Miles 746.5-1053.4 - Back on trail at Shelter Cove(726.5) August 19th, hit the OR/CA border (961.4) on August 27th, hit Etna Summit Trailhead (1053.4) on August 30.

The second one, and the one you brushed against, is Poison Oak. The clue is the leaf shape, red leaves in the fall, and shinny leaves. The bare stalks, usually in the fall, are poisonous too. Welcome to California. We have Poodle Dog Bush too.
That’s honestly great to know, I still struggle with it a bit to this day. PDB is thankfully much easier to recognize

Loving the series, I've got my permit and am planning my 2021 Southbound as we speak. I'm leaving at the end of July, since I'm finishing up some classes over the summer, and will find myself in a race to make it thru the Sierra before the big snow comes. It would be super helpful for me, personally, if you posted or mentioned some dates to coincide with the videos. Obviously conditions will vary year to year, but with so few sobo youtubers, your series is the best one I've seen - by far. I have a feeling many future sobo hikers will use this as a resource, and that information would be super useful for many.

Dude you have the best perspective on these hikes. I told you before that your AT videos were real unique and your personality really comes through like no one else. Keep it up. Your channel is taking off. Sorry again for giving you crap about your Cooking video before. I learned a lot about cyber bullying and it’s just so easy to forget that there are real people just trying to live their lives on the other side of the screen. Anyway, if you are ever rolling through Northern California, I’m in Sacramento and have a guest bedroom for you and whoever to crash.

@@MeowHikes Nice! I've got the older DCF version maybe they increased the pocket size a bit.
Every Pa’lante I’ve been able to fit the .7l bottle in, V1, V2 DCF, V2 Cire, UL pack and both Joeys, however it often ‘pops’ the stitch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

9lb base weight for most of the trek, went up in the Sierras of course.
