I'm actually thinking of getting the golden skin now, I didn't know what a variety it comes with! 200$ is a lot for me but the patreon options make it easier to handle :)
Just wait till you get into the Patreon as well, there is so much to enjoy, you can look back at all of the old posts and see how much progress has been made.
I like that the mother gets to choose the colour, in case then clan does not want to pass on clan colours. Maybe give the mother the option to give the egg the skin options if they choose.
Aye, having some flexibility would really help keep most people happy

Played on a server called Abeocraft with you a long while ago and was looking up old videos and happened to stumble on your channel. Hope you’ve been well!

Even after hearing about the future of skin crafting before this, I'm STILL confused, lol. I'm just going to hope it's a LOT simpler when we see it in game than how it sounds now.
Adding on, I can't tell you how many thought my constellation with shimmer was a new skin, lol. I had to explain it was an effect but apparently not a lot of constellations are flying around with it on (Or who have the skin at all) so loads were/are mistaking it as something new. I can't tell if they're new players ether, or if somehow my favorite Shadow Scale skin became that rare, so people haven't seen it before.
All I know for certain is I'm so going to use the newer Bio concept skin with the purple and pink hues. The second I saw it I fell in love, but then began to wonder how much would be glow and how much would look grey/black until we hit our ability key, lol. I really thought I'd love the Bio's gold more, but after trying it out (And promptly flying beneath the test map because I forgot I swapped my flight controls and wasn't used to the default for the testing server.) I realized it just didn't feel right for me... Pretty cool to see everyone else, though!
Guess we'll see how everything looks and works out in the future.
Don't worry. It should be pretty easy to follow once its in action, and at the moment is is mostly guess work with a lot of help from what has been said about the system to this point (also checked in with the Devs so I am not too far out)

Devs felt a flying Behemoth would be way too powerful. Currently the Hybrid dragon is the largest flying dragon that is planned for the game

One thing with the breeding, you talked about seems not right to me on 6:34.
You talk about dominant skins and rezessiv ones. It looks lieke you missunderstood something.
If a gene/skin is dom or rez dont change the distribution of the genes in the outcoming eggs. Because if a inherited gene is dom or rez is only important for the expression of the gene.
The probability for a egg to get the dom gene will be 50% and to get the rez gene also 50%.
But the dominant gene will be the expressed one. In you example from 6:35 the grey dragon with the dom red gene wouldnt be grey because the red gene is dominant in your example. The dragon would be red and have a red dom gene and a rez grey gene.
But he would give 50% of his offsprings the grey gene and 50% would get the red gene.
So the picture you made to explain this problem, is not correct. The exotic skins will be inherited too. Its only a question about, if its expressed as well. Would it be rez or dom. Probably the mela skin will be dom (because dark colors normaly ar dom) and the leuc (white) one are rez. One offspring with leuc and mela genes will be black. But that dont mean the offsprings cant be white.
You are very right with your explanation of how genetics work in real life. However due to how players can design their skins with the genes they inherited, the dominant and recessive traits of the genes take effect when deciding if they are passed down not if they are expressed.
It's a really cool way for genetics to be implemented while also giving players a way to customise their dragons.

I am very curious how the system will change too.
But i hope the surprise factor will stay too.
Many people want to just select their favourite skin and go with it, but i think luck/surprise is a necessary mechanic for breeding too.
I think to have rez genes who are mabye not visible if you dont put skill points in breeding are more than enough to make breeding more interesting.
+ in one devlog they show some reworked skins and they looked sooo nice!
@@lyreamonara7133 Oh yes, the UE5 skins are going to look stunning, and I can't wait for the patterns. The patterns them self might be a more random element to the breeding system, we will have to see how it goes with testing.
I have a question since I'm still new to the game, once we spawn or nest to get a skin does is unlock in the spawn menu after dying so we can choose it again or that is only for certain skins like mela and sandworm?
Its only for certian Unlock skins like the Mela and upcoming Sandworm.

hey got the dragon patron thing i was woundering if i had to pay 100 dollars over time to get the red skin i know the gold is 200 but i am woundering abt the red one?
The Red is just $15, nice and simple. You also don't need to keep paying once you have the skin, its yours forever.
So if I am nested in with iconic skin only once on an ASD for example and grow till full adult I will unlock mela skin for all the dragon species on that server?
Yup, exactly. Once the Biolumin is adding in 1.0 it will only take an hour to grow. HOWEVER that is if the mechanic stays the same for the update

@@Tayshelaran.Draquin It comes with it. All you have to do is reach that amount in total donations. I'm on the $5 tier and just hit the $100 total donations, so have unlocked the shimmer for crimsom, in a couple of years I will unlock the gold and shimmer for all normal skins.

I wouldn't mind a system that uses color values. Instead of just straight color over color some values have a chance to be added.
So the system would start with 50% on each color being dominate if two colors are dom then instead they are added by value and create new mixed color if one is dom then it is taken. Patterns can do the same with a percentage of it being common 65% uncommon 50% and rare 35% exotic 15% over 3 eggs it should be pretty fair. Then all females should add a dom mod to color while males have a dom mod to pattern. So you find a colorful lady and cool looking dude ya gonna get some groovy kids. That is just my opinion.
Who knows, we might see a way, with high enough breeding stats, to adjust the colour value slightly, or tone.

Can someone tell me why i spawned in as a fs skin i had never got before, nearly grew to juvi, accidently died from starvation, and then in the menu i hadn't unlocked it?? Please someone tell me if you need to grow it from adult or smth, it was really fustrating.
You can't unlock skins like that. The only skin you can currently unlock is the Melanistic (black). To do this you need to raise a dragon with the iconic skin from hatchling to adult in one sitting. That would then unlock the Mela skin for all of the dragon species on that server.

Nope sorry, there are only a few skins you can select from the spawn menu, with many more hidden in the random button, and even more made through breeding particular skins together.
The only skin you can unlock in the spawn menu through playing the game is the Melanistic.
Other DLC skins can be permanently unlocked either through Kickstarter keys or Patreon keys.
@@Lusewing the skins that saved are 'night sky' 'galaxy' and 'wild galaxy' are those the only that save?
@@chonkpenguino9179 Yes those are normal skins you can pick from the game even if you are brand new to the game. There are others you can get by hitting 'random' and still more from cross breeding skins.
Ehhh I'm more interested in gameplay... that's kinda the point in games in general.
The nice thing is that there are multiple ways to play to appeal to different sorts of players. With the new game modes and adjustable settings coming with 1.0 it will really help people find a server that is just right for their play styles. Including settings that turn off breeding and set people to all have the same stats.
@@Lusewing Shit really? Sounds awesome. I just hope they have good animation for the turning of dragons during movement and everything.. Sorta had an opinion about physics-like movement vs stiff movement. The growling, groaning, and vocals overall are great but I want them to move good on the ground too. Think of The Isle's model movement. The tails sway and everything is smooth when you walk.
Have you gotten to try out the ASD? It's a wolf like drake that's very quick and nimble on the ground. You don't need the DLC to play it, you can just get nested in. The smaller Biolumin dragon coming is also very mobile, even having the ability to hover and move like a hummingbird.

It should be easier to understand once you get your hands on it
are they going to fix females being able to be renested as thier own offspring since only the males can upstat via thier own offspring? After finding this out about DOD for nesting purposes to be kind of absurd. As the female you would need to find two other players with either the same stats if not better than yours just to upstat. Then that ends up making the family tree kinda wonky trying to keep up with who all is related to you to prevent inbreeding.
They don't really want the males nesting into their own clutch but it's hard to stop the males from jumping on a different dragon. I think it would be far more likely that they will change it so that the eggs will fail if the father logs out.
@@Lusewing so eventually the devs won't allow the fathers to be nested in as thier own eggs even though they can currently?
@@bluefox8011 As it currently stands the father's technically are not nested into their own nests - the father's are killed and then the player respawns as a new dragon to then be nested into that nest. They could stop this by requiring both the male and female dragon to be online in order for the nest to be viable.
Whether they will do this or not will be up to the Devs
