    Those two together would make a great collection. Once Nomos sorts out their bracelets and provide longer power reserves they will be better overall than Rolex imo. Great video, thanks.

    Totally agree, although mine is the Nomos Club Sport 42 in blue. The dial, size, bracelet, screw down, 300 w/r and date are for me perfect. I’ve been selling my collection because this Nomos has found a permanent spot on my wrist. In my opinion it is a Datejust killer.

      Oh I love the 42mm as well, what an excellent watch it is! Also love the detail for example on the crown which the 37mm doesn't have (to show when it is open vs closed). Personally, my small wrist just agrees more with the 37mm in this case :-)

    Great video man, hard to pick one! I think each bring different things to the table. Kudos to Nomos for stepping up their game with this model.
    Keep up the great work 👍🏼

      I have the explorer and bought the nomos petrol but dont think that it can replace the explorer. Rolex is still king and feels more secure as a daily driver.

    The Nomos offers excellent value and quality, but the Rolex is a far better watch. I like a screw down crown after some unfortunate experiences with previous watches, and I like an independent hour hand because I live in the UK and it's convenient for travelling. So, my one watch collection would be the Omega Aqua Terra 41 Small Seconds (blue dial on a strap) or the Tudor Black Bay Pro. Your video is an interesting comparison though: thank you. 😊

      Interesting choice for the collection!! The Omega AT sure does make for a perfect one watch collection as well, just didn't have one handy ;-)

    What kind of magnetic field protection does nomos watch offer? In comparison to superlative chronometer’s offerings.

    I think the Rolex wins. But the Nomos is also an attractive watch and if you don’t want to spend the money on the Explorer, a good alternative. Myself being a lume fan I think I would go for the Explorer. But to have both would be the best possible option. 🕐⚙️🍸

    • @degriff
      @degriff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed - and I hope it was clearly mentioned in the video, of course no direct comparison, the prices are completely different. However, point I was trying to make is that the NOMOS catalogue definitely has something very nice to offer (at a totally different price) for the “only Watch” question. And also - it can sit next to a Tolex and feel no shame whatsoever :-) Thank you for watching and leaving a comment/feedback, much appreciated!!

    Roland Murphy of RGM watches recommends not having a screw down crown- unless you really need it. Think in terms of Elon Musk- the best part is no part. (screw down crowns often wear out)

    • @degriff
      @degriff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fully agree. If a screw down crown can be avoided, I’m all for it. On our Nomos Limited edition from 2021 (?) we also opted for no screw down crown for this reason 👍 thanks for the insight!

    • @yusufbest4475
      @yusufbest4475 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its really not though. I have 114270 and the nomos sport 37.. better daily driver is still the 114270 hands down.. more solid case, nomos is closer to a dress watch

    • @tongotongo3143
      @tongotongo3143 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Please describe your scientific methodology how you established your thesis that your mentioned wristwatch case is “more solid”. Thank you.

    • @yusufbest4475
      @yusufbest4475 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tongotongo3143 there is no need for rocket science. The rolex movement is more shock resistance and more anti magnetic, screw down crown gives added security for water resistance, the case is more solid and stable when compared to Nomos thinner case, and it is made of higher grade steel with white gold indices. The movement also factually has higher beat rate and have higher power reserve. The case and bracelet are not fully polished, and therefore less prone to scratches. The nomos polished clasp is a scratch magnet. Better and longer lasting lume. We are talking about the 114270, a vintage discontinued rolex here. The modern rolex of course is even more secure with upgrade in movement and bracelet. Therefore, rolex is 'more solid'.

    • @yusufbest4475
      @yusufbest4475 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tongotongo3143 also, it is based on my observation as owner of both watches. I thought I would like the nomos more but the 36mm explorer is still the better one to me..
