Advocacy for Palestinans has been censored in the US for decades. Chomsky talks about this regularly. I suspect this recent doubling down has more to do with domestic politics in the West than it does with anything that's happening in the Middle East. We'd be hard pressed to identify anything new that's happened there, including the 7 Oct attacks and Israels flattening of Gaza.

Shame on the many outlets, including the AP, for overtly using biased language when reporting the Iranian strikes this weekend. Not only for the poor word choices but also for often failing to (*choosing* not to) properly give context re: the illegal Israeli strikes against an Iranian diplomatic facility in Syria being the inciting cause.
Whichever words & phrases an outlet would use to describe Israel striking Iran in response to Iran striking an Israeli diplomatic building… are the same words & phrases that should be used when any nation does the same.
More people are noticing the obvious bias in mainstream media but we still have a long way to go. Thank you to everyone at Democracy Now for continuing to objectively report the facts - it shouldn’t be so hard to find journalists actually doing journalism.

Do you think that over a decade of unguided terror missiles never happened? Do you think the recent, cross border attack was fake?
The amount of launched projectiles varies widely. Some have said 100 drones and 100 missiles were used. Iran says otherwise and western nations have continued to up the totals without any evidence. How many were actually shot who knows. Israel is not allowing any International Investigators so any statements from Israel are pure bunk. And Britain and the US help shot down Iranian missiles and we don't have any idea whether Israeli anti-air defenses can handle this and I doubt it. How much money did Israel spend shooting down these drones and missiles and can Israel continue this over days and weeks without going broke? Don't know maybe a question someone should ask.
Israel has an endless supply of money. They get free money from everyone, funding and weapons from the USA, they own politicians and they own The Federal Reserve, and most major banks. They also own half of the world's hearts because a large chunk of the world believes in Israeli biblical fairytales, so that helps. Money, equipment and support won't be a problem for Israel.

The German government didn't cite hate-speech laws, they actually cited something called "Betätigungsverbot" (ban on activity). Hamas, Hisbollah and ISIS are banned under that law in Germany. They also did that to Varoufakis, which isn't legal because you can not ban EU citizen. I hope they all start suing the German government because very little of what they did to prevent the Palestine Conference is legal under German law.

In reality the attack was precisely calibrated to not propel an Israeli response, but to "make a point" and the point is that International Order is crumbling and bit by bit we are returning to a world where might makes right among the states. The 1961 Vienna Convention is worthless as the U.N. security council resolutions. Tehran has now shifted from a "restrain policy" to a reciprocity one and the world is more dangerous this week than has never being since the high days of the Cold War.

If I were a young adult today, especially attending any type of educational institution, I would ask myself this basic question.
Why does America, the Western World and rest of the world, have such extreme political, economic, social, mental health, physical health and environmental problems? All these problems are so extreme throughout the world, when for decades Western institutions have been graduating at unprecedented numbers professionals in these fields study. This would be a primary question, being a young adult I would ask myself. I am 63 years old and wish someone would have asked me when I was entering college.

The answers are hiding in plain sight. Democracy and Demon have the first four letters in common. They must be rooted in the same, and precious to the demons that control this system.

Reporter sounds annoyed she has to robotically read about the ongoing genocide in Sudan, but giddy every time Israel or Palestine comes up. The comments section confirms she's certainly not alone in the selective outrage. My guess is the only reason this was covered at all is because of the anniversary. It will be forgotten immediately, just like the first wave of genocide roughly 20 years ago when between 300,000 and 400,000 were systematically murdered. I realize the genocide in Gaza needs appropriate attention. I realize the U.S.'s unforgivable role in perpetuating it. It should not be ignored. At all. But neither should Sudan. These are human beings. Their suffering should amount to so much more than "just another conflict in Africa," and the people of Sudan and especially in Darfur deserve the same acknowledgement, respect for life, and humanitarian aid as anyone else.
