I discovered you two days ago. I’m a professional jazz drummer who plays some rock and blues guitar. You might just be my favorite jazz guitarist I’ve ever seen. This is an interesting take on the piece. I saw Allan twice, live at club gigs. I spoke with him both times afterwards. Deeply humble but profoundly self-critical of his performances. There are a lot of notes here and unbelievable how much facility this player has. I can tell you that AH used as much space as notes. If you listen to sax players it's because of breathing. Like sentences, and paragraph breaks. The sheer emotion and life lived with highs and lows was all over his phrasing and fire in playing. Maybe this take is a sign of new approaches that allow more linear flow of notes. The speed of course is impressive. Few people could do this song in the exact style. Nor would it be important. I like that it's a Tele with humbuckers. Nice.

This, as opposed to other guitarists who have neat compositional ideas, but lack the technique and fake their playthroughs (and lie about it). You're a prodigy, dude. Thanks for all the hard work you've clearly put into the instrument.
