Her ease is impeccable. Notice how she fully opens her mouth to create lot of space that helps to rebound the sound. Sometime girl dosen't even slides into high notes, just jumps an octave in chest voice. Making me bald again and again.
Your sentence doesnt make sense. A soprano’s range is determined by one’s ability to connect passagio from chest-mix-headvoice. A soprano doesn’t necessarily need to be able to belt a B5 using mix voice as there is no requirement for that, a soprano normally only required to sing it using a well supported headvoice B5. Thats how vocal classification is done. Thats being said, so many broadway/ classical singers are classified as true soprano who fully supports a soprano range. Your lack of understanding in vocal pedagogy is very misleading.

Who is she?!
Right?! It's so important for song choice. A lot of people try to sing songs that are just terrible for their range. As a contralto, I had to learn real fast that most popular music is just impossible for me and to work with what I got.
Me, a soprano, viewing the part of the highest notes: "haha altos can't do that it's so funny" also me viewing the part of the lowest notes: "am I a joke to you ARE WE GOTTA HAVE A PROBLEM"
You mean contraltos. There is no voice type called alto. Alto is a voice in a choir that sits in the middle to low female range and is usually sang by mezzos, but can be sung by contraltos and sopranos with good middle and low notes.
@Mira Melano okay cause I’ve been told I’m Alto and I’ve just been so confused between the differences of the two since people said in Chorus it’s Alto (and I think I saw somewhere where it said Contralto was shortened to Alto in the Choir) which made me think that as a singer it was called Contralto
@@yakzivz1104 I'm pretty sure Whitney was a soprano in her prime. Her voice changed a lot though because of abusing druggs and some people say she became a mezzosoprano.
Contralto sounds androgynous (it sounds Male at first, but something is "off") in the low register, and cavernous in the middle register; with the unique ability to crescendo in middle register. The flip from low register into "head voice" mirrors the Male Bass voice, right around F4#. The Contralto "head voice" tends to be overly bright, leading less experienced (or lazy) teachers to teach a true Contralto as a Soprano. I am so proud to share this rare sisterhood with my fellow Contralto's.
So I'm definitely a contralto. My vocal range is D3-G5 and it sounds androgynous in the low register, and cavernous in the middle. Head voice around F#4/G4 😀
Same but soprano. Out probably mezzo. Or actually I feel like I'm somewhere between there. No clue, I used to sing as a child but got shy and stopped. No clue where I'd really be now at 25.
Here's the standard vocal ranges: Alto: C#3 to F#5(passagio:Bb4 ) Mezzo: E3 to A5(passagio:C5 ) Soprano: G3 to C#6(passagio:E5 ) Edit: I'm writing this for some people who can't use their brain........ We say that tenors can sing upto E5, it doesn't mean that it's all chest voice!! We know that Tenors usually get fully into the mixed register near C5/C#5....... Similarly there's a limit to which these voices can take their strong chest voice to......... Beyond that they'll have to mix(just like any male voice type) Chest limits: Soprano: G#5(or sometimes A5) Mezzo: F5(or sometimes F#5) Alto: Eb5(or sometimes E5)
@@TheRealRob1 I'm talking about The chest and mixed register....... Yes, these are full vocal ranges and include the mixed register as well......... And the highest notes mentioned here are the notes upto which those voice types can sing upto in their "BALANCED MIXED VOICE"
This video was so well put-together, informative and clear. I learned more in five minutes watching this than I had previously retained in my 35 years. Thank you
I am so glad that you made this video! Many people are to believe that high notes and rifts are what makes a good singer…but no…a good singer is a good singer…and this video shows a great example of it…all singers shown are successful, wonderful, and talented, but all have different kinds of voices, octaves, and range
Amazing video !!! * low note: contralto * mid note and high note: mezzo * high note: soprano 😍😍😍😍 Love video ! I like sohyang (soprano) & beyonce (mezzo)
I really don't understand why people only show enthusiasm when they hear high notes. Its harder to sing low with power and make it beautiful and pleasant to ears. contraltos and basses should receive more recognition for their dedication and hard work. Honestly, I'm getting really tired of listening songs using just high notes in order to "impress" the others.
Ppl saying "poor altos, the only songs that fits them are for male" What so sorry but i have never meet a man that have such a deep voice as them. I mean even for man altos are very deep.
For contraltos the note F5 is the most higher for lyric and dramatic contralto, for coloratura contralto the note Bb5 is maxime. The difference the mezzos and contraltos is what notes whistle is impossible for contraltos.
My voice can go very low but I hit high notes very easily kappa. It’s more comfortable to sing in a higher pitched voice. But my normal voice is deep hah
4:27 Ivete!!!! Não esperava te ver por aqui!!!! She's an awesome brazilian singer, just wanted to make sure there's at least a few comments in portuguese.
Beyonce is a coloratura Mezzo soprano and Mariah.....um....she is a lyric soprano but mariahs voice has gone lower due to vocal issues which lowered her voice...Beyonce was trained as a kid in vocal lessons thats why she can nail almost all soprano ranges
I MP head production, i’m still working on the transition from my mostly chest production to my high range head production, because even though i can sing the notes, the transition is really messy
I didn’t realize that contraltos existed until about a year ago. It’s totally changed my technique. I can now dig deeper into my chest voice to hit those soulful notes. Also I love to sing “I put a spell on you” with my contralto voice.
Hello I took a vocal range online and on TH-cam and my vocal range is C3 to F5. I can't figure out if that's alto/contralto or mezzo soprano. I definitely struggle going high but I'm comfortable hitting low notes and singing from my chest or stomach. Long questiion short - is C3 to F5 contralto or mezzo? Thanks.

3:18 queen SoHyang be giving me chills as always
3:21 just a reminder
I get goosebumps every time
Aretha is one of the few sopranos who can go as low as the contralto range. A true legend.
In my bathroom im a Mezzo 🙄😂
Lol
Me too
Same but soprano. Out probably mezzo. Or actually I feel like I'm somewhere between there. No clue, I used to sing as a child but got shy and stopped. No clue where I'd really be now at 25.
I am a Bass
Here's the standard vocal ranges:
Alto: C#3 to F#5(passagio:Bb4 )
Mezzo: E3 to A5(passagio:C5 )
Soprano: G3 to C#6(passagio:E5 )
Edit: I'm writing this for some people who can't use their brain........ We say that tenors can sing upto E5, it doesn't mean that it's all chest voice!! We know that Tenors usually get fully into the mixed register near C5/C#5....... Similarly there's a limit to which these voices can take their strong chest voice to......... Beyond that they'll have to mix(just like any male voice type)
Chest limits:
Soprano: G#5(or sometimes A5)
Mezzo: F5(or sometimes F#5)
Alto: Eb5(or sometimes E5)
thank you!
That’s definitely not true lmao
@@TheRealRob1 How?
New Hope soprano usually can’t even go up to b5 so obviously neither to C6 and altos usually can’t go upper E5.
Thank you
1:42 when sohyang gets possessed by the Holy Spirit
🤣🤣
I am so glad that you made this video! Many people are to believe that high notes and rifts are what makes a good singer…but no…a good singer is a good singer…and this video shows a great example of it…all singers shown are successful, wonderful, and talented, but all have different kinds of voices, octaves, and range
Amazing video !!!
* low note: contralto
* mid note and high note: mezzo
* high note: soprano 😍😍😍😍
Love video !
I like sohyang (soprano) & beyonce (mezzo)

@@thehappiestboy thanks ❤
I really don't understand why people only show enthusiasm when they hear high notes. Its harder to sing low with power and make it beautiful and pleasant to ears. contraltos and basses should receive more recognition for their dedication and hard work. Honestly, I'm getting really tired of listening songs using just high notes in order to "impress" the others.
I can hear God singing through sohyang 😭
Interesting video 👏🏻 the difference is really huge. I'd like to see this in male voice.
Not Really A Singer The difference is going bigger than ever
Not Really A Singer me too
@@btsxmbti-wwh4382 who strains most things he sings. Not exactly a good example.
3:24 Okay I wasn't expecting this
3:19 wow. Just amazing.
Do you ever hear someone sing so good you cry? 3:18
That is Arirang Alone. But I like Son Woo and Song Sohee's Performance too in this segment.
My Iconic Queens Are:
Beyoncé (I Love Her So Much!)💛
Mariah Carey (I Love her to!💛)
Whitney Houston (LOOOOOVE HER!💛)
Finally! A veideo that shows its hard getting both high and low depending on your voice type.
Chaotic but Cool agree
Ppl saying "poor altos, the only songs that fits them are for male"
What so sorry but i have never meet a man that have such a deep voice as them. I mean even for man altos are very deep.
Altos and tenors have overlapping ranges.
If we're talking about deep voices then CORPSE is your guy.
Sohyang isn't real. Is so perfect
01:40, 03:18 So hyang My only favorite soprano. 👸💖💕

Me, three~ :)
me five
There are many contraltos who can belt F5’s tho
Melonie Daniels is one example.
Chad Guindon A few being able to, doesn't invalidate this video's point...
Melonie Daniels is NOT contralto. She's a Mezzo-soprano (Dramatic).
For contraltos the note F5 is the most higher for lyric and dramatic contralto, for coloratura contralto the note Bb5 is maxime.
The difference the mezzos and contraltos is what notes whistle is impossible for contraltos.
@@sweet69159 why impossible? That's interesting
I’m a mezzo soprano.
The lowest note I can hit is between a C#3 and a D3. The highest note I can hit is between a E6 and a F6. So proud❤️
OMG THE PERFECT VIDEO!!!!!
WHO ARE YOU AND WHY DO YOU HAVE A CHECKMARK NEXT TO YOUR NAME?
@@sunnyisfictional hehe
Cher distinctive vocals have always been underrated.
soohyang with that Bb5 will never fail to give me chills
I love the uniqueness each voice brings! And the vocal runs wow!!
Cher is so good as a vocalist!
Yet she is so underrated
Contralto singers are underrated most people like sopranos but the fact that sometimes contralto has rich voices and soulful too
Omg Lisa Gerrard,That control! What an amazing contralto
That very first voice is just amazing. I can't get over it
See I felt the opposite. Sounded like she was singing through her nose. Way too nasal that it was like nails on a chalk board.
That iconic Demi's C#3
Eduard Gil YEAAH I THOUGHT THE SAMEEE
Eduard Gil she is iconic?

sohyang! i love her so much. her bb5 at 3:20 will always leave me bald, every. single. time.
The very first Contralto sounded AMAZING! I'm an Alto, but can occasionally sing higher notes.
all three voice types are so beautiful omg.
Sohyang. ❤❤
Soprano
That G#2 by Aretha (a full soprano) was very impressive... Wow... That was great
Thank you so much for this! I have a large range and never knew what part my voice truly is, but now I know I'm mezzo!
Aretha is so legendary, a soprano who can sing in the 2° octave
That five minutes sure went by quick! This is such a good concept I wish there was more.
I LOVE to hear those thick contralto vocals ripping up the joint. Singers like Cher have this amazing depth and richness of tone that makes me shake.
4:36 omg you put Ivete Sangalo
Achei o máximo kkk
Wow, Cher’s high note at the end of the National anthem was impeccable
I honestly don't think my voice fits any of these...☹
My voice can go very low but I hit high notes very easily kappa.
It’s more comfortable to sing in a higher pitched voice. But my normal voice is deep hah
I'm clearly a soprano but I can go very low too
All you are mezzo.
@@-nikole. damn
nope nope nope same
We need one for male singers, including counter tenors
and Basso Profundo's, please don;t let our unique voices be overshadowed by justin timberlake style counter-tenor voice
Imo, a mezzo soprano is the perfect female voice. They can hit both the highs and the lows like a boss.
Sohyang my dearest, why did God spend so much time on you?
Leave some talent for the rest of us
4:27 Ivete!!!! Não esperava te ver por aqui!!!!
She's an awesome brazilian singer, just wanted to make sure there's at least a few comments in portuguese.
I love so hyang her Bb5 are amazing
Ivete Sangalo queen of Brazil ❤
"going lower is hard for supranos and mezzos"
Beyonce as a Mezzo and Mariah as a Suprano:
🙂
Not really. I am a mezzo-soprano and I can go really low.
Beyonce is a coloratura Mezzo soprano and Mariah.....um....she is a lyric soprano but mariahs voice has gone lower due to vocal issues which lowered her voice...Beyonce was trained as a kid in vocal lessons thats why she can nail almost all soprano ranges
You clearly know a crap about music!
It's not hard for me. I am a soprano and I sing all the way down to an F#2 (below that I have to use vocal fry).
@@katsosekhute8737 Mariah is a coloratura soprano
Ironic how So Hyang's performance says best in the corner. Because that describes her performance perfectly.
Ivete Sangalo showing the brazilian power 😍😍😍
i’m a contralto and i can sing the F5, like, clearly, somewhat operatic
With a chest or head production?
I MP head production, i’m still working on the transition from my mostly chest production to my high range head production, because even though i can sing the notes, the transition is really messy
I didn’t realize that contraltos existed until about a year ago. It’s totally changed my technique. I can now dig deeper into my chest voice to hit those soulful notes. Also I love to sing “I put a spell on you” with my contralto voice.
No contraltos found in this video.😂

Hey Guys! Here's the link of the male version! Tenor, Baritone and Bass! th-cam.com/video/OviXPrL8-ts/w-d-xo.html
Thanks.
