I’m 60 and about 10 years ago I decided to conquer the wide grip pull-up bar at the gym... doing pretty much what you just shared here, I got it! From there a trainer friend of mine suggested I do a few pull-ups almost everyday I train, in between whatever sets I’m doing.... so that’s what I have done. I go to the bar between sets and do 3-4 pull-ups like a boss! Lol... I never progressed from that number, but hey in the course of a week I’ve done a lot of pull-ups!
Thank you very, very much, Susan. I don't know if you're still reading comments on this - but I've been attempting a chin-up for some months now. I've been VERY close for a couple of weeks but somehow couldn't get the last couple of inches (I suspect coz of a mental block). This morning, I found this video and went to "attack" the bar... and I GOT IT!! I will forever remember this moment. The bar's not my Goliath anymore ;)
I LOVE these tips!! This really changed my mindset. Susan, you've inspired me to add these to all my pull days and work up to my first chin up. Thank you!
Heck yeah! This is super helpful. A month ago I made a goal to try and get 5 bodyweight chin ups by 2020. I learned the progression from Jordan and used all your tips for the inverted row. This past week I just started my band progression and I'm so excited to keep working through these. I loved these tips, especially number 3. Attack the bar! Thanks Susan!
Yes! This is super helpful! Doing a chin up unassisted is also one of my goals, but I have been using an assisted machine to get there. Thanks for posting this!
Michelle Skieresz Thank you! Honestly they are all similar. The brand I have happens to be Power Systems but there are plenty of good ones. Look on Amazon
Very useful tips, thanks you. I'm in the green band stage at the moment, looking forward to the next step. ps: I hope the guy in the background also sees the video, he needs to use these tips asap! :D
Susan, you’re spoiling us with all this killer content :-) Enjoying this “How to..” series. Loving the insights, enthusiasm and of course those arms... 👏🏻💪😍
