Great, succint, to the point review. I am one of those who owns both the Glamster and the Bullitt and enjoy them both for different situations and riding styles. I did trial test rides with Arai, Premier, Origine and AGV classic retro helmet models too, thanks to my more than accomodating retail bike shop owner who allowed me to keep each if them for more than 2 weeks. They just didn't fit my reqs for one reason or another. It really came down to two brands for me, Bell and Shoei. I wear Glamster for slightly longer rides, out in the open and countryside. It is very similar to Bullitt look and feel but offers just a tad more protection against the wind and the rain, thanks to it's closer fitting visor when closed. Another thing that is a plus for me is that unmistakenly characteristic helmet shape, evident in both J-O and Glamster lines. Lower top, elongated silhouette front to back to provide even better fit for those of us with oval heads, the sloping back profile, the "duck tail" neck end. Simply beautiful, and a work of a true designer/artist. The Bullitt on the other hand is my ultimate cafe racer, city slicker ride choice so to say, slow ride with many stops in between destinations. For me no other helmet comes close to Bullitt's design, shape, huge field of view thanks to its oversized face opening, and that unmistaken 70es 'race car' helmet look and feel. But as I mentioned above, it ain't perfect. Rain will seep on your face within minutes, wind will whistle inside it, visor will fog in no time. Love them both for what they are and will be on a lookout for new 2022 designs and colors both Shoei and Bell have been promissing for few months now on their Glamsters and Bullitts.
Thank you for helping me decide to buy one of these helmets. As for the screws, they are Japan industry standard. Screwdrivers to correctly fit these can be bought cheaply enough and save damage to the screws.
Great review. As usual, I check reviews after ordering, what can I say? I like retro helmets mainly because of the look and the field of view. Biltwell Gringo, Torc T1 are great looking but may lack some modern safety features so I ordered a nice looking Shoe Glamster to feel a bit more secure. And it goes well with my Tiumphs. Tx.
A very informative and honest review of the Shoei Glamster. Here in France I believe it is a requirement to fix reflective stickers to your helmet. Your all black helmet will be ideal for the black reflective type stickers. I am enjoying your Yamaha XSR 700 videos. Thank you for uploading. Duras SW France PS: wish I could speak French as well as you speak English!
Thank you ! :) I will not put the stickers on the helmet, because even the black ones are ugly in my opinion... don’t tell the police ;) so you live in France but you’re not originally from France right ?
@@R2Moto Thank you! I see a sort of click in the middle position at 7:50 so I thought it could stay like that at medium speeds at least. Great video btw! 👌🏼
XSR + Shoei Glamster are a great match!

Great review. Did you know if you slide the visor lock tab forward it locks so you can have a 10mm gap
Very helpful, I've just ordered mine, thank you.

Yes, all is good and videos are coming ! We had another lockdown in France and bad weather so riding and recording is kind of complicated :(

Am I wrong or is there another visor position in between? At 7:50 or so.
yes you can lock it and it have a small gap for air.
@@joeb84 thanks, I mean at the center position between open and closed, so you get a bigger gap for air.
The visor can stay like that you’re right, but there is no sort of lock so wind would most likely push it back up
@@R2Moto Oh really. Are sure the latch can slide and it locks? I've watched a few reviews saying this is a feature. 🤷🏽🤷🏽
