      @@lxxwj Practice NEW STUFF every week AND practice every day for 6+ hours. Staying uncomfortable and learning new stuff that you can't do yet is key.
      I struggle with it because it's easy to play the shit that you already know and jam over changes you already mastered. One thing I do is write down on a list the things I need/want to learn and always start the practice sesh with something from that list. Then I get to improvising because it's more fun and maybe also a little easier.

      I think this cover is totally nuts and this guy is a crazy good player. But I don't think he has such good economy. Not that this is important, because i feel like there are a lot of guitarists that dont have a good economy of motion, but are still really fast and precise players,such as this guy.
      But if you wanna see some crazy economy of motion check out rick graham on yt.
      I am not saying that I am an expert at guitar, and my comment should not be seen as critique because that guy is amazing,I just want to show you another great yt guitarist you might like/ who might blow your mind : D

    love the addition of guitar to the original solo, makes it sound so full, and joshua's picking style is soooo profoundly relaxed and graceful, it is obviously effortless for him, so he can focus on the fiery emotion of this crazy solo by cory

    So many questions... How can you memorize so many notes? And with the correct timing? And play the whole thing in a single take? How much time to nail it? Seriously, man. The guitar world is about to be redefined before and after you. Time will tell!

      @@markpfeffer7487 it would take you about a bit over 6 hours to learn the whole thing, that's actually pretty incredible if you ask me. 6 hours is little to nothing to spend to learn such a solo.

    • @PeterEdwardCaceci
      @PeterEdwardCaceci 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re right. But 6 hours at 30- 50 per cent. Bringing it up to speed is where the right hand memorization and economy is introduced. Btw, it’s not a linear 6 hours, think of it as maybe 30 minutes of good learning each day ( 24 secs of the chart) relearned together each day with the new 24 seconds forming SECTIONS, and so forth, until you loosely learn the whole thing. Then go back and POLISH each section. Remember, you also have to be maintaining the rest of your repertoire as well!

    It’s very interesting being able to watch this on guitar as a guitarist. I am much more familiar with guitar modes, scales and chord shapes than I am with piano. Being able to see it on guitar just drives home how totally insane this solo is. The continuous modulations and modal changes are mind blowing.
