    The Eastern Sierras are what really made me fall in love with California. I hiked to Palisade Glacier once; it was one of my favorite moments in the backcountry. But this bike trip, holy shit, what an amazing adventure.

    I watch lots of videos like this. I still don't understand how up to 17K people can have watched this amazing quality video and only 942 have given it a thumbs up. Either some people have insane standard of expectation, or they can't be bothered, which seems unfair given the time and effort that went into making this. The quality of this is as good as some documentaries on Netflix etc. Hope you get more thumbs up and subscribers soon Dan. You deserve them. Stay safe.

    Hey!! Eastern Sierra resident here. I'm not sure when exactly you were passing through the area, but PLEASE be cognisant of fire bans. They can happen at any time of the year, and they happen quite frequently. For anyone else passing through, please check the Forest Service website in advance. Also, Sierra plural is just Sierra :)

    Great Dan! The Sierras are beautiful. I have photographed Bodie at night several times and had one of my photos as a centerfold in their calendar. I've been up and down CA 395 several times. I'm potentially going in a week to photo snow up there. If you're up for it you can climb Mt Whitney straight up from Alabama Hills! You missed Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest @ Big Pine - (4,000 old trees) & Caltech Owens Valley Radio Observatory. I drive thru DV, Lol. Last time I was at Furnace Creek it was 129 deg F (54 C). I never have seen water at BW - Thank You! Be Safe Buddy Love the Videos!

    Great video! One of the more beautiful drives in the Lower 48. I bet you’ve realized this since then, but those glaciers weren’t the last in N. America - you’ve got a few more to see in Mexico (if you take a long detour to the central Mexican highlands around Mexico City to see the volcanoes- Popo, Itza and Orizaba).
    I’ve driven all of these roads you’re seeing (and a lot of the ones you’re going to see), but biking them while filming is another thing altogether. Thanks for the videos and the memories - you’re inspiring me to get back out on the road!

    These are super well done, man. So good.
    I rode that highway OUT of Vegas heading into Death Valley many moons ago. I wild camped off the road a ways as well. I was starting to pack up in the morning when I heard something running through the sage at me, and I FELT it through the ground. Thump, thump, THUMP!
    Then a HUMONGOUS jackrabbit leapt out the bushes and ran past me. I've never seen a rabbit that big before. The ears were as long as my arm! Also scared the shit outta me.
    Anyways. Enjoying the journey, and the memories!

    The extra effort you go to get some of these shots has not gone unnoticed. Setting the camera up 100-200metres off the trail to get that wide ride by shot, then going back to retrieve the camera. And you would have had to walk right back up that huge sand dune, right!

I just got back from riding my bike 3 weeks in southern Alaska and I am planning on perhaps riding next year for 4 weeks from San Francisco to Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and down to Kings Canyon and Sequoia NP and Mammoth Lake to Death Valley to Las Vegas and come home. I was wondering how was dealing with getting water around Death Valley? Any information would be highly appreciate it . Cheers.

      Awesome you'll have a great time! Death Valley was really easy for water as it's a national park theres a few little towns where you can get anything you need. You will want to carry a fair bit for the ride out to Las Vegas though as you probably won't get any until the next day depending on your route

    How's it feel to put your life in other peoples hands.Not just one but thousands of random people a day that have to react so they don't hit you while you mindlessly ride your bicycle on a little strip of pavement along the side of hwy 395.Like to gamble do you? I've been a cyclist all my life but I would never do that because I'm also a truck driver.If you knew how many times someone almost hit you but did something at the last minute to not you'd never do it again or maybe you would maybe your just an idiot.Ask your Dad. what he thinks about you relying on random drivers to take evasive action to not hit you.The area is full of secondary gravel routes use them.Yes bicycles have a right to be on the road you also have the right to lather your self in bacon grease and sleep out in grizzly habitat.

    the undeclared war and slaughter of sailors at pearl harbor was beyond deplorable the treatment of prisoners of war by the japanese was beyond deplorable. the interment of the japanese probable saved many hundreds from mob violence. the only thing regrettable was the conditions they were keep in. you would do well not to comment on history that you know little about.

    • @twowheeladventures63
      @twowheeladventures63 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Wow, I would advise you to not speak on history that you do not understand. The only regrettable thing was the conditions? How about the fact that these were Americans who were stripped of their Constitutional rights (5th amendment, writ of habeas corpus, etc.). They were stripped of their businesses, homes, schools, churches, etc. They lost their entire livelihood and they did NOTHING wrong. These were women, the elderly, children, etc, not the Japanese, who were put into these camps for multiple years. Is that point lost on you? If you feel it was for their safety, then you may be familiar with the quote "why were the guns at the guard towers pointed inward, instead of outward?"
