Plus, if you have any xbox or xbox 360 games it's the way to get use out of them. I like the library of discs I have for original xbox and xbox 360, so this is an okay alternative just doesn't speak to me.
na, disc less is way better just turn on and have all your games on main menu. No inserting and looking for valueless discs. Gives it a pc feel. Not bad. 1tv more than enough space

20 years down the line when people wanna pull out their old consoles and wanna play their downloaded games find out their system is corrupted so they have to go to a vintage game store to get another one only to find out that the store servers closed down and they cant redownload their games. No longer possible to sell used games
No more UHD Blu-Ray drive for proper high bitrate 4k films.
Basically it's a inferior product for the same street price.
Why would anyone purchase a cheap pc with no playable discs? It’s just convenience to switch between games instead of having to get up and change between games that take up physical space.

Using PC to compare to consoles is a bit silly. PC has multiple store options. The parts are modular and everything can be swapped in and out.
Storage is never an issue on PC. You can just ditch a new HDD in when one get's filled up. Sony allows for larger HDD's but the space is cramped and only thin 2.5 inch discs fit. I believe MS doesn't allow the HDD to be swapped.(pls correct me if i am wrong)
With a console digital only means you will be a slave to the companies personal store. There are no alternatives. So they get a monopoly in favour for the convenience.
That is something consumers should not allow to happen. And if gamers become as vigilant as they were at the start of this generation it simply won't happen.

Nice to see this come out. Have a launch Xbox One and everything I own and regularly play these days are downloaded to an external hard drive. It's just way more convenient to have everything I want to play just a button press away. If I needed to upgrade this is would be the perfect thing

Why digital sucks:
-digital games almost always cost equal to or more than physical.
-they usually take longer to drop in price.
-they can't be resold/they are tied to an account.
-no collectors editions/steel books.
-they take up a lot more storage space.
I really think digital games should cost less than physical, considering they're cheaper to create/distribute and they can't be resold after you purchase them.
It would definitely help push more people to digital, but I'd still prefer physical games just for the feeling of having a tangible item that I physically own and can do whatever I want with.. plus I like collectors editions

Bruh, it's better if you buy digital games in some countries like mine, Nepal. Here, physical games donot drop in prices even during Christmas. It's not our BIG festival but the price never drops. So, I'm better off if I wait for some occassions and purchase digitally...

Thank you so much for doing the Metrics part too! So many TH-camrs don't do that and it's very annoying. Even for a second when you did the pounds I "Ugh" and opened a tab to do the conversion and then you started doing Metrics and I was so happy.
I think the idea is smart but the implementation is stupid. It's literally just the One S without a drive, what they should've done is used that empty space to shrink the console even more.

Nintendo Switch is basically a 8th Gen Console which also has physical Media.
NeXbox is already seeing two versions, one a cheaper streaming box, the other being a traditional console.

I've been gaming since the Atari 2600 and I absolutely love the all digital xbox idea. I dont buy physical copies anymore and I'm glad they gave me an option for all digital.

So how do you trade in your discs? Some games, like The Godfather, aren’t backwards compatible (yet 🤞). Seems digital games takes up more GBs than discs, is the hard drive big enough?

Since the idea of the Nintendo switch "mini" I kind of had this idea for it. That the Nintendo switch Mini/ cheaper model would be cartridgeless. Seeing Miscrosoft release this diskless console kind of helps that theory. The E-shop on the switch has a large selection compared to physical releases. I know this is an XBox video, but has anyone else thought about the next switch variant being all digital?

Na.... Disc version is good as then you can play the game, keep it as long as you want and then sell it. Whatever, you get out of selling it then you can use it by adding more money to it and buying a new one. Don't think you can do anything like that with codes at all or digital copies...

Got my OG account banned on the 360 days for modding. I have never modded anything in my life (but I did join a random modded lobby in COD and stayed all of 2 mins)and spent over a month trying to explain that to Microsoft but they didn’t care. Had a lot of digital games then and lost them all so I learned then always go physical because even when you don’t do anything they can still ban you.
