They are stucked at some point with today silicon chips and also 32bit apps are a massive brake. If we want more effective HW, we have to bury entire PC standard and bring something new, something more similar to ARM or mobile Apple CPUs and also switch to carbon chips is needed. A barely cut Titan with higher clocks, and often faster than the big sister? Just crazy. It was an overzealous answer to the Vega threat, which didn't turn out to be much of anything after all. But that move left us with this beautiful beast of a card. I don't think they'll repeat that brilliant "mistake" anytime soon, they don't like their customers that much. Or at all, really. It really is a shame. The 1080ti was one for the ages, easily on the same page as Radeon 9700/9800, 8800 GTX or the Voodoo 2 for me.

      > But, and I think this is the part where a shill can’t quite comprehend, “negative” or constructive criticism is generally welcomed by those that wish to improve themselves
Question; You DO realize that the act of giving constructive criticism is, by design of the nuance, giving criticism that is CONSTRUCTIVE, right? Of which, your comment offers nothing of the sort. When someone gives constructive criticism, you DO understand that it falls on YOU to give examples of HOW improvement can be made, right?
You offer no examples of what a shill actually is, and whatever definition you think you came up with as you were typing up that response is, unfortunately, not correct. That's asinine for starters. You know nothing about me as a person, how long I've been subbed to jay, how long I've used the internet in general, or anything for that matter. Once again, you've completely left the scope of this conversation, and you've instead resorted to personal attack.

No, YOUR comment was unhelpful, and frankly impolite. YOU resorted to the ad-hominem when challenged on the idea, not I. You know, with you having been a user from "pretty much the beginning", one would think you'd know how to actually have a conversation on the internet. Then again, conservatives like yourself pretty much stick to your own ideals whenever it's convenient and doesn't impact you in the real world.
      > Piece of advice, to fully embrace the shill lifestyle, you generally need to either be cool and collected, or an absolutely deranged psycho, you missed both pretty hard there.
I got news for you: My lifestyle doesn't revolve around your approval or opinions or what you think are "definitions" of the term. Your opinions are one thing, but unfortunately - and this may come as a shock to people like yourself - nobody is required to listen to or adhere by them. I Doubt it's even possible anymore. The companies would have to use some league leading technology in order to decrease the size, which would be extremely costly. Even now when they make the upgraded changes to the console it's not by leaps and bounds.

The sad thing is the design with CPUs and GPUs in the past years is performance through power. When still being able to shrink the design and place more transistors on a chip, it was like same die size and power consumption, but higher performance. Nowadays, all you get is more performance for incredibly high costs, bigger dies and a lot more TDP / power consumption.
It is like the pinnacle of design is already in the past and we just throw more power into the system. Like with combustion engine cars - you can easily tune them to have more power - but at the cost of bigger fuel pumps and an equivalent amount of higher fuel consumption.
I am a bit worried, cases will have to grow bigger and bigger to accommodate the insanely huge cards and power supplies.
This trend is not nearly as "green" as nvidias trademark is.
Edit: Okay, nVidia put something nice off here. But the price is non-negotiable and way too high.

At least they found out THAT was actually too much. But nVidia just does it. The 3090 Strix length-wise is also only a few inches away from hitting my drive rack in the case, and again, you can't really get cases a lot bigger than what I have unless you custom build them.
