    A lot of bike buyers make the same mistake (me included) Buy the biggest most powerful bike u can afford so u don hv to upgrade later. u end up buying cc(power) but not the bike suitable for yourself due to inexperience & non suitable. Big cc bikes r very heavy and riders actually struggle to use it effectively. Depending on your height , weight & experience u need to choose well. A big bike can have 100hp but u only can use maybe 30-50% of the power skillfully. If not careful u can end up in serious accident. Crf250 can be a fun beginner bike or a relaxed touring bike for more experienced rider. I use nearly 80% of the crf power. i find this bike very suitable for city or country roads.
    U can upgrade when u have enough experience. For me i would keep this bike even after i retire from riding so actively. Its going to be collectors item one day

    bought the same bike, rode it for a little while and then I upgraded to the race tech front fork shock $200 upgrade( Basically adds a second spring) and the YSS rear shock $ 440 ( fully adj) Transformed the bike! World of difference. Spongy, not bouncy and the forks dont dive anymore. Soft enough for street, confidence inspiring for off -road Im 5’ 10 “ 200 lbs..

      Wow, that sounds like an awesome set of upgrades! Im sure the bike runs even better now! I actually don’t have that ride anymore as I upgraded to s lightly bigger bike, a DRZ400 - wanted something a little stronger for 2 up riding in the future plus always wanted one of these classic drz400’s! Its strong thats for sure! Will post videos and reviews of it soon hopefully! Being 6’4 and 230lbs+ figured this new mountain adventure partner would be cool for the next season of riding. Blessings brother and happy riding your upgraded iron horse!

    Fastest way to spot someone who doesn't know anything about motorcycles--they are afraid 24 horsepower/80 mph isn't enough.

    i own one. this is one incredible bike. its not top speed bike but its a fun touring bike that u feel confident going anywhere alone. its light its capable. u love it once u had enough of heavy clumsy machines. i owned the vstrom 1000. its a wonderful bike but u cant really have as much fun . it can tour on the highway at 190 but it wil wobble because of the top box(vstrom 1000)
    with the rally i can go anywhere anytime. it can go comfortably 120-140 at the B roads. Its light and flickable. Superb feeling. Everyting is simple and fun.
    i owned Blackbird cbr1100xx , Tdm850, Vfr750, Majesty250, Vespa 300, Ksr110, Vrx400, Integra700, Fz150, CB400vtec, Vstrom1000. I travelled through the whole range of different design configuration & power. Verdict: Crf250 rally is not going to get u into any trouble. It corners well , absorbs bumps, flys over gravel roads, off beaten path, good fuel consumption, attention grabber.
    i highly recommend for anyone who appreciates riding ( not high speed track demons) its a single cylinder bike u want to ride around the world. Truly Confidence inspiring

      @@AlwoodWick to differeent riders adventure means different things. For me its go anywhere , anytime alone. Crossing rivers , hilly terrain, muddy channels, desert plains where there are no roads. Basically u make your own road with no back up truck loaded wit mechanics and spare parts. I'm not saying other bikes cant do that but i'm saying crf rally is the bike i do it on. :))

    Would you recommend this over Africa Twin which is too heavy and very difficult to move around and even to get it over centerstand?

    • @AlwoodWick
      @AlwoodWick  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would still love the Africa twin but would certainly be different styles of riding, im sure in long trips the Africa twin would be way more comfortable but on smaller and maybe tougher conditions the 250 would be less tiring. I hope to ride and review a Africa twin one day :) comparing it to the gs1200 bmw I’ve already tested,
