All shooting footage performed on a closed range in a safe environment by trained individuals.
I grabbed a big Wheeler set that has that S&W tip in it. Soooooo much better when you have the appropriate tool.
I have started laying a rag on top of the gun when I do this, though. Sent the spring flying a couple of times ago.
Ha! I’ve sent a spring or 2 flying. A rag is a great idea to minimize that. Such a simple tool, but pretty dang helpful. Didn’t know Wheeler made them too.
I got one, but always grab a punch.... LOL!
It definitely makes things easier for me… launched too many springs over the years 🤣
Good Ole Smith nice Brother 👌 🇺🇸
Thanks brother! Love this old one.
Nice Gunsmithing.
Thanks brother!
Nice set
Much better than not having it, no doubt about it.
Very nice specialty tool!
Fun fact: The S&W Model 15 is the sidearm that Roy Schieder’s “Chief Brody” used in 1975’s “Jaws”
It is! Yea I remember that from the movie… been a long time I watched that.
That was a great video Brother, pretty cool seeing that all apart.
Thanks brother! Yea just another thing I was tinkering with. Have some old .22 rifles I need to get to working on if I can ever get some free time. Hope you’re doing good. Have a great week!
What a nice gun. Love that tool as well!!
Thanks! Tool is simple but makes life easier for sure
I wish you would've done this video around the wnd of 2019. That's when I bought my 28-2. It was Ugly, but in Good mechanical condition. I now it was a Department issue, because it had armory marks below the cylinder on the left side. The clock works are identical to the 28-2. I'd never been behind the side plate before, and I just dove into it head first. No YT tutorials or anything...just worked the action, and noticed what was doing what! It's not that bad, it just looks Daunting. I need to get one of those tho! Thanks for sharing it CG.
Man I’d love a 28! Yea they’re fairly simple to figure out. I had an older fella show me the inside many years ago. Since then I’ve done most on my own. Thanks for sharing brother, I sure do appreciate it!
@@ChristianGrestThe model 28 was the first hand I ever fired. Both my Dad and his Dad had 28 No Dash models when I was a kid, both carried them all the time. It's basically a Working Man's model 27. It wasn't quite as refined as the 27, to make it more Affordable for most LEOs of the time period. It's a Great revolver, but the 27's trigger and finish are a little better. When I bought my latest 28-2 you could tell it'd been carried Aot but shot very little. The bluing was all but nonexistent, and the internals were Very dirty and rusty. I replaced all the small springs, the hand, and cleaned and polished EVERYTHING in it with 2k grit sandpaper til they were smooth as glass. It operates Butter Smooth, and reblued it. She's looking pretty good, but I'd like at some point to have it Professional blued. I researched it, and found out it was manufactured the last part of '72.
