- In my view this is the best version of the "Angel Of The Morning". Hope you'll like it too...
The first time I heard this song was watching "Friends". It's sad there isn't any better acoustic version of it, because this one can easily be called a masterpiece. Enjoy - เพลง
Stephanieeee knows all the chords 😂😂
Lol I love how Phoebe says that! :-D
Except G7 - but it's a hard chord. ☺
+Neo Vixx She can even transfer between D and Am!
G7 isn't a hard chord once you stretch out your parts of the hand to form it. Its like weight lifting. Slowly you cab strength as you do more lifting. Same thing with any guitar chord. Be patient.
interstategar I completely disagree. Making an effort is the first step on the road to failure. If at first you don't succeed - give up. If you can't manage G7 first time you try it you never will. Give up and try the ukulele. (I'm kidding.)
I loved the song instantly when I heard it in Friends. The voice and the melody is so beautiful.
Me too!!!! I have been trying for like ages to find this song !
Sameee
written by jon voights brother, chip taylor.
Juice Newton was better. Just saying.
Only a small portion of this clip was shown in the actual episode for timing constraints. It would've been better if they played the whole song and left the adverts out. Does anyone agree with me? I bet Chrissie herself was furious for the cut because she sang this beautifully.
on the dvd they do the whole version
rachel paradis indeed, I'm assuming that's how the uploader obtained the footage
gary lyons Great idea, get rid of the commercials....😒
gary lyons yes
They show this whole thing in episode
Even though this was shot twenty years back this was one of my favorite moment from friends.
Somewhere we feel so sympathetic towards pheobe and the way Rachel looks at the singer. Ah !
T K Narayanan agreed. I love this scene and the way her voice sounds with the sentiment
It was definitely the most memorable moment of any friends episode to me, mainly because Chrissie rocked it and the Pretenders is my favorite band.
Chrissie hynde's rock and roll royalty you bet Rachel was looking at her!!!
Chrissy has the greatest female rock singer voice ever!
No argument Donna.
Baron Von Grijffenbourg personally I despise Courtney but I agree with the rest
Chrissie was tough as nails, which is why she broke your heart when she showed her vulnerability. What a beautiful voice and song
To all those who think she was referring to this song, who she claimed was written about the first man she ever loved. Y'all are obviously not true Friends fans because if you were, you would know the song she was referring to was "Zachary". They just jumped straight to this scene, where she sings this song. Hence, the confusion.
I was just thinking the same! :3
Karen /o/ :)
Watching this episode right now. I love Pheobe!
i feel the same way!
Me to
we all do
*Phoebe
Which episode
There'll be no strings to bind your hands
Not if my love can't bind your heart
There's no need to take a stand
For it was I who chose to start
I see no need to take me home
I'm old enough to face the dawn
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Then slowly turn away from me
Maybe the sun's light will be dim
And it won't matter anyhow
If morning's echo says we've sinned
Well, it was what I wanted now
And if we're victims of the night
I won't be blinded by the light
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Then slowly turn away
I won't beg you to stay with me
Through the tears
Of the day
Of the years
Baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, baby
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, darling
Just call me angel of the morning, angel
Just touch my cheek before you leave me, darling
In case people don't realize this is the lead singer of The Pretenders who covered the original of this song in the 90s! Hence if you listen to The Pretenders it is her singing the lead vocal and sounds very similar.
this is indeed the best version
not in a million years, listen to Merrilee Rush and you know why
Ten million for me
@@ericroufs1 She is after all the one who made it a hit ro begin with. Matter of record (no pun intended). Imitation= sincerest form of flattery. Still true.
Indeed it is
@@wmfife1 Think you’ll find Juice Newton was the biggest hit.
She's so talented and at this point she is utterly confident of her powers. She reminds me of Johnny Cash in that way. This is a good example: everything she does is seemingly simple and straightforward, yet try to imitate it!
Chrissies voice is just so very sweet, I love her
Such an amazing voice. Her version of this song always gets to me.
adorable.... chrissie hynde's voice is beautiful and no matter how many years go by friends will always be one of my favorite television shows
Totally agreed here. The best version of this song :)
Luminas Pluvia no it's not.
she doesn't have any emotion behind it she just going through the motions
Same
@@M.O.G. yes it is
Check out Juice Newton and see if you feel the same way.
I agree with you OP. Heard all the versions available for this song, but her voice suits this track the best!
Probably the best rendition of this piece that I've ever heard.
Try the Billie Davis version.
Try the much better version by Juice Newton
Merylee Rush has a really emotional one, didn’t like it the first time but the second I fell in love. Fits the lyrics, the only one that does it imo. Others just sound nie, like the original from Evie Sands or the popular Newton one.
@@kennethlalla1779 Right there with you.
Billie
Absolutely. She was one of our icons, so that is a real slap in the face of genuine talent. Musicians like her, don't just grow on trees.😢😮😊
This song and the way she sings and thinking of friends touches my heart.
Chrissie is a wonderful singer and musician !!! I love her version of this song so much !!!
Chrissy Hynde is legendary.
yes! i found this version the best too, after hearing ALL of them..Her voice has the perfect pathos for the song...
her voice is so beautiful.
Not since Patsy Cline died have I heard heartache so clearly articulated in song. Chrissie is a nightingale, and one of the finest female singer songwriters to ever pick up a guitar, IMHO. When you can hear one note and know who it is singing it, that's talent, my friends. Tough but vulnerable, smart and beautiful. She's got it all.
She sounds so cool acoustic!
Her voice is mesmerizing.
This version is unreal. Wish there was a full version. Just realised this is quite a full version!!
there is The Pretenders version
i watched whole friends series like dozens of times and listened to the original song everytime i watched this episode but this is the first time i watched full-scene... and somehow it touches me greately.. truely a great performance
the one with the baby on the bus friends season 2 :p
wow that is what you call an artist paying tribute to another artist
wow how amazing both chrissy and bonnie are wow...the best moment of friends
Shivers down my spine.
Sooo awesome voice...Best of all the versions!!!
just heard this on 'Friends' show, have never watched the show series before n just recently got 'hooked', nice to hear some good music on the show.
Crissy is an amazing talent. Happy to have seen her performance live a couple of times, with The Pretenders, my first live concert.
The voice, the voice...! Mmmm
This is a beautifully shot and composed scene - it’s about character conflict and personal pain in addition to momentary bliss. The latter in that it’s near impossible not to surrender to the presence and musicality of Chrissie Hynde, the former two in what we unavoidably feel for the Friend we know and love, the struggling Phoebe, and also the other Phoebes among us. Delighted that in the episode itself Phoebe and Stephanie bond and even sing Smelly Cat together.
top class from a pure genius !! Thanks Chrissie
Just love this version of the song !!
Chrissy is one of the greatest female voices ever 😍
Chrissie is absolutely beautiful and what a rock star. So talented. Yes I have always had a crush 😂 apparently met her at Womad in reading around 96. But to say I was flying is an understatement 🤣🤪
By very very far the best version of this song CHILLS man CHILLS
I think the creators of the movie Deadpool are also great fans of Friends.
hasan aygünoğlu ???
I am soon to be 65 -- a fav when I was all of 8!!! It yep did exist back then!! :) Chrissy does a great job -- this song never can ya get out of your mind once you have heard it!!!
I just watched this episode on DVD... I didn't know there was a full version of this song, or even that the whole clip was shot in Central Perk
I swear I was holding my tears when I watched the show.. Stephanie (Chrissie) was a new professional singers in Central Perk Coffee House. She was replacing Phoebe who used to be singing in the cafe.
Rachel as Phoebe best friend, who was a waitress in the cafe, tried her best to make her boss keep Phoebe.
The moment Rachel stared Phoebe outside the window, who was counting the money she earned from street-performing, was actually break my heart.
Chrissie has a beautiful voice !!! We love you Chrissie !!!
I love Chrissy Hynde, she has a hauntingly beautiful voice. This song was written by Chip Taylor, and Marilee Rush did the most famous version of it.
Year is 2021 and still am listening, 🙂🙂🙂
When I heard it in Deadpool i didn't even know I had heard it before.
Then after so many years I saw this was the first time I heard this song.
Chrissy is fantastic
this is the first place i heard this song, i just love it because of Chrissie
I love all Chrissies music...awesome!
Definitely my favourite female singer of all time. Super talented, creamy and professional voice. Wonderful!
This is the best version
This version is the best and her voice is amazing
Looking for a full version of this for ages... thanks so much for posting
brings back memories......
i love you chrissie...always have, always will
So beautiful.
Thank You for sharing this Gem
I was searching for Merrilee Rush and came across this. I did not watch Friends, so this is a new one for me. Chrissie Hynde is a "local" girl who done good for herself and that is why I clicked on it to watch. What popped up next was her studio version of this song. Now I have to find the CD it is on!
If mornings echo says we've sinned I would do it again the same way.
Just absolutely love Chrissie!
i also think this is the best version
chrissie hynde is the angel ! wow the best singer ever!
Simply awesome!!
AWESOME-I SAW PRETENDERS AND STEVIE NICKS,OH MY GOD THE WERE AWESOME!!!!! MELANIE RUSH SHOULD SING HER SONG WITH THE BOTH OF THEM IF NOT 1 OF THEM!!!!!! THIS IS A GREAT CLIP OF CHRISSY HYNNE JAMMING TO THAT SONG BUT I HOPE I'LL BE ABLE TO SEE OTHER ARTISTS TAKE THAT SONG AND TAKE IT TO THE TOP,RIGHT MELANIE RUSH?!!!! KEEP ROCKING"!!!!!!!!!!!
Nostalgic ❤️☺️
definitely the best rendition of 'angel in the morning'
Such a shame this cannot be purchased anywhere. I love this cover.
You got a computer.
Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome and beautiful song
I always ,always loved her voice
I could listen to this all day!
2 season, episode 6 - The one with the baby on the bus.
One of my favorites
Chrissie looks and sings amazing. She's about 45 years old in this video. She was born in 1951, and interestingly enough she skipped all the hippie 60's and 70's music style. She was there at Kent State University during the infamous killing of a student by the national guard. She also left the country and spent time in europe to return with her unique style of music. Long live the Pretenders.
mostly England. Her book "Reckless" is a good read!
Chrissie - your voice melts my being and I think you will be my soulmate in some future existance! - hopefully!
A superb wonderful voice!
Beautiful
Unfortunately I can't find this exact version to download on iTunes. There is this song under Friends' playlist, but that version has too many drums and extra singers and such. Chrissie Hynde's solo version just on the show is amazing and I would love to get that somewhere.
yes this is my best version of angel too!
This is one of my favorite songs...the Virgo moon is here now and if that is not a sign I do not know what is....wish we had met when I lived in my cozy warm house on orchard lane.... Love Pam
never seen the long version of this scene thx
amazing
She has a very unique sense of time.
+Edmond Yeo . I agree 100%. the off-beat strumming during the verse, then on-the beat during the chorus. Nice job Chrissie.
I thought something sounded different...
Edmond Yeo
She knows exactly when to do what, to the best effect.
PERFECT VOICE
If it was up to me, when people Google the term "sentimental value" this would be the first thing that pops up. Facts.
This was a great episode.
Beautiful.
She's so fit. Fair play to her
Love Chrissie
So beautiful 🤩
Best version without a doubt 💃
And where do we get to see it? F.R.I.E.N.D.S. 💯
IN 2020
i love Chrissie.
It's well known that Chip Taylor wrote it in the 60's. I think the Chrissie Hynde and the Pretenders really made it famous.
see explanation in another post, above
It was well known in the 60s
Chrissie Hynde, She's the only
Holy Jesu Jennifer Aniston looks is so young! She looks like a high school kid. Gorgeous. And I absolutely love Chrissie Hynde. She is the REAL THING. Marvelous.
i loved it!!!!

Thank you for posting Chrissie! She's amazing!

Debby
Hey you still alive
