Man, I love you. You have given me the motivation I needed to renovate my house. I've been living here since 2015 (Puerto Rico) , and then Hurricane Maria came and I lost everything. I have been depressed for years and finally I am getting the motivation/ inspiration I needed. I definitely want a farmhouse style which it is not common here and I am excited to start in 2022.
I'm excited and extremely Happy for you. I'm so sorry you lost everything. It's so sad what happened to a lot of people PR. My Brother lives there and he lost the house that his Grandmother left him, but fortunately with God's help, our Family and Friends, we were able to put some money together and help him re-build. Good luck in your new chapter next year. May the Lord continue blessing you and keep you and your Family safe. Much love to you and your family Esme. Que Dios te Bendiga. ❤❤❤
You guys are seriously amazing!! I really appreciate all your kind words and encouragement!! I know it will not be easy as there is a lot to do but I will take it step by step. 💜💜💜
We painted our kitchen cupboards last year. We were quoted £17,000 to replace kitchen and utility room cupboards. We painted (paid someone to paint), changed out dated 80's tile to bevelled subway tile, painted, new cupboard hardware and put up coving for less than £1,600. Our old cupboards were shaker style which we were still looking at. We are so pleased with it. I love you butcher block and what we call Belfast sink the best. We went lighter cupboards.
All, all and all is my favourite. I only can dream a kitchen like yours. So elegant. I never thought I like dark colours in kitchen but looks absolutely amaising and of course my favourite colour is blue so you can not go wrong. U R a 🤩🤩🤩😍💝💖💗💓💞 Danie👍🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖🖖
I feel really bad because I’m a LONG time watcher and I think this is my first time commenting and it’s not the most positive thing - make sure to run a bead of silicone around your sink where it Mets the counter top otherwise water will get in the edge grain and warp your beautiful new counter tops!! Looks fantastic though you’ve put so much love into it!!
Jeffrey's face when you said "the catch of the day" was absolutely hilarious! Your kitchen makeover has turned out beautifully, I love the color, the butcher block counter, the farmhouse sink, the new color on the stools and all the accessories work so well together.
Danie, I'm an old woman of 73 yrs . I loved everything you're doing to your kitchen especially the sink and countertop. But most of all , I love. Your beautiful purple hair. Lol. Love you Danie and will be watching your future video's. Young at heart old Bernie
Kitchen of dreams. Those final shots are so beautiful i got a lump in my throat! Id vote to keep the rest of countertops and backsplash as they are because they look beautiful with the cabinrt color and also allows the butcher block island shine as the “pièce de résistance” ❤️
As a fellow nerd, I truly appreciate the nerdy references throughout your videos! That intro part about the dragon had me laughing out loud! (P.S. Yes I am totally bad at skipping ahead in a book to see if the hero wins the day lol)
I love the finished kitchen. I will say the overall view of the room. Everything looks great together. But it probably is the butcher block counter that I love the most. Enjoy your new kitchen! ❤️
Drop the mic girl! Amazing work. The best part in my opinion was your jokes, comments and laughs during the kitchen reno. The main part for me😀. Just to be clear I'm enjoying your videos and different ways how you came up with some stuff and ideas. The light near the window is just beeaaaauuutiifuuul 👌. Love it! Woohoooo
My only complaint was the disappointment when the video ended. I wanted to hang out in that kitchen for awhile. I love that your FarmHouse kitchen isn't stark white, and buffalo check, like the majority of the images I see. The fun pops of color, mix of metals, and texture is...... *chef's kiss*
I just have to say you’re videos being me so much life. Like literally, there are moments where everything feels unbearable but watching you, expressing yourself so boldly freely and happily, inspires me and it always makes my day brighter. Thank you for being you . 💕 sending much love (you’re like the sun, I’d be in the dark without you. You know I had to give the queen of puns a pun )
As usual, I’m enjoying this so much. Great decision to make that corner into a nice round swoop. I love this kitchen! I get the feeling that Geoff has a nice dry sense of humor which complements your more ebullient sense of humor.
I really appreciate Jeff. He accepts her DIY and her kookiness. He is agreeable to be her handyman. He lives with the DIY. Does he have an an area for himself? She has a studio, a she shed/carpentry space, an inside craft room, the office and the whole house.
You are such an inspiration, Danie ♥️ You work so hard and are among the best content creators out there. I really wish your subscriber count blows up because you totally deserve it. The kitchen is BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely beautiful. My favorite part was EVERYTHING. Can’t hype you enough. And a big shout out to Jeff. 🖐🏽 (That’s a high five)
Oh my gosh it’s GORGEOUS!!!! For me I think the biggest thing was actually the simple thing of painting the edge of the tile countertop in the back. It makes that countertop look like it *belongs* in the kitchen, adding some lightness and texture to an otherwise gorgeously moody and sleek kitchen. But it seriously came together and it’s such an incredible transformation I can’t BELIEVE it’s the same kitchen!!! It looks a million times better
Wooow the final look is great! The two videos really highlight how much Jes, Geoffrey and yourself have accomplished to make it look like that. Good job Team Danie!
Wow. That perfect, smooth curve with the jigsaw is SOOO impressive. Gonna have to take notes about starting in the middle. I love the new kitchen. Massive improvement in color and just the overall vibe. Congrats!
yesss you should do white quartz countertops and white subway/rectangular tile backsplash!! Would look great with your whole look. Everything looks so good!!!
Daniiiieeee! The finished result is just breathtaking! I legit started to tear up during the outro. There is so much personality and love that went into the dining room and kitchen. I just know it would feel like a warm hug to walk into your home. Congrats to a job well done! You are such an inspiration!
It looks amazing! I love how warm it feels all put together, with the moody kitchen and the brighter dining area linking into one another with the finishing touches :)
Honestly, I am like Danie. Everyone says I am weird or too happy or too dramatic. I like all the puns and the dances and self mocking for making stupid mistakes. 😂 I love me and I love you Danie !
As always, I absolutely love what you did to your kitchen! It is warm, inviting and beautiful! Your passion is evident in all you do and that's why I keep watching. Thanks for sharing your adventures of turning your home into your dreams!
OMG girl. I was completely choked up and had tears in my eyes at the final reveal. It turned out so amazingly beautiful! I love it! Thank you so much for all you do.
Thank you for such a chill saturday morning before work! My pack appreciates the extra cuddle time. Favorite things (can’t pick) the new butcher block top and the copper stools!
Wow! Wish I could join you in your beautiful new kitchen! You inspire so many people with your hard work, vision, and creativity. Wish I was younger and could start over to learn how to tackle all these projects. Thanks for starting off my Saturday with such good feelings! Take care of Geoffrey, Kenobi, and yourself!
Absolutely love the finish product. The colour of the cabinets looks blueish on camera but I think it's beautiful! My favourite is the island (butcher's block and sink) and, as always, the editing was hilarious 😂
Danie! It turned out SO GOOD. I was holding in all my thoughts until after part 2 so I could see the whole picture 😂 The color ended up looking great, I’m so glad you went back and changed up the stools, the sink, the butcher block, the colors! I can’t get enough!
AMAZING!! It looks so stunning and with all the thrifted goodies bringing it all together it looks so seamless and collected at the end!! Another stunning transformation!! 💕
Wow honey wow 🔥💯🔥🔥🔥 I cannot believe the young woman you have become and the strengths and the knowledge and the beauty that you now create 🤭 I am just so darn proud of you ❣️ I am one of your viewers that is actually 50 and I've been an interior designer and decorator for about 20 years, in a large city actually in Seattle Washington which is not where I live right now but that's where I worked... And I just every room turns out beyond beautiful extremely well executed and designed and decorated, but for me it was always the hands-on I didn't stand back and let the hired workers do the job I was always in there tearing things apart pulling it down redoing it refinishing it hands-on all the way 💯 And you have just shown that kind of strength, ability to learn even when you make mistakes or it's not easy you've shown everybody that you can do it and that they can do it and I think that is absolutely amazing 💝 You are truly a gift to everybody young older and everything in between and your personality is just something that I enjoy coming back for over and over again 😍❣️❣️❣️❣️ I love the fact that you are beautiful inside and out, that you show your fun nerdy as a compliment... Excited energetic amazing womanhood it's such a blast to watch and I love the end product every time 💯%❣️😍❣️😇❣️❣️❣️
I love Jeff's dead pan reaction to you. It is absolutely perfect. Regarding the perimeter counter I think white quartz would be perfect to reflect the light from the window. Love you and your creativity ❤
Sigh, I can't help thinking how bright, how warm, how sunny and welcoming this kitchen would be if the paint was white instead of cracked pepper. Yes, I went there, but I still love you. XOXO
That butcher block is STUNNING. I definitely think quartz or some other stone would be a great complement to the warmth of the wood. Thanks for showing the realities of DIY!
What is my life that I missed this last week? Anyhow, Danie, one word: GORGEOUSNESS. That kitchen is wonderful, and doubly so because yo made it yourself. My favorite thing is the curve of that tabletop. Also, love the copper with that cracked pepper. Kudos, kiddo! A joy forever. Congrats!
My favorite part was you waiting for Jeff to disassemble! Couldn't have been easy for you. True love. The butcher block is beautiful. Love the stools in the copper look and with the stain. As a mom, I would round all the corners of the island because little heads will run into them and need stitches and hips of adults will bump them too and they hurt. Love your use of red and blue and color in general. Love the stains you chose. They really are rich and warm. Enjoy the new kitchen!!!
A tip I heard before I moved into my current house was to put a small amount of each of your house paints into a jar (plastic top is best as there's no risk of rust) and keep those jars somewhere easily accessible in your house - label each jar with what room the paint is in. It is the best thing I've ever done. If I need to paint over a scuff or fill a hole, instead of going out to the garage and picking through tins trying to remember the name of the one I need and lugging a whole damn pail of paint back into the house, I just go to my cleaning cupboard and find a conveniently sized and labeled jar and get the touch-up done in less than 10 minutes.
The kitchen looks amazing!!! My vote for the back counter would be to continue the butcher block and make it match. It brings such a beautiful natural warmth to the kitchen while still complementing the dark cabinets ❤️
I cannot even tell you how relatable your show was today.. I have been sanding and staining a dining room table for really close friend of mine.. Now I've done this before for my furniture but never for anyone else notes and the stress of the poly is enormous.. I'm not an expert I wasn't sure but everything I read said go with an oil based polyurethane so you don't get watermarks on it. The stained table has been sitting on work horses in my spare room for over a week . I finally went in after watching and put the poly on the table.. Thanks for being an inspiration..love your courage and style!!
Absolutely gorgeous! The butcher block counter was the right choice as well as the rounded corner. Did not care for the straight cut at all. Love the blue vase too! So perfect! Well done to you and your partner 👏👏👏
This kitchen came out FANTASTIC. I love the butcher block on the island, the cracked pepper for the cabinets was amazing. Honestly, I wouldn't touch the other countertops unless you just really want to. I think they go well with everything else you've done and it's a huge improvement from before.
i love the countertop! the pride on your face when you turned on the faucet is priceless and i thought to myself, "wow, that is really bad ass." love your work!
It's so nice to know that mine is not the only family team that needs to fit something multiple time before it's right. 😆 And the touches of red in decor! I have my red canisters in the kitchen and my mom's old red glass in the dining room.
Oh my goodness, Danie! Those stools against that cracked pepper paint...😲😍 And I adore the butcher block. I also love that you added the touches of blue- unexpected and adorable. ☺️

Ahhhhhh So glad you are recovering from Maria! That was a nightmare. High and dry in NM but I felt your pain.
I’m so glad you found your spirit again. Wish you all the best and send you some love ❤️❤️ from the Netherlands.

DIY Danie, @alexandragator, and @detailgeek became my go-to channels during the pandemic. So inspiring, fun, and soothing at the same time!
I know right! Wish I had all that and talent.

This kitchen is a VIBE and I am HERE FOR IT. That countertopppp. 😍

I love the support the DIY channels give to each other. Especially the ladies.
The first time I saw ‘dark and moody kitchen’ I thought, oh no! But it is gorgeous and warm and homey. You are making a beautiful home for yourselves.

Also will you need to varathane the butcher block to protect from water or not or will the tung oil do that?
The oil does that
I was thinking the same but you can see in the beautyshots at the end that it was sealed.
@@DIYDanie I must have missed it!! My apologies ❤️❤️

Danie keepin it real one DIY at a time. Jeff is so serious hee hee, but a great helper. The tape measure scene EPIC. Giving your table a facial maybe
I thought maybe more like a hair mask? Like a leave in conditioner?

Do something with the basement wall and the shelf/ cabinet area that you use for seasonal items, please.

It's amazing, Danie! Yay!
Honestly i love the white tile at the back with the wood island counter! It balances so nice with the white in the sink!
I’m so glad you didn’t go for the traditional white color palette. The rich charcoal cabinets are so moody and cozy! Your kitchen turned out beautiful
Just rewatched and one of my favorite parts is the play of the different metal light fixtures off the deep colors of the cabinets.
I have to say it is so beautiful, I wouldn't want to leave the kitchen...EVER! Love it!!!
That EXACTstoneware dining set is at the Dollar general in gray and in dark blue, I swear!! 2 bucks per piece. I own it and LOVE IT!!
