A centered choke is a lot better then a un-centered one as focus fires will be less effective because of the 180 degree view of the area. Riots will also be slightly less effective because of damage from multiple angles. surgeon vets are also not great on defense as they leave their sandbags to revive fallen allies and usually don't go back.

and use minimal grunts in the main push as they steal veteran exp and unit spots.

Baron, it seems if you aren't active for a while the match system will suspend your base from further selection. I took a few months off then came back in December and it seemed like everything had been in suspended animation. You're right that there haven't been any noticeable changes, but they have fixed some problems with tank traps blocking pathways and confusing the assaulting units. The game is still interesting.
