood. Magnificent.
Yeap! I hear ya! Feel the same and it's freaking great that a song can have that power is a gift!🤗
Dont get me wrong! Pretenders, are a timelezz rock band..!
My favourite Pretenders song--I even used the title as the title of my blog. I particularly like the Avengers vibe. Is that Vivian Stanshall "pretending" to be John Steed?
