Holy shit man, looks incredible. Giving me hope for the future, I got an 88 in the same color. Hopefully someday I can afford to do a full restoration!
i did not expect it to come out looking like this. than you sir, and best of luck on your project!
Man I wish I could send my truck in pieces before I head away from the west coast
Amazing results
send her on over! ill make sure she gets to you wherever you land. much appreciated on the kind words.
Work of art. That work says integrity. I have an 87’ and this would be a dream. Thanks for sharing!
thanks for stopping by, your kind words mean a lot to me and my family.
Nice to see a 4runner build sticking with the IFS
super cool rig for sure!
I just wanted to stop and say thanks to all of you who have stopped to watch, comment, and give props. this video was not expected to be such a hit. thanks for stopping to take a look, really means a lot to our small family run shop.
take care all!
Wow. You do amazing work
Thank you so much 😀
I'll be starting on my 87 4runner paint job prep soon. Going back to original silver with a black top. I can't wait to get my truck looking fresh again. This looks great. You did a great job.
thank you, best of luck on your project!
Very nice job sir. I was so excited thinking of bringing my 87 toyota pickup for you to work on it till i found out how far away you are from Nebraska, i wish you were closer
oh man, thank you for the props! Id love to help you out. and thanks for stopping by to check out my work. id encourage you to subscribe, im not going anywhere anytime soon. also, think about shipping. its easier and easier to get a rig across the country now a days. and with the cost of restoration, its a small price percentage wise. take care!
We sold our March 1989 4Runner (very last of the first Gen model) in Silver in 2020. We sold it with only 88K miles and never ever went off road. We bought it brand new but my wife had a stroke and could not drive a standard any longer. We miss the vehicle.
Very nice paint and body work.
wow, amazing you were able to keep it so long. Im very sorry to hear about you and your wife's health issues. I hope very much you have family close by and are able to enjoy life still. Thank you for stopping by to share. Take care!
@@RideRevival_Outdoor Thank you.

Awesome work!! Not a lot people these days will spend that much time straightening metal, they just throw a gob of body filler and squirt her. I have an 86 4Runner with very similar dents. Sounds like your in Oregon? I’m just north of Salem. Around how much am I looking at for a job like that?
shoot me a e-mail and we can discuss. john@riderevival.club i have very competitive pricing. id love to help you out/take a look.
Looks like a TON of work went into this and job well done! I'm curious, would it have been more cost effective to scrap the original beat up fenders and panels for fiberglass ones and primed/painted those instead?
Thank you, it was! The above is a valid point. I play this game with all these repairs. once you factor in the R/I time, and panel fitment, it is far more economical to fix these, not to mention they are vin stickered fenders and would not be OEM. very good point!
@@RideRevival_Outdoor so the R/I is quite labor intensive and simply fixing the original panels could be the better option? Obviously on a case by case basis... I’ve seen a few DIYers do the R/I with the fiberglass panels from ToyotaFiberglass.com and they said it was fairly straightforward. I’m juggling the idea of fixing some rust spots in my wheel wells vs. buying fiberglass panels. The rust isn’t too crazy but the body shop has already considered using fiberglass panels instead. Just trying to choose the best option. I would love to retain the original panels, but not ever having to worry about rust on them would be nice too!
Where did you find the plastic rear fender/rock guards?
they were on the vehicle when it came in. i think they are oem.
Nice job!! I have a 1985 4runner damage and rust free, need to give it a new paint job, Im tired of white paint. where are you located?
thanks! we are in Dallas Oregon.
Hi again, is this Magnetic Grey Metallic?
Where ya located 🤣 i need to come find ya! What was this 7k? 10k?
im out in Oregon, your thoughts on pricing are in the right ballpark. Hit us up anytime!
I’m in California how can I get work done by you on my 4Runner?
we would just have to arrange shipping or transport. not a big deal at all. John@RideRevival.Club is my e-mail if you would like to chat and exchange some pictures. thanks for reaching out, looking forward to seeing your project.
Where would I find your pricing for painting a 4Runner like this?
im sorry i missed this, if you follow the links in the description it will take you to the website where you can fill out a contact me, or find our direct contact info. Appreciate the interest in our work, apologies for the delay!
Do you happen to know the lift size
i dont, unfortunately
Got a question, I have a weeping leak on the floor board on the driver's side of my 1985 4runner, only happens when it rains, any idea where I should look to fix this? let me know, thanks!
id suspect the windshield corners.
@@RideRevival_Outdoor Makes sense,, I will have the windshield replaced and eliminate the chrome trim with the Toyota factory rubber gasket/trim. Thanks for pointing me into the direction. will keep you posted.
@@dundeeecroc please do, we tried every combo of glass part number and gasket number, jdm or not, and nothing worked to allow us to do the rubber seal. if you get it to work, please let me know the parts used, where and what the glass came from ect. we could not make it work, and go the LAST NOS stainless set in the US for 1st gen runners. super curious what you come up with.
What size tires was he running and what lift ? Thanks!
33/10.5/15 and im not sure what the lift is. shackles and torsion bar twist from what i could see.
Man nice job what was the price tag on that baby
all in around 8k.
@@RideRevival_Outdoor you killed it man it looks great I can only imagine how happy the owner was
@@jonathanyocom4404 thanks man! i appreciate that. i put a lot of work in and do my best to keep the price low. appreciate you stopping by!
Why is the air filter bigger than the engine block lol
LOL, more air more poo?
where is the obvious, th one and onlyy shell. what about the storms, winter summer
Im not sure i understand your meaning here.
