I've been doing my own braids since I was in high school, like at least 7 years now. But yeah that's the reason I either keep the sides completely gone/faded when the middle is long, or keep it all one length. I tapered my hair for the first time recently and I'm trying to be patient and not cut the top off this time so we'll see how this goes. I got a second channel, but it's just for me to keep track of everything I've done to my hair

Don’t give up... keep practicing. A few tips from a kind place🙂: stretch your hair before braiding. When you get to the point in the braid where your own hair is ending, add a little gel or jam to it. And slow down and smooth it as you go. It’ll stop that frizziness!
When "the girls of the other side of the skin tone spectrum" compliment me on my hair fails it's something I look forward to bc they think it looks good and my high school is predominantly that light skin tone so I go to school lookin bad sometimes and they love it. Weird really😂😂 but I appreciate their love😂😂. Tbh my endd are so blunt too and it's so annoying because I can't even Twist my hair without any ends popping out😒. Does anyone have any suggestions to helo a sista out?

I have a blunt cut and still trying to figure out how to braid without the ends popping out. Twists work well though because you twirl the strands. Maybe twirl the braiding strands before braiding ?
That's a good idea. Yeah, I have trouble with braids now too I'm thinking of just installing crochet locs and wait until my hair grows a bit longer to shape my ends. My hair is in the middle of short and medium length, so I think letting it grown out more might help the ends? Idk haha

You can cure the "itchies" by soaking the braiding hair in vinegar. .. just learned that last month.. idk why it's not more commonly known, but spread the word.
It didn't look thaaaat bad it was kinda cute. The best way to avoid this problem is to part your hair and then just install saves so much time because then you don't get frustrated either and your arms ain't that tired
