    I am somewhat overwhelmed by being credited the way you do it in this video - but I am definitely happy to see that my advice was of some use to you. Thanks, Joe, for putting in some effort to show the impact of the change of charger setup. Now it's just a matter of enjoying the extra energy available!

      Wauw, I was just looking for the best MPPT's to buy and the question to put them in series or parallel, now we know what to do.

      @@sailingaroundtheworld1427 Please go back and check my original comments! What this video shows you is what was the right configuration and MPPT for Jodie and Joe - based on their choice of battery (24V) and type and number of panels. Any change you make to these choices can make this recommendation void! Do not believe these recommendations are right for all setups!
      Joe chose solar panels with 9x6=54 cells, each of which are nominally around 0.5 V, meaning the panel as a whole has an open circuit voltage of around 34.1V and a maximum loaded voltage around 27.9V. Other panels have 60, 72, 90 or yet another amount of solar cells, meaning these specs will be different. On top of that the battery configuration (and corresponding voltage) impacts the maximum power the MPPTs can handle. At 12V the MPPT100/50 can handle 500W, at 24V 1000W of solar panel power, whereas the MPPT150/35 can handle 650W respectively 1300W. Given the 24V battery system and 3 of these solar panels, totalling a maximum of 900W solar power, series connection and the MPPT150/35 was the right choice for Joe. Any change you make to that setup risks making the MPPT150/35 and series connection the wrong choice for you. It may still be the right choice - but you need to check that the conditions are the right ones...

    Uhm. The indicator thing. In the OLD days indicators used to flash super quick if any bulb on that side was broken. Might be worth replacing the bulb, check the wires and make sure there's no damage. Did you replace the bulb holder too in case the terminals were damaged when the dastardly Tesco van hit you?
    I hope you get it mended.
    Only half way through your video but loving it as always!!!
    Thank you both.

    9:00 You changed the lens assembly but you put the old light fitting in the new assembly. Chances are the filament in the bulb has blown after the impact. Change the bulb as well!

    Hi guys', I came across your videos while looking for ideas when I was building my own van last year. The detail in the videos helped me and also ye are a pleasure to watch. Can I suggest a trip to Ireland for a video series. As we live in Cork we have the Blarney Stone, you know the one you kiss while dangling upside down and yer man holding you by the ankles, is only five minutes from our front door, plus the Midleton Distillery Tour and we are on the Wild Atlantic Way .....Joe, are you sure the adhesive is the best way to go to fix the fuse box to the wall, a couple of screws wouldn`t go astray. As for your indicator maybe replace the bulb. I thoroughly enjoy your vids, keep up the good work and safe travels......

    Hi Jodie/Joe
    How you 2 getting on with your travels. 😋
    Just wondered if you would recommend your craig solar panels? Im about to buy 2 of the ones you've got as ive got 2 maxx fans on my roof one at the front one at the rear.. same van L3 Boxer. Ironically ive been recommend the Victron 100/50 for my setup in 12v.

    • @JodieandJoe
      @JodieandJoe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For 12v the 100/50 is perfect you could run series or parallel and see which yields higher results.
      The Craig solar panels fit perfectly and are very subtle, they've worked perfectly for us and seem to put out good power. We have no regrets with them 😊

    There should be a button on the door between the window and mirror buttons that will put your mirrors in (if it even has it).
    Did you replaced your turn signal bulb with LED bulb? That can confuse some systems as they don't have enough resistance to recognize that they're there. Some LED bulbs have a built in resistor for this very purpose.
