  • Early results from Italy's election show a clear victory for an alliance of right-wing parties, paving the way for Giorgia Meloni to become Italy's first female prime minister and its first far-right leader since Benito Mussolini. But record low turnout has cast a shadow over the poll.

Call her “far-right” or “fascist” all y’all want. She clearly cares about Italy and it’s pretty evident that the politics Italy has played the past 50 years has not been working for Italians AT ALL. Good for her! 🇮🇹

You are not Italian and you do not know what you are talking about. She doesn't care about our country, not from a socio-economic point of view. The only things she aims at are: blocking immigration (as if immigrants were the cause of our malaise), abolishing the law on abortion, rigidity against the LGBT community. Besides, it seems right that a rich entrepreneur has to pay taxes at the same level as a worker who barely makes ends meet ?? !! In a normal country, the rich pay the highest taxes and, conversely, those who earn the least. But unfortunately Italy is not a normal country

If calling her far-right will get engagement (views and comments) for a news outlet, they will happily do it. That is the sole purpose, to get more viewers. It doesn't matter if the comments are against the video. The only people laughing here are DW news.

Greetings from far right ruled Hungary! Dream on, fascist politicians will never fight corruption as promised they will just make corruption multiply and far worse to benefit their friends and families. I speak from experience. Back before 2010 we had a fairly corrupt center-left system which pissed us off, now we have Orbán in power we eat corruption for breakfast, also for lunch. We eat and breathe corruption now, there is nothing in this country that not gets stolen to benefit the ruling party and its oligarchs. She praised Mussolini in an interview when she was younger, she is the leader of the direct descendant of the fascist party (PNF->MSI->AN->FdI). She isn't properly fascist, she is post-fascist: the fascist ideology is rivisited and understands it has to take power democratically. There are also disciples of Stalin in Italy, but they don't have a mainstream party: Potere al Popolo, Partito comunista Italiano, rifondazione comunista are all communist parties but all combined have less then the 3% of the votes. So, yes: Meloni is a disciple of Mussolini, but she won't install a dictatorship in Italy

Fascism is defined as a movement towards conservatism and nationalism as compared to communism and internationalism.
The symbol of fascism is the fasces, a bundle of sticks tied together in unity. Fascism is not about corporate control at all, it’s symbol is a nationalist symbol.
The idea that Fascist leaders had was that the nation has to be run in the interests of its own people, culture, heritage, traditions, values, and freedoms.
The government has to defend its own people and the future of its own people. It’s always been opposed to aristocracy. Instead it was a movement in the interests of the middle class.

For some years, Brussels started to grow more as a dictator that has more saying on the local stage, starting changing traditions & culture to accommodate their views.
