I find it’s always tempting to do layers too quickly and this is a very useful reminder Anna so thank you for breaking the process down so clearly. A beautiful painting as usual too. ❤
Oh my goodness - thank you so much for your generous support! ❤️❤️❤️ I’ve been saving up for a new camera (my 2019 Sony is on its last legs) and I want you to know this is going directly to my camera fund 🙏😄
Thank you for another wonderful tutorial, Anna! I got your beautiful book and have to say that it greatly exceeded my expectations: so much valuable information with quite a number of your gorgeous pictures...just wow! ❤
Another excellent video Anna! I can’t believe I watch and learn with you since 2018 I think? 😱🥰 After a crazy long break I’m back to painting again and I’m going through all your birds tutorials, one by one ☺️
Excellent as always Ana. The tips are so helpful. I especially appreciated the setup tips. It really helps me focus on organizing before jumping into the painting. Not anything I ever considered but makes total sense. Thank you.
Hello Anna, once again your video is most informative! How beautiful is your bird painting! ❤The colour palette that you shared is unique and so gorgeous! If I were more advanced with watercolour, I would love to join you on your Patreon. Having said that, I definitely enjoy watching your videos and find them so fascinating. Thank you Anna. Helene
Inspiring as always! I need the reminders about light layers and fully dry. Instead I tend to fuss and overwork. I am still trying to master your wet on wet technique where you don't wet the paper first. It creates magic:)
Beautiful work! You seem to use more pre-mixed paints (for example, all the different reds in your palette) rather than using fewer pigments but mixing them on the palette, is that usual for you? In a class I took the teacher recommended doing the opposite (use only 1 red in a single painting but mix with your 1 yellow etc to get the various shades), so it is very interesting to me to see how you put your colors together! Obviously it works very well for your technique because the results speak for themselves.
One thing not mentioned here is light source and shadow. If you are combining two or more reference images, it is almost guaranteed that the light source is not coming from the same direction on all of the images. This means you can't just follow the colours on the reference image as the shadowing will be wrong and/or non-existent. Some of the items in your picture would also throw shadows which you'll have to add in. You need to understand highlight and shadows if you're going to combine reference photos.
Excellent point, thank you, and I do cover it extensively in the full version of this tutorial on Patreon, as well as my other videos on composition building when using different reference photos. In general, deciding on / noticing the direction of light and keeping it in mind throughout is key for proper shadow application and rendering 3 d form 👌😊
I love these videos. I find your Patreon a bit tricky as you don’t narrate the process or the colour you’re currently applying to the paper. I end up making poor choices and rush trying to keep up. Narrating your process would really help students like me who learn in an audible and visual process if that makes sense?
Thank you! But I do narrate tutorials on PATREON, including ever color and stroke I apply! I only recently started posting some non-narrated demos, and those are just a bonus content on the lowest Tier. Tier 2 contains all narrated compositions in real time. Hope this clarifies things 😊

Two more days until the release of your book! I’m so excited for it to arrive. Beautiful video as always thank you Anna.

Thank you for explaining so calm and empathetic. You book should arrive here in Denmark next week 🥰 Have been looking so much forward to it ❤
I learn so much from you. Thanks. Beautiful painting
Thank you Julie ❤️
What I appreciate in this lesson is the time you have taken to give suggestions for your limited pallet . It is helpful very helpful!?
Thank you 😊

How do you find inspiration about your paintings?😊😊😊
This is beautiful. What species of bird is the yellow one?
Thank you! It’s a European blue tit I believe 😊
@@AnnaBucciarelli That's lovely. I never knew about that species.
Wish there were a way to remove the background music. Just narration would be so much better.
I can understand your preference for a quieter experience, but I've found that music helps me to relax and focus during the painting process. 😊

@ I’m on that level, crumbs how have I missed that?! X
Please check the index post for the list of all narrated tutorials - or my website: www.annabucciarelli.com/classes
@ I’ve just gone on to Patreon and I have no voiceovers I’m afraid, but I am emerald tier?
@ ah, trust me to be terribly interested in topics that aren’t narrated! Thanks hun x
