Pitch to contact and let your defense do its job. How else is someone going to pitch into their 40s?? Just wish deGrom would figure that out and stop throwing so hard, so he can, you know, actually pitch.
how's making these selection you crazy , then i see the decade oh crap . Props the the best infield in baseball ray, ventura , alfonso and big john olerud miss those days
@@jjmonger6881 Wow, the WC game catch was so iconic, I assumed that was the one included until your comment made me rewatch to check. Better catch, better moment, bigger impact in a scoreless winner-take-all duel of aces I saw Granderson make a postseason catch with Thor on the mound and assumed it was that one.
God, I forgot about the Pagan triple play and how long it took for they to decide on the call. Also, so many names that I forgot that wore a Mets jersey
I disagree with the ordering of this. The Baxter play was huge because of the implications, but it was not better than the Lagares double shoestring catch and Lagares' robbery was not even better than the Lagares double shoestring catch, I guess we all have our own opinions though. I think the Pagan triple play is the best of these and Matz is #2, Lagares shoestring #3. McNeil is #10 of these. It's equivalent of the jeter play where he cut up his face except he had a net.
side note, if i remember correctly, i think Lagares also hit a home run in that game and it's pretty rare for a player to hit a home run and rob a home run in the same game.
The Mets need to keep Baxter on pay roll. Without him (and ofc Santana but hes been paid well) we would still be looking for our first no hitter in 2020. Somewhere Ms.Joan Whitney is turning in her grave
#1 isn't a top defensive play, it's just terrible judgement on the part of the third base coach. The actual assists and putouts themselves were routine.
Mike Baxter sacrifices his career for that no no. Respect
Both him and Santana seemed to. Baxter more immediately.
No kidding. He's kept that no hit bid alive with that catch.
if there was an instant reply back then, there would be no no-hitter.
@@mgg8605- But they didn't, and it was.
Spoiler.....both careers ryuined and not a no hitter....thank Beltran
I’m surprised that the Carlos Torres-Daniel Murphy play in Philly wasn’t on here
I thought for sure that was #1
Michael Springer me too, we even got the Gary Cohen “Oh wow! The play of the year!”
Was just about to say that.
I agree fully
i was waiting for that one the whole video
"They ran on Cespedes, and he said oooooooooohhhhh no you don't!"
God I love that call.
I love how the team
Would rise to the occasion when Colon was on the mound
How the hell is Juan's double catch only #8. That's literally a near impossible catch to replicate
Davis catch has to be in this
If only Duda made that throw to TDA in the WS 🙃
Or if familia could’ve closed game 1 like he did all fucking year
I’m sorry who is TDA (is it trav)
@@colin5484 Yes
@@tylermcgrew4035 thanks
@@colin5484 No problem
Colon was pitching on almost every clip 😂
😂

The Baxter play was right- well done!
Gonna miss Juan’s glove just sucks that he couldn’t figure out the bat
Mike Baxter should never have to pay for a drink in New York ever again.
Grandersons wild card game catch was a great one too
Ike Davis's railing catches need to be on here
Colon behind the back to first.
Mike Baxter will always be remembered for this
Sweet memories. Keep piling them up boys! Former and current Mets are the best! LFGM 2021!!!❤
Was wondering what play would be #1, but seeing Mike Baxters catch in that spot is just top notch respect.
Where is jd Davis Willie Mays catch
god i cant wait for spring. i feel at home when gary keith and ron are going crazy in the booth
That was a SICK catch by Matz
0:16 the power of big sexy possesses the Mets infield for just a moment
The first was just a dumb play by Puig. He does those often
Ik every Mets fan can agree that we all respect Baxter, he sacrificed his career for a no hitter.
Cespedes has a better throw against the pirates
Cespedes throw vs pirates?
how's making these selection you crazy , then i see the decade oh crap . Props the the best infield in baseball ray, ventura , alfonso and big john olerud miss those days
Murphy to Torres is still the craziest play I ever saw in real time. And I saw Buckner.
How was the Granderson catch in the Wild Card game not there?
@Vincent Cuttolo The catch here was against the Cubs in the '15 NLCS. The Wild Card game catch was against the Giants in '16.

Thank you Mike Baxter!
Baxter definitely gets #1 already knew before I watched lol
The Cespedes throw in deep left center against Pittsburgh.......I was in the building 4 that.
Colon behind the back only #5
its nice seeing #8 I was there that day and I was turning 4 in a couple of days
The Endy Chavez home run robbing , double play catch in the NLCS is not in here?
Geez, how old am I?
Colon is on the mound for like all of these
2:50
Thanks for watching
Not surprised that Colon was pitching in most of these games.
I went all the way through this video before I realized it was only Mets players
No kick play to Murphy and no Curtis granderson catch in the wild card game

Sooo we just gunna forget about the Carlos Torres/ Daniel Murphy play?
RIP Mike Baxter
Baxter just saved that no hitter he risked his life for a no hitter
We all knew it would be Baxter, but why would you spoil it in the thumbnail picture?
rey ordonez outstanding
Granderson's HR-robbing catch was better than Lagares's?
Sure seems there were better plays than the rather ordinarily # 10, 7 and 6
What about endy chavez' cach ?
What happened to the Endy Chavez catch?
That was in 2006, this video is 2010-2019
How was Cespedes throw against the Pirates not on this list?
Number 5 is my number 1
Too bad Lagares never became a more productive offensive player. Dude could make plays in the OF.
Mike Baxter sacrifices his career for a one-hitter.
Matz: "Look what I found!" 😀
2:26 Baez, a future Met.
How's Granderson's catch in the WC game not #2?
Colon is the best player to ever play for the Mets, prove me wrong
How is Cespedes throw vs pirates not on here?
#1 isn't a top defensive play, it's just terrible judgement on the part of the third base coach. The actual assists and putouts themselves were routine.
When did Wright make that bare handed over the shoulder diving catch
Well he played about 5 games in the past 7 years, so probably before 2010.
el diesel I looked it up was 2005
I didn't realize the Met's were the only team playing defense.
Justin Ellis ikr
Murphy’s behind the back should be here
are you kidding?!!! the Murphy Torres play in 2015 not here? how about Granderson in the wild card game in 2016?
We want Baxter back home
How is it that not one Rey Ordonez play here ?
more juan lagares
Poor Mike Baxter. That basically ended his career.
Too bad Duda couldn't make that throw in the World Series...
0:56 ... someone dail 9-1-1 .... 3:24 hes a Glove Glover for a reason.
My fellow Bartolo!
Bartolo Colon 5?!?! He should be 1 (;
Forgot the pop up that A ROD hit...
I was at the mcneil game!
Mike fucking Baxter. Never forget.
How is Cespedes throw against the Pirates not on this list
Como no esta la de Endy Chávez doble plat
Why is Granderson's Giants catch not here
Conforto should be on one of these. Def dont agree with the order lol
i already know tolo's behind the back
LGM LETS GO METS
How is that num 6 let alone 1 of the plays of the decade?
Damn I wanted Baxter to do good
Luagaers got relished
Wheres the jd davis catch on the 22 of august #atthatgame
how is number 8 in here? that isn't a top play that is an almost blooper.
Lazy list. Why is Cespedes at #6? That wasn't even a good throw.
Really? No Mark Buehrle?
The catch by endy Chavez should be on here
Evan MacDuff wrong decade
That was 2006 ..........this video from 2010-2019
I’m surprised the most athletic player ever Bartolo colon isn’t n here. LGM.
My flip behind the back wasn’t here
Bartolo Colon 2:51
C'mon big man! I think your age is starting to show
David Wright Bare Hand?
Not this decade. That was way back in his early years. Somewhere around 2005-7.
David’s catch bear handed ????????
Wasn't that before 2010?
it's a triple play....of course the inning is over. i don't need to be told that
Ummm. ENDY CHAVEZ?
BARTOLO!!!!!!
Endy Chavez??
Matt Domingo left the Mets after 08??
Nick Venditti ha, you are right! i forgot that HR saving catch he made was in 2006! time sure does fly.
@@mattydomingo 10 years goes fast 😅
Endy's catch was last decade 2006. Not within 2010 to 2019
