Human and Evolutionary History Documentary | Chapter 3 PODCAST

Most of the stories I've told over the course of 2 chapters so far were a small reflection of our ancestors' struggle to survive on the African continent. It is thought that the strongest Homo erectus remained after millions of years of natural selection on this continent.
Homo erectus was discovered by Eugénes Dubois in 1891. He named it Pithecantropus erectus, meaning "man who walked upright," considering it to be the first upright human, as it was discovered much earlier than other pre-human species. Dubois thought this fossil was biologically close to living human and other ape species.
By comparing these skeletons, he laid the foundations for modern paleoanthropology. The years when Homo erectus broke the borders and discovered the world date back to an estimated 1 million years ago. It is thought that this species lived from 1.8 million years ago to 400,000 years ago, and even up to 27,000 years ago in some regions such as Java.
The longevity of Homo erectus, its spread in various regions and its ability to adapt easily make it the most successful hominid species in fossil remains. Fossils and acheulean stone tool technology found around the world show that Homo erectus reached Europe from the Near and Far East. Homo erectus continued to use these stone tools for almost millions of years, with minor changes, for generations.
Like every child, I was a curious and inquisitive child. I can only say that growing up and becoming an adult did not stop me from this sense of discovery. Sea, nature, history and science have been my interests since my childhood that kept my desire to live alive.
