One actor who never had any scandal attached to him and kept his private life - private. Sidney Poitier - handsome, extraordinary talented and an absolute class act.
I was a cool teacher. Ask any of my students. I loved them all. Many of them even stay in touch with me. I lived in England in the early 70's. How dare X-President Obama EMBARRASSE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA in front of GREAT BRITIAN. I LOVE THE QUEEN AND HER COUNTRY. SIR. KEN DENNIS
I love how the dance starts as a minuet and then goes into full blast rock and roll. This movie was so good and part of the charm of the movie was the great music.
I love this movie anyway, but this scene makes me weep like a big ol' weeping thing that weeps. The dancing is so sweet and fun. "The whole world's waiting for you; you're a smasher."
what a classic movie. i will never get bored of watching it over and over again. such fabulous acting, great story line. its so rich with every turn. love the dance scene. its sophisticated yet hip. those were good times.
Sitting in a cool theater on a scorching hot Texas day, munchin' popcorn, having no idea what this movie was about, a 13-yr old girl learned about English kids, different accents, and most of all: racism. To this day, the song To Sir With Love makes me cry. In a good way. Such a deep, lifelong impression this one had on me. 🎥🎭👍💙
Not until a couple of hours ago did I find out that Christian Roberts who played Denham died a day after Christmas last year (2022). I still cry over Sidney but sad as well that some of those that played the kids in the film are now gone as well. Will live on in our hearts.
That is such a wonderful idea. My mom turned me onto "The Imitation of Life" the black and white version and the color version with Lana Turner and Juanita Moore. To Sir With Love and Imitation are two of the all time top of the line tear jerker movies, that make a grown man cry. I don't know what was sadder at the end of this movie, Sydney telling Pamela goodbye, or the little tiny oriental girl bringing Sir his present, and of course, Lulu. Three tear jerkers at the end of one movie. Class
The greatest movie ever made, i watched it over 30 times in the cinema and on my computer. Sidney POITIER and Clint Eastwood would go down as the greatest actors of all time. I have to cry each time i watch it, and i love my sons and other children more
Sidney Poitier ..... one fine actor, and a classy gentleman. I'm a Baby Boomer and enjoyed especially his performances in "Raisin in the Sun", Lillies in the Field, and this one.
Not only was he an excellent actor, he could dance, too! By the way, those dances were considered v ed Ryan cool! The drug, the jerk,etc...I did them all! I love to dance! I have been dancing my entire life!
LOVE Sidney. Just spent weekend watching 5 of his movies in honour of his birthday. What a terrific scene. After rocky start, the satisfaction of seeing Poitier's character win over students approval is priceless.
I think if you look in a pictionary and look under the word cute, you have a photo of Judy Geeson in this movie. And she dances quite well for an nineteen year old English girl.
Judy's dancing skills are no surprise, A nineteen year old English girl would have danced quite well for the times, it was the hip, swinging 60s after all. The British music scene was happening!A time of great excitement and exploration. Everything was happening at this time in history, especially music, art, style and self expression! England was a bit ahead of the United States in this aspect and I'm from the United States.
This was one of my two all time favorite movies ever. The second one was The Imitation of Life. That young English lady put it down in this movie. She put the moves on Sydney to the hilt. He hung in there though; I give him credit. She is a sex kitten is ever there was one, and I'm a straight woman and loved Pamela Dare's character in this movie. Well done lady; you rock the house.
I now understood what he meant. To Sir with Love... A humble, kind, effort man! Teachers' affect eternity (Thorndike), and a gift of lifetime... Ms. Robinson, Sidney, 1st ladies of U. S. A. and France!!!!
27 years as a special ed teacher in the bowls of Brooklyn NY..all because of this movie...never regretted a minute of it
❤️
That is good to hear! The good stuff in life!
Few men had more class, dignity and talent as Sidney... Rest In Peace, Sir.
Judy Geeson is the embodiment of charm. What a dignified, sweet, beautiful young woman!
OMG! This is one of the BEST movies of all time!
One actor who never had any scandal attached to him and kept his private life - private.

Congratulations!!!!. How long did you teach?.I bet you had to deal with fractious students, didn't you?.
William Nickerson

Sidney Poitier may be the best American actor of all time. He was always intense, while also calming. How did he do that?
THEY CALL ME MR TIBBS
He isn't American. I need to read his autobiography again. It's brilliant!

Judy's one of the most beautiful actresses I've ever seen.
I first saw this movie when I was 10, I definitely noticed Judy
Judy's dancing skills are no surprise,
