I enjoyed very much seeing how calm and attentive your Husky (?) is. Letting a dog live in the environment that historically belongs to the breed must forestall anxiety and destructive tendencies. What a lucky creature!
Hi Lawman. Thanks for your comment. We think Tenshi is mostly Malamute which is a northern dog. She fits right in here in Yukon Canada where we have about 8 months of cold! She seems content and especially brightens up when it snows. We are so lucky to have her. 🤗🤗🐾🐾

When you showed the night sky, my heart swelled with joy. Tears filled my eyes. I've been there in the silence of deep winter with the Northern Lights, in NW Lower Michigan in the 50s and in Alaska in the 70s. Thank you.
Greetings from Australia. Last Saturday it was 38 degrees Celsius. It's approaching my favourite seasons, fall and winter. I do not cope well in our summer heat so glad to move into cooler days and nights. Most night temps in summer are over 20 degrees Celsius, so not ideal for sleeping. I have always longed for a white Christmas. Then you for sharing your daily life. And yes GRATITUDE is the key to happiness and abundance. Happy yurt living.

Great video. We found that propane tanks are fine to at least -40 (for a cook stove at least) with a good regulator and tanks outside. But we do see a bit of a drop in pressure below -20 so I can see the merit of insulating them too!

Lived just like this in Alaska for years.....miss it.....on our way back to simpler, more rewarding living again.....watching you make the fire with your gear on, when it's that cold ( or colder) out....well...it is just so rewarding to make a fire....I flashed back to the contentment it brings just to do that.....miss my barrel stove!

Yes there is something rewarding about this life as you know.. when you are in the middle of the harsh natural elements, sometimes you wonder why you are doing this but as soon as you are out of it, it makes you miss it... It is funny how that works. Hope you will get to experience it again!
I've never seen Aurora Borealis in person, hope to someday...bucket list...lol. Research 'Rocket Mass Heaters'. I build them and they are IMHO the best off-grid furnace, stove, etc. Burns thin sticks, minimal ash production, burns all the smo0ke inside the furnace. No woodsmoke up the chimney means no creosote production, means zero chance of a chimney fire...or need to clean it. You would be spoiled with the incredible heat output of a rocket mass heater.

Hi Tammy, I just watched this video with my four-year-old Ilya. He was impressed, as was I, with everything you need to do to have running water and heating. Ilya liked the bit best where Tomohiro was splitting wood. He also said he liked you and the dog ;-) Good luck with the depth of winter approaching! To compare: here in the Netherlands we had one night with minus 3 celsius frost so far this winter. Ilya just got a sled for Sinterklaas, so we would love to get some of your snow if you can spare it...

There is no water transfer station here, Lulu. Before quarantine, we filled many blue jugs for drinking water at our office in town. It was handy to get water for showers, washing clothes and dishes by melting snow and going to the creek because we couldn’t go downtown for 14 days. After quarantine, we find that it’s more convenient getting the water closer to home. Good question. 👍🏽

Hello R.A. We have a solar panel only for emergency back up power. Tomohiro likes to fish and we have a green house and a few planter boxes where we grow vegetables in the summer. I love picking wild plants and berries when they are in season. Thanks for watching. 🙂
No much up here in the north as it is relatively dry. It gets condensation in winter but it is at the manageable level. We were supervised how little mold was on the inside of the canvas where we moved the yurt last year after using it for 12 years.

Why do you need to filter the snow?
