This album holds (holds lol) a special place in my heart. I've listened to it countless times, and you have just ROLLED on this tune dude. Holdsworth would beam :)
I discovered you two days ago. I’m a professional jazz drummer who plays some rock and blues guitar. You might just be my favorite jazz guitarist I’ve ever seen. No matter what you play, you remain calm and seem to have a bit of a smile going on. And I hear your musical voice so clearly. I would absolutely love to play drums with you someday
This is an interesting take on the piece. I saw Allan twice, live at club gigs. I spoke with him both times afterwards. Deeply humble but profoundly self-critical of his performances. There are a lot of notes here and unbelievable how much facility this player has. I can tell you that AH used as much space as notes. If you listen to sax players it's because of breathing. Like sentences, and paragraph breaks. The sheer emotion and life lived with highs and lows was all over his phrasing and fire in playing. Maybe this take is a sign of new approaches that allow more linear flow of notes. The speed of course is impressive. Few people could do this song in the exact style. Nor would it be important. I like that it's a Tele with humbuckers. Nice.
That's musical genius. It's the equivalent of a physics professor calmly writing out lengthy equations to solve the universe while you're struggling to remember basic algebra.
Seeing a young genius like Josh play might lead you to hang your axe on a nail for good. In actual fact it caused me to re-start playing after the best part of 10 years AND start taking piano lessons. So thanks man, you inspire people.
Joshua is by far the future of playing melodic clean guitar, so warm, make it easy, this guy is just awesome. for me is one of the best in the world, new talented musician dedicated. Bravo!!!
Yessir! Him and Matteo Mancuso both hold that place in the heart and they both happen to be very inspired by Allan and do the best renditions of his work. Incredible geniuses
There's no easy Holdsworth music. Excellent performance from both of u. It's great to see you bringing in other musicians Josh. Keep it up. Blessings bros.
Wow, I am flabbergasted by you’re incredible musicianship. Didn’t know who you were. I got one of those sample feeds from TH-cam and now I’m hooked. You have a gift from GOD. Perfect left hand technique, right hand is totally synced and you’re brain is wired to handle the amount of musical information coming in. I’m stunned. 😲😲😲
I suppose it’s a gift, but I think what he has done with that gift is the more impressive part. I mean, listen to what he was playing a few years ago (with his dad), and what he’s playing now. Talent isn’t as rare as people think-it’s people who take that talent and work their asses off to cultivate it-that’s the rare thing.
Man, the sound of a guitar *really* being played like this is incredible. This, as opposed to other guitarists who have neat compositional ideas, but lack the technique and fake their playthroughs (and lie about it). You're a prodigy, dude. Thanks for all the hard work you've clearly put into the instrument.
The drummer who used to play "Non-Brewed Condiment" with Allan Holdsworth is Gary Husband, not Chad Wackerman. Some information below: 1. th-cam.com/video/IUNdbOmqZqA/w-d-xo.html 2. www.discogs.com/release/3612285-Allan-Holdsworth-Group-Then 3. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Husband
tele has THE BEST neck to play fast. There's reason nobody chickin picks on strat or a les paul. I have all of those guitars and can personally testify to the ease of playing on a tele
Shocking - For me never heard anyone try Holdsworth, but to do it this well is incredible. Virtuosity par excellence - enjoyed your cover of Cory Henry's Solo on Lingus as well. Go get 'em. Love your gift man - keep sharing and spreading the vibe.
Your playing is mind-blowing, of course, but I like this composition, too. It makes me want to check out more Holdsworth. (I listened to some of his stuff years ago, and I thought his playing was fantastic-of course-but wasn’t moved by any of the compositions I heard.)
Good performance. I like the fact that you didn't try to copy Holdsworth's legato technique. You played it your own way. Trying to play exactly like Holdsworth won't do anyone any favours.
And the drumming is out of this world as well!
Sebastian is such an incredible talent. Search for his drumming videos and you'll be amazed.
Holdsworth is the top of the mountain dude. I've never, ever seen anyone play Holdsworth this clean. So inspiring, I can barely stand it.
Yoshinori Seki has a great channel with a bunch of Holdsworth tribute videos coming out every other week or so.
Check Matteo Mancuso, another beast
Alex Sill, Alex Machacek, Richard Hallebeek, just to name a few. But yes, Joshua Meader is the next generation.
If Allan is top of the mountain then Shawn Lane is in the clouds..
Shawn was brilliant and legendary but no, Holdsworth was at the top.
This album holds (holds lol) a special place in my heart. I've listened to it countless times, and you have just ROLLED on this tune dude. Holdsworth would beam :)
I can't wrap my head around how someone even learns a piece like this. Well done you legend.
its like frank gambale and allan holdsworth had a child...
Like at 1:34. Very Gambale-esque. With some Shawn Lane thrown in.

すごい‼️ 見事だ‼️
再現性では たくさんの動画の中でこれがベストだ✨
音だけならば アラン本人で疑わなかったと思います✨
Speechless .. pure magic
Better on TV than TH-cam - Soooo good!
Holdsworth was in a different dimension
An alien groove for the discerning, executed subliminally.
That's musical genius. It's the equivalent of a physics professor calmly writing out lengthy equations to solve the universe while you're struggling to remember basic algebra.
Man oh man, Alan is smiling from above :) WOW & THX !!
Crazy hearing this piece with every note picked~^^
This is really quite unbelievable
The frame rate of the camera couldn’t keep up with your finger movements. Hi-speed camera is needed here ! ;) Congratulations on your work !!!
Your playing is out of this world Josh. Incredible!!!!!!!
FOCK ME - pretty damn killer, gentlemen
it's like my guitar, but my guitar doesn't sound and play like that🤣. What amazing dude. All your videos are amazing. Congrats!
Seeing a young genius like Josh play might lead you to hang your axe on a nail for good. In actual fact it caused me to re-start playing after the best part of 10 years AND start taking piano lessons. So thanks man, you inspire people.

Incredible playing Joshua !!! Also I am happy to hear a drummer playing so good Chad Wakerman

Just cant say how great that sounds!!! Unreal

Should write your own!
beyond comprehension
When u can play holdsworth at will u have reached god teir
Good performance. I like the fact that you didn't try to copy Holdsworth's legato technique. You played it your own way.
